I have been an avid reader from a young age. There have been books that I have absolutely loved and books that I have found very useful. Some of them that do not appear on book review channels. I hope that you find the channel both useful and entertaining.
My tbr is the same, haha, just keeps growing and never getting smaller :'( Do you read books seasonally?? I saw you have some good ones that would be perfect for Halloween reads! Shirley Jackson's Haunting of Hill House is a super funa nd short read if you're looking to get spooky ;)
Wow, I love your little library tour, amazing! So many good books here... I have The Brother's Karamazov and the Tolstoy titles on my TBR coming up sooner rather than later too... I look forward to seeing what you choose next and seeing how you go with the Dostoyevsky and Tolstoy too. 😀📚
That’s really cool how old those things are! Thanks for sharing. It’s nice to hear Beowulf spoken in a British accent. I would love to read it someday 😊
I love the visuals you have with the book. It is amazing that some of your finds will be in a museum. When you first got started metal detecting, how did you know what to keep?
Yes lucky to find these in this part of England. In identifying there are books you can use, you can join a metal detecting club and the experienced detectorists will help you. There are also sites you can post pictures too for help.
Wow.. some beautiful finds here.. just wonderful! And accompanied with Beowulf, really puts it all into context... amazing! Happy historical sleuthing and happy Beowulf reading! amazing.. 😀🔎📚
The oldest finds I have found is a Bronze Age hoard, axehead, two spear tips, dagger parts, pommel and other things which was amazing. You do have all those fantastic arrowheads and artefacts. And all that gold and precious stones! Happy reading and hunting if you are out there.
I think they will be on loan to the museum so I should get these back. I have been really lucky the last couple of years. I found a 3000 year old Bronze Age Hoard with an incredible socketed axehead, two spear tips, dagger parts, pommels, and other things. Also 101 Roman barbariate radiate bronze coins. They have both of these hoards. The Saxon finds are very cool. What these people were doing in the Morcambe Bay/Lancaster area, who knows. I hope you are reading something good Emily.
Some great titles on your TBR! We just read Treasure Island. I LOVED it! I had planned to read Frankenstein this month but might save it for the winter. Your bookshelves are incredibly well organized!
That was a lot of fun, perusing your shelves. Thank you for the sneak peaks. Or nose about? I've pulled Can You Forgive Her off my shelf. How long did you want to read it? I apologize, I have forgotten what you said that I had agreed to. 🤦♀ And I haven't recorded my October selection yet, but I have the books at the ready.
I thought I had responded to this? The comment maybe disappeared into the ether again! Will need about three weeks I think. I'm not a fast read, Best wishes all!
@@ReadingIDEAS.-uz9xk I got your first message, but yes, the platform is going crazy on their censorship. Did you want to do three weeks then instead of four?
It truly is one of the mysteries of the world. We read and read and read and yet the TBR continues to get bigger and bigger and bigger. How does that happen?😂
During the Golf War and all the way up to the late 2010's, a lot of U.S. pilots were found to be taking "uppers" to keep them alert. Not unusual, and many were prescribed by military doctors. Sounds like a fun book.
What a fascinating idea for a tag, Nigel. Thanks for including me. I tried to come up with books for all of your pictures. We had a few in common. I'd love to do this tag too, but I'm not sure I'm tech savvy enough to pull it off. But thank you for tagging me. I will try....
Hope you are feeling better. Did your trip live up to all your hopes? Bet there were some surprises. I was not sure how/if people could do this idea but I really enjoyed putting it together. You could pull in pictures the same as book covers?
@@ReadingIDEAS.-uz9xk the trip was terrific. I did one video-not sure if you saw it-on the trip to discover the birthplace of my grandmother. That was an incredibly moving experience, with one almost magical connection after another. This was all before the official tour of the country began. It was an incredible trip. The Irish people were all very warm and welcoming. I loved it.
What a great find! I read the book years ago, and actually just picked up a used copy for my collection a week ago! Not as cool of an edition as this one, though. And I don't think you paid too much. With those misspellings it might actually have some significant value.
Read this earlier this year. Good book, and that cover art is cool. Enjoy that book, regardless what it costs. It’s only money…we don’t take it with us. Enjoy good sir!
I would like to read this book someday and it’s ok if you spent a little extra on this one, because you make up for it with all the bargains you already get for your other book purchases! 🎉 I love how green the grass is there and it’s actually raining here in NY too as I type this 😊
Great minds think alike! That was part of how I justified the purchase to myself too! For weather I look at what is happening on the east coast of the US. With the westerly winds we usually get the same 5-7 days later. The hurricanes that bash your coast come to us about a week later as heavy rain. I hope you are reading something great. Best wishes.
