When it comes to realism, i think people should elaborate a bit more on what they are wishing for realism. To me, im fine with gear that you can't break, or lose during line snapping, but weather & fish behaviour based on weather is something i'd welcome a lot. But even more of things which i'd welcome is more player-input based gameplay - let me rephrase it pls - as i sense right now a lot of mechanics in game, like casting the bait etc, are tied to animations in a way the animation should start from it's beginning of cycle, which adds a bit of overall delay to the gameplay, the lack of which you can notice straight away in other fishing games - i.e. the character/rod/whatever on screen reacts instantly to the input or even on the mouse movement, which is all a bit delayed in the Angler. And other frustrating limitations which seem to have place in game right now - things like you can't move/walk while casting, or there's hardcoded minimum distance limit between the bait in the water and the rod/player, after which the casting just stops and resets to rod in init/ready to cast position. This is is among those things i'd improve for realism sake, as there are few frustrating moments when the fish almost got the bait, but the casting just got reset, while in real life or other fishing games you would be able to cast until the very shoreline (in rf4 its very exciting to see the bait moving and reflecting the sun just in front of the player on the very top of the water, if player wants to do so), or walk with the rod while casting, or not being that strictly limited in looking around/view angles while casting, it's not something that would make game more hardcore or less accessible, but i guess there's some code limitations for that at the moment.
Please make an 80's theme dlc pack! I have two sherbet rod setups and they are great for high xp scores. Love the rad colors. Lets get a Trolls bobber, shade glasses, high top reeboks, jean jackets, neon rod reels.
Gaz energy is very low and unenthusiastic about the ideas brought up by the communities. I can see why this game is still in this poor state. As an executive producer, it looks like he don't have a clue on what is going on. Chris on the other end seems very trill and excited. It would be nice to have a road map like many other games in development have.
There should be a few lodges around the map that you can fill with your trophy fish. If you are in a party and walk up to the lodge, you could select go to my lodge or go to party members lodge. Also should be server wide fishing derbys with trophies that you can also put in the lodge. As well as player stats that reflect how many diamonds golds silvers you have caught with some rewards based on that. Adding line shy stats to fishing lines would also be good. Many of these fish are very visually sensitive to fishing line. Fish finders on boats would also be nice as well as a POV of the fishing lure. Lots of the old fishing games i used to play had that and it was really cool.
Or 2 years of listening to our players and working on the things they ask for because its hard to make a game, and your dumbass couldn't do it if we gave you 10 years to try. 🙂 nevermind too long.
Dude having a voice in the sky tell you what todo with every little move is not really immersive or fun at all. This game could've been so much better but instead I feel like I'm having my hand held walking to school or something. I've been fishing for over 30 years I don't need tips and tricks. Let me get in a map with others and do what I want, kit how I want, buy stuff from the store and just.... go fishing without all the talking and arcade feel.

2 years after its release, the game still lacks even the most basic features. Nothing in it is thought out in depth. But we have horse and dino masks… and “barbie” rod and reel (anniversary)
Couldn't agree more. I spent more time exploring than fishing which was fun but when there's more to do other than fishing, in a fishing game... what's the point
@@lucasoutdoor0301 You are wrong my friend. I have 150 hours in game. Have You tried Russian fishing 4 or other PC games? The Angler has beautiful nature but is far from the best fishing game. Very shallow game mechanics
I was waiting for crustaceans, hopefully when we get a ocean map we can get crab traps and maybe lobster 🦞 🎉 congrats on the amazing game and hope for even more great news going forward.
