In fairness to Dallas Empire, yes it was online but they did win a (8 team) LAN, the final one before online, and towards the end of the year they undoubtedly played the best fundamental CoD as well as having good talent. Over the year, Faze, Huntsmen and Empire were fairly similar, sort of all getting marquee wins over one another at different moments (except Huntsmen and Faze almost never played each other for some reason) and all getting weirdly shit on by Florida, but point is that they were better than people give them credit for and Aches saying with confidence that there would have been a different winner if the whole year was on LAN is unfair on the evidence we have.

@@isauced_ That is true. Faze were the best team early in the year, but it’s clear that Dallas were not actually bad on LAN. My point was that asserting that there would be significant difference in Dallas’ results if the whole year would have been on LAN is not tenable based on the evidence we have of those teams.

I do remember some BO2 maps that were used competitively but then set aside. Plaza Hardpoint, Aftermath Search and Hardpoint, Express Hardpoint. I don't recall a single time Turbine was used, because it was the size of Stonehaven.

Half of Cold War’s Majors were online so if Dallas has Mickey Mouse cheese then you have to factor that into CW faze too. They are still S tier but I think for number of LAN events OG might have the slight edge

Just got to the optic discussion. I disagree with pat about iw being the worst game. The base game wasn’t great obviously but it’s one of the best games competitively with great maps and good format. Bo3 is close to it but playing both ctf and uplink made the series really weird with 2 swing modes. Iw gave us probably the best year competitively

MW3 was weak from lack of support, but the game played incredibly for comp. Even with only two gametypes, the maps were solid and entertaining to play. Plus, it was awesome to see the first real instance of players building up a massive fanbase. Before this, streaming was so rare but next thing we know, snd tournies are all the buzz and phizz probably had the biggest fanbase in the game. I remember TKO vs haggy and dedo hitting 1k viewers and couldn't believe the numbers.

I know they didn’t remember as a whole, but that bo4 champs. If eg wins, they would end up playing OpTic. Sending eunited to loser bracket which eventually would have to play 100 thieves. So the grand finals would be a lot different. Just a big what if to think about, also that payload snd choke from OpTic

Keep the Reverse Sweeps coming!!! But let’s be real here. Dallas Empire won the most events that year. They started with 2 complete rookies, and you saw their progression naturally over the course of the year. By the end of the year winning the chip in dominant fashion. So a little higher is deserved, although yes online is cheese. Also going by Aches standards, the Faze Cold War team should be higher than his own complexity team. The same 4 players won 4/6 events during the year, including the 1st Major and Champs. I believe they had never been 3-0d on LAN. His Complexity team didn’t win a tournament or Champs, until they picked up Clay. Which yeah they went on one of they’re most dominant runs in Cod history but were also lucky to have so many events back then. In Ghosts, he says they had to pick up Karma, which they won a bit after picking up Karma and Dominated Champs. But Optic also won that year, and let’s talk about. Formal coming up in the second half of Ghosts( he won 3 EVENTS, after coming from halo and making his way up the ladder) Another thing, he uses Optic losing champs in AW against their win in IW, but they played with Nadeshot, and picked up KARMA after that. Also BO3 had --in ban and protect why is that never talked about most cheese switch from literally match to match

No, certainly not. They play the game different today and CW Faze and MW Dallas would slam IW Optic without any doubt. Literally every single pro agrees that the level of play is so much higher today than it has ever been in the past. In terms of talent, sure, Optic wins, but they practice and play the game in such a smarter way today that were IW Optic to load into a map in the GF of any of the last 3 champs, the would be absolutely obliterated. This same goes for literally every single existing sport. Greats of the past would lose immediately to current greats, even if relative greatness or superiority is less.

I think coL is the most dominant team in cod history, but this specific ranking is unfair to compare Faze, Optic, etc because coL played champs at the beginning of the year. They didn’t have to be dominant the entire year. Faze had a way more impressive year for the game they played, coL fell off the map after Anaheim.

The video is already 7 months old, but I would still like to get rid of it. I don't want to deny Faze's dominance in CW, but you have to note that of the 4 event wins (Major 1, 3, 4 & Champs) only 2 were on LAN, namely Major 4 and Champs. Of course, it's still really impressive, but I don't think Pat noticed it when he looked it up

Didn't Empire get 2nd and win the last LAN of the year before it went online? Then average like 2nd the rest of the season and win like 4 of those 8 team events and Champs on top of that. In terms of the full run of both the Complexity/EG dynasty and the Optic dynasty, Optic is better, but strictly Complexity in Ghosts vs Optic in IW, it's definitely Complexity.

Envy should 100% be A tier and also Haggy even said Faze cold war stats. Over 80% win percent going 40 and 9 or whatever puts them as the best single season team of all time without a doubt. Now having 9 good teams every year compared to when you guys played and there was 3 or 4 max makes Faze's accomplishment even cooler. I'm a diehard NY fan so i have no skin in the game and have 0 bias in the situation.

Empire take is absolutely faded They won the last LAN that year, they won 4 events, champs They just weren't good at the start of the year and they were absolutely dominant at Champs and put faze in a headlock in grand finals. You have fariko in A and that team won champs at the beginning of a game cycle LMAO Damon was on 2 other teams in BO2, Parasite wouldn't even have a ring if it was the normal cycle. Crim would have 4 and Aches would have 3.

I'm going to be honest, as an Optic fan I think the complexity roster should be higher than Optic in IW. However, the whole conversation ya'll had sounds like a lot of jealousy. Half the conversation was how Optic was so big so they got all the best players. lmao,

You can say it's jealousy all you want, but the fact that Optic has been so much bigger than all other orgs in competitive Cod has been a real problem for a while.

It's not even close to similar though. Over 65% of the fanbase has Optic as their main team. Over 85% of the watchers are Optic fans. In no esport or sport does an org dominate like this

Discrediting events cause they were online is crazy. Every team had to go through the same disadvanatges of online play. Its like the people that discredit LeBrons rings cause they were in the bubble 😊
