If they are boxing like this at their age they are real fighters regardless. In a couple years punches are gonna be a lot more heavy handed. This isnt the approach i would recommend for a child once that happens. Let them get their legs before u ask them to run
You bring up a great point. Unfortunately USA boxing judges the bouts by the amount of punches landed. So it creates a brawling environment for the fighter rather than a strategic long bout.
oh no i totally understand and u are definitely right about that. Wasnt trying to criticize im just saying keeping the pressure on them to keep up that kind of max holloway style pace may not be realistic as they age more. Younger age groups can take a bit more risks. That being said i’ve always preached focusing strictly on fundamentals first and it seems like their coaches have done that. As they get older and learn more complicated technique and learn their body as it grows their style of fighting will naturally develop anyway. Who ever is training these kids is doing phenomenal tho i didnt mean it as a bash on anyone if it came across that way
Thank you for the discussion and no you did not come across as bashing the fighters. Most people assume amateur boxing is judged like professional boxing.
@@letstalk7719 understandable, but depending on how much rounds you have it won't matter if your opponent is landing pitter pat punches if you knock him out by landing clean shots.....plus most of the punches these kids were throwing were not landing at all.
@@TheMoistBanana These lads look about 8 years old, what do you expect? They are learning a set of skills that will benefit them for life. Both of them are throwing and landing punches and getting valuable ring experience, they are both winners here.
