Tony here. I am a proud husband and father doing improvements around the house. I like to challenge myself with new projects and things I have never done before. I like the entrepreneur mindset. I do the best with what I have and am willing to give any task a try. Subscribe to follow me on my journey.
I had my mailbox ran over by a car, I had the standard 4-in pipe white concrete inside of it and the extra sturdy square mailbox which was not damaged but the pole got bent still and got torn out, this looks like a great idea! I assume that is a 6-in AG cast iron?
I built a ramp last week on the hottest day of the year. Very similar to your design. It was a hot day. Then made two 36" doors that over lay the front of the shed. I was so hot I gave up and finished it the next morning! 25 years ago I made as cheap shed from a Big Box Store kit and have had to fix it a few times. 2 weeks ago my son and I finished a 18 by 12 shed with 1 foot over hang. This project got all the right stuff into it. No short cuts built like a house would be. Keep up the good work.
Don't bend the pin that far. Do as little as possible. You can always remove it and do more, but once you bend it too far, they're tough to straigten back out
I guess people who make these videos just assumes everyone is an electrician. The main thing I wanna see is how to and where to hide the power plug and modules! Didn’t show that at all!
I was lucky to have a closet on one side of the wall. I cut an outlet size access hole whole through to poke the wires into the closet. I made a little shelf in the closet to hold the box that comes with the LEDs and had an outlet put in the same area.
Note that one you repaired will sound more full and lively because you repair it with such quality! 😂now you'll have to redo the mass manufactured one.
Really nice. Did you use spacers between the deck boards? You must of measured precisely in order to not have to rip that last deck board. I’m about to replace mine that rotted after 7 years. I’m going to use 2x6 and attempt what you did. I’m just not good at cutting those angles on the side like you did and the outline of the deck boards.
It’s best to use a little space to allow for expansion and contraction. I did have to rip the last piece. 2x6 in reality is 1.5x5.5 you can measure how long you want and round to the nearest 5.5” the outline is 45 degree angles at the bottom. Make sure you ground contact treated lumber.
That is great! You will be so happy with the new look. It's worth the time/work. Have fun while doing it. To me, it is always fun doing woodwork (daily).
I do custom woodwork most of the time (cabinets, built-ins, fireplace mantels, office furniture etc). I also do standard cabinets but it is cheaper for the customer to buy them and have me install them. Now I learn coding and I have a couple of projects for that, when I have a little time (work, family, etc).
@@Tonyswoodshop personally I prefer poplar. When I use pine, I use select, even after paint the Knotts jump out at me. Too many decades building yacht furniture has left me with a way too discerning eye. 🍻
Not surprised...it still looks fantastic. I'm VERY interested in your north arrow paver area. I want to do something like that in my yard somewhere. I'm a geographer. ❤
Would be nice to have a brief glimpse of how you got the alignment--was it based on the original track location, measurement from top or bottom of the drawer, or something else?
I tried to base it off the original alignment. I tried to have the bottom of the new slides lined up to where the old slides were. I ended up having to take the faces off the drawers and re-align them.
@@JB-cn6ig Yes, it works. It takes a while the way I did it. I didn’t even finish yet lol I went through two tanks of propane. You can easily tell what parts have been done and what has not. I will wait until spring/summer to continue.
