This was helpful as I wondered - basically realized - I have to put in some sort of reinforcement for the extra weight of a cast iron sink. Did you find the boards you used sufficient or were you wishing you'd used beefier material? Thanks!
Hows the sink holding up I'm about to.instal almost the same one and I'm hoping the supports will be good . Also what type of wood didnu use for the supports and the width and thickness of the wood ?
You do not need supports if you are replacing an old cast iron sink with a new one. I replaced my green one with a gorgeous Koehler black one. No supports needed
@@Tonyswoodshop I just a cast iron sink for $25 and glad to found this video. Them sinks are heavy! I've installed my yet but hopefully soon. Any update to the install like did you add a large bead of silicone to the lip after all? Glad you did this video.
Thanks for this video as I'm about to do the same albeit a different type of faucet, good idea on the support as these things are heavy especially for a 60+ year old man who had heart surgery back in January.
