The grip tape should go against the fabric. It makes the template “stick” to the fabric and then the template and fabric can move together more smoothly.
Beautiful work! I am totally intrigued by the table you put on the machine you quilt on. It's a cutting mat, right? How does that work please? Is it glossed? My cutting mat is non-slip and full of scars from cutting fabric😀.
I have a qnique 15 pro on a cutie table top hoop frame. Micro quilting lines 2 stitches apart has ROCKED my world on my feather whole cloth quilts . I love this video thanks for making it !
I have been traveling pretty intensely so it’s been hard. I have a new one from late March and that I posted here but I am not home enough to do weekly videos. It under the Janome Playlist and is on precision binding.
I use both the grid glider which allows for sewing and Freemotion stitching and the white free motion glider. Here is a link to see them. www.fabrikatedquilts.com/iishop?form_version=2&showSearchResults=1&search_keyword=Glider&image_x=0&image_y=0
Here is a link to a list of things I like to use. I mainly use white chalk products on light and air erase or the duo marker in lighter colored projects. www.fabrikatedquilts.com/shop/Kate-Approved-Marking-Tools-for-Quilting.htm
Oh boy , you just saved my quilt with this tutorial. I was having a really hard time quilting. As I was listening, I was changing my tension and following your instructions. Really good video!!!! Thanks and have a blessed day!!
This is a Janome 9450. Janome has a very useful Rulerwork program so setting up the machine is super easy. Other machine can or course do it too but I love my machine’s function .
I spoke through the setting because my machine is very specific and it will not help the general public if they try to do it the same. Each quilt sandwiches and batting and machine will have its own quilts or requirements. The basic direction is that the foot needs to be as low as possible to stitch well while not preventing you from moving. If this was a Janome channel I would do that and have a video regarding that if you need it, but my channel is brand non specific so I did not do that here.
Kate, is your Design Layout sheet still available to download somewhere? Would sure like to have it to use in following along with your video and practice this lesson. Thanks so much!
No, sorry. I do have a different one for the artisan curve called Daisy Lively Mandala which has full instructions but not for this design. You can see the other design and pattern here: www.fabrikatedquilts.com/shop/Quilting-Books-and-Patterns/p/Daisy-Lively-Mandala-Artisan-Curve-Circles-Pattern-x81301671.htm
Hi, This is the first time I have seen your channel. I like the way you explain the quilting. I am very curious as to where you found your pen.. I have stayed away from pens ( or markers) bc they look difficult to use but yours does not. Can you share with me the brand and where to purchase it? Thank you. I have subscribed as I want to learn more from you.
Love the video. You always have so many wonderful demons thank you for sharing. I love the fun and fancy book and set Of templates great illustrations and explorations.
@@katequinnoffabquilts Still on phase 'why do I have an inch long skipped stitch? XD The videos make it look so easy, It'll get there just gotta get past stage 1.
I was just wondering if you have any videos using these templates on your long arm I will be using them on a long arm and I would like to see how they are used. You have such wonderful ideas and have been watching you for several days now every video I can find, but I would certainly love to see some long arm work. Thank you.
I am traveling a lot so it’s difficult to be on at the moment and I have limited days off with my family. I hope to return and do more a little later in the year.
