Kayak fishing and fishing in NYC. Recording and sharing my fishing experiences has become my passion. With no experience on video editing, I try my best to create content on freshwater and saltwater fishing for people to enjoy. I have many new ideas for this channel and I can’t wait to make them work. Go fishing! And tight lines everybody!.
You are the only one catching them!!! This is an off topic question- I have a friend selling his brand new old town sportsman pdl 106 asking for $2500, do you think it’s worth the price?
Nice Sheep! Tried that place a few times, no luck. Is that a Seadoo Fish Pro at the bridge? Love to get one of those. can cover alot of grounds. What is the spot bait for? Fluke / Striper / Blues?
Thanks man! Yeah those fishing Jet ski are awesome, I wouldn’t get to close to the bridge with those though. I wanted to use the spots for whatever would take a live spot, I’ll do it next time when I have more time to spent on the water. Thank you for watching!.
Thank you! There is only a small group of people that would target those fish. This kind of fishing is not for everyone, a kayak will take a beating around those barnacle covered pilings and some are made of concrete and steel. Thank you for watching!.
Great catch and a good fight with the sheepshead , what's your taste preference, which one you like the taste better between a porgie and the sheepshead ?
I usually kayak fish for porgy in the sound, only time I tried there was a bust. you hit the bite! Nice catch, but sitting in the 90 deg sun does them no favors. For top quality meat you should be bleeding them on a clip or stringer and icing them. Makes cleaning a lot less messy too.
Yeah it’s true, I have to get in the habit of taking care of the fish meat better. I do have a small soft cooler in the hatch on the front of the kayak so they eventually make it to the ice. Thank you for watching!
I always use Asian shore crabs when I go porgy fishing, it works for me and it keeps all the small pesky interference fish away. Thank you for watching!.
@@NYCE_Fishing I went out last night again. We Caught a few FATTT 2-3lb pork chops and then instantly the bite just shut down. I haven’t seen porgies this big in the bay. We’re pulling 16-18 inch fish… I have a feeling sharks may have been around. BTW there was a pretty big hammerhead spotted off the pier this week. I just want one sheepshead lol. Oh and I too can live without the rays. Anyway, god bless, Stay safe and lots of luck brother ! I’ll make sure I say hello if I spot you out there 🙏
Thank you. I started with a 300 dollars kayak my first season and I was hooked. Best of luck on your upcoming saltwater adventures. Thank you for watching!
Here I’m running a Fenwick HMG inshore 7’ medium heavy/fast action rod paired with a Penn Clash II 4000 with 15lb braided line/ 20lb flouro leader and a 3/4 to 1oz swing jig. Thank you for watching!.
Thank you Dan! I’m sure they are there to stay for the rest of the season so I’m gonna take a break from those porgies and focus on other species. I really want to get into some keeper sea bass but I wouldn’t even know where to start lol.
There is definitely a big fan base for porgies so far I had them fried and I also followed a recipe and made them into some sort of porgy salad, it was very tasty. Half the porgies I catch go to friends and family that love them. Thank you for watching!.
Some guys use heavy lines and yeah heavy sinkers. I use 12 to 15 lbs braided line and I don’t need more than 1 oz jigs, but you have to use the structure to your advantage as well. Thank you for watching!.
Hello, thank you brother! I was using 3/4 to 1 oz swing jigs. I make them at home, I’m just still mastering the craft of making jigs and painting them. Thank you for watching!.
I’m not big into getting fancy gear so here I’m running a penn battle III medium/fast 7 foot spinnning paired with an Pfluger medalist reel. The reel is a good old reel, I don’t even know if they still make it. Thank you for watching!
There is limited space on a kayak and there is a bunch of stuff to get use to, but as long as you build a routine it does get easier and easier each time.
Yeah , I just added the worm to see if there was any weakfish that would take it and they did. Thanks for the comments bro and for checking out my videos!.
@@letsgomets002 I don’t use heavy weights. I use light jigs mostly, heaviest 3/4 to 1 oz. I need my jig to get to the bottom fast so the free open spool of a spinning reel does the trick for me. The inlet has some heavy/fast current.
