my laptop key came up while cleaning the keyboard with cloth, then i watched ur video and fixed key gently, ACER NITRO V ANV15 51 , ITS KEYS HINGES ARE UPSIDE DOWN
The first time I put the membrane and then the key, it came off, until I turned it over and it finally worked. Also, it has a part that must go over what illuminates the key. With that, the second time it was perfect.
Also, is there anyway to tell if the Hinge is broken, by simply typing on the keyboard and NOT taking off any keycaps? (i.e. does the key become more mushy when typing, less tactile, etc..)? I'm asking because I removed the "Down" Arrow key incorrectly by lifting up on the right side, where the keycap HINGES are and NOT the clips, thus, I should have lifted up on the LEFT side with my plastic prying tool. It looks like the old keycap (I was replacing it anyway) hinges broke, thus, I was able to get it off and the Hinge was fine - Does this sound okay to you? It clicks and feels tactile, but again, as for the aforementioned question, would I be able to feel something distinct if the Hinge (not the keycap), was broken? Thanks for the video!
At 0:44, what is the black-shiny material on the top portion of the hinge? I was replacing my keys on my MBP and I got some duster and I suppose I was too close and blew a too strong stream of air because this black little tape/adhesive that covers the hinge flew off. I picked it up and used some tooth picks to set it into place, but I was curious as to what it is (my guess is something to do with protecting from electrical current, i.e. like electrical tape?) & is it supposed to be sticky? (I'm assuming it is, though this is a 2017 MBP I am referencing, so many some of the "stickiness" has worn off, hence, air being able to blow it away?)
Yesterday the D key on my laptop came off and it wouldn’t click into place properly, but thing is the hinge is stuck to the key itself, I have a 2023 model, is that supposed to be like that or did it break off?
@@codingcosmos7010 no I just went to local shop asked for old same model keyboard they gave me one broken of a MacBook they replaced with new keyboard , I brought the keyboard home took out the keys and scissor mechanism and replaced it myself.
Praise the Lord! after suffering from this problem of my keyboard, I came across with this video and it fixed my keycaps immediately xD Thank you so much!
I must advice that if you push too hard on the keys they might wear out or get broken so they never connect with the hinge. That's what happened to me so I changed "A" with a not much used key
I have a thinkpad p50 with some worn keys and other keys improperly installed with bent or broken minute plastic "detents" that grab on the the hinge mechanism. So I want to purchase a spare keyboard to cannibalize it for keys. Are the keyboards shared in its inner construction between many models of thinkpads/lonovo's ? There are some inexpensive options out there and I want to make sure that it would be compatible.
Thank you so much. Although my problem was slightly worse. The inner hinge was separated from the outer hinge. Connecting both of them without breaking the sides shaft of the inner hinge was stressful.
Thank you for this! I struggled, but saw this and the key point that you said is to have the middle hinge pivot facing up. Looking at it that way seems to be upside down, but once I flipped it over, it snapped right in place. Again, thank you.
how are all the h46 hinges on the site sold out and not existing anywhere on the internet are you telling me ima have to trash a whole laptop because of a stupid $6 key
