He make it look too easy. Thats a good problem to have, but it wont bring other fighters quickly. Bud and Floyd had same problems until late 20s early 30s...its us, not the fighters. They killing, we just dont like their style of murder. Its boxing, there is no safe route...if you safe, the opponent should make it unsafe, if he/she cant, then they go back and train. As for not wanting master class in boxing, alot of "fans" dont want it from him. Great discussion though man. Will check for you more
Bud is more of a technician to me. We gotta see Shakur be this supreme technician against tougher competition. Technicians can still finish, technicians can disect a fighter and control the fight, adapt…Shakur ran against Edwin he didn’t prove to be a technician in that fight, his biggest threat to date he didn’t disect him he ran the majority of that fight ..Against Artem someone who’s nowhere on his level, no speed, no power…safe route? C’mon. We gotta see Shakur disect a guy who has advantages over him, a guy bigger than him, a fight where he adjusts…Bud is easily the best technician in boxing. Shakur is great but a little overrated..”dominate dudes” He didn’t dominate Edwin… Let’s see what Shakur does against Tank or Zapeda, Loma, even Frank Martin..Bud took away Errol’s jab and destroyed his game plan and beat him up and stopped him. He adjusted against Shawn Porter before stopping him…Can Shakur take away Lomas strengths or Tanks? Can he make in-fight adjustments aside from getting on his bicycle?
All strong points. Reason I say he takes the "safe route" is his conversation with his corner over repeated rounds about Artem being in survival mode. I definitely agree that if Shakur can stop anyone of those fighters you mentioned he will cement himself as a great.
What? If shakur is so masterful why didn’t he let his hands go more and know how to cut ring off against a c level fighter! shakur barely throw any punches that’s why he’s boring he scared to take chances. Keyshawn Davis didn’t get a knockout and that fight was way more entertaining! That was not a master class 😂 shakur is not that guy y’all think he is. Also sweet pea didn’t have no power and all his fights were entertaining!
You're making Wonder points and they are very accurate the one question I have is yeah from a fan point of a view I get what your saying but fr a fighters point of view im puzzled. So are you saying the other fighters won't fight him because he is too good or too boring. I can understand him being too good but too boring is not an excuse not to fight him
I think if Shakur would be more aggressive even though he doesn't have that TNT. He would be more attractive as a fighter. Because playing it safe all the time is going to be his downfall.
Shakur is afraid to engage! He does not like to get hit. Some fights you have to bite down and fight NOT BOX but fight. He doesn’t like to fight and that why he will never get a big fight nobody wants to see that. He can’t fight his style against a pitbull Cruz or gervonta Davis. Fighters that will put pressure on him and that are punchers will make a long night for him. His chin is in question too because he doesn’t get hit.
Shakur's a defense-first fighter. He doesn't have that "killer instinct" and won't fire any shots unless he's comfortable with it. People are mad because he's not Tank, lol. Let Tank be Tank and let Kur be Kur. No one beats Kur at "hitting and not getting hit" (boxing/ sweet science). Like you said, brother... "He will ALWAYS take the safest route to victory. " Some people may not like it, but I personally love it (as well as many other boxing enthusiasts). Shakur will slowly and methodically break Tank down. The fight is inevitable. He just needs to continue winning. People will pay to see him lose like Floyd.
@@letstalk7719 understandable, but depending on how much rounds you have it won't matter if your opponent is landing pitter pat punches if you knock him out by landing clean shots.....plus most of the punches these kids were throwing were not landing at all.
@@TheMoistBanana These lads look about 8 years old, what do you expect? They are learning a set of skills that will benefit them for life. Both of them are throwing and landing punches and getting valuable ring experience, they are both winners here.
If they are boxing like this at their age they are real fighters regardless. In a couple years punches are gonna be a lot more heavy handed. This isnt the approach i would recommend for a child once that happens. Let them get their legs before u ask them to run
You bring up a great point. Unfortunately USA boxing judges the bouts by the amount of punches landed. So it creates a brawling environment for the fighter rather than a strategic long bout.
oh no i totally understand and u are definitely right about that. Wasnt trying to criticize im just saying keeping the pressure on them to keep up that kind of max holloway style pace may not be realistic as they age more. Younger age groups can take a bit more risks. That being said i’ve always preached focusing strictly on fundamentals first and it seems like their coaches have done that. As they get older and learn more complicated technique and learn their body as it grows their style of fighting will naturally develop anyway. Who ever is training these kids is doing phenomenal tho i didnt mean it as a bash on anyone if it came across that way
Thank you for the discussion and no you did not come across as bashing the fighters. Most people assume amateur boxing is judged like professional boxing.
Another thing, it looks like Red has better training. He slips in and out when throwing his combinations. Blue didn’t land any solid punches. That said, keep working boys.
Interestingly enough I don't know either fighter. Not sure what the teach them comment is about. I didn't dispute the slip, I just saw punches land along with the tie up of legs.
@@letstalk7719 I didn't see a single punch land there. Red throws a right hook that ends up behind Blue's head. A crowd member walks in front of the camera. Red lands a glancing left hook, Blue counters with an overhand right that goes above Red's head, Red is off balance and falls backward Also, idk if little kids punching each other in the face is good for brain growth. Put these kids in BJJ until they're young adults or just do body shots. Not worth a concussion this early in their lives.
