He's misremembering. The first bo2 MLG LAN qualified the top 8 teams that werent qualified thru league play Clay placed 2nd for the spot and his teammates were underaged (spacely slacked and Huhdle). S/O Aches for the real passion of placing t8 at the lan and having already qualified thru league play. Also if im not mistaken Doug placed like top 40 in open that event.

Why is it only an issue now that OpTic won? Everyone knew about it since like April.... the league asked every team if they wanted to host, they all turned it down. OpTic pulled Activision out of the shit.... no one was whinging this much in April... now they won everyone just trying to find something to cry about... bitches
It’s funny cause he knows exactly why they did that. CDL obviously trynna save some cash it’s not a secret about how dodgy their financial situation is, and they gave it to the org who had the best chance of putting on a great event which obviously happened. the guys just finding any way to yap and downplay optics win. Optic "hosting" champs made absolutely no difference whatsoever in the outcome of the event, and regardless of what Pat says, that's his motivation in bringing this up - it's to get the idea spreading that there is somewhat of an asterisk on this ring. The drums and the dynasty walkout had something to do with the results? Are we even serious? Not to mention Optic stepped up to host because the league asked someone to. And not to mention that any other team activations would've been 100% accommodated by Optic if other teams wanted to actually think outside the box how to engage fans. This comes down to the fact that Optic has always made content and fan engagement a priority, so it's no surprise they have the biggest fan base. It's on other teams to actually do something.
I agree but hecz has publicly given anyone and everyone all the info they’ve ever needed to be successful, optic shouldn’t be hosting it he’s right but also no other org wanted to touch it anyway. Optic just wants cod to be at the level that the other esports are and honestly it should be higher up I get it it’s cod but at the end of the day cdl is using a dying esports model and didn’t even come up with their own plan. The fact the game makes billions but yet they can’t invest into making this sport legit and using sales from the game to sponsor pros it’s actually kind of wild. They should have save player payouts after a couple years and then went heavy into franchising challengers should be considered a pro league and way better ranking system. Like they have to put the game into the game In order to get more out of the esport. Either way cold problem.
Another L take from Aches the king of bias against Optic for taking his complexity squad from him. Hecz has always preached make content and if optic wasn’t around then you know the league wouldn’t be either at this point. The league genuinely would’ve died out by now for sure, and if it didn’t die out it would be way lower budget and player salaries and prize pools would be way way less than they currently are. All that being said yes Hecz preaches content, and scump has always made content. But this team has always wanted to win more than anything. Having the biggest fan base puts the most pressure on their backs to win! Every time they lose they get roasted 10 times more than any other team. The optic pro team has always cared about winning more than anything.
Does the NBA provide teams with arenas and sell tickets for them? No the organizations do. Does the NBA host the Finals? No, the organizations host them. The NBA quite literally is solely a sanctioning body in which orgs must follow. Quit crying.

Aches is right. I don’t think anyone could’ve done as well as optic did in hosting this event and that’s a problem. The league should have so much extra ressource internally to create an event of higher magnitude and they don’t. That’s the issue he has with it and people are getting it mixed up. He’s not salty that optic hosted a great event, he’s salty that the league are effectively negligent to their responsibility and are totally incapable. 😊
