If you use decals or textures from Dash, they are stored the same way in UE as if you used them from the UE Content Browser, so there is no difference there, the focus is more about making it easier to use them and adjust it if you are using Decal Scatter for example. 🙂
The idea is that it should not affect Dash at all. We plan to make the same integration with FAB, i.e. allow you to view and use all your downloaded Megascans assets :)
@@polygonflow Thanks for getting back! I notice you guys partner with RU-vidrs a lot and they usually offer discount codes. Are there any current active codes for a perpetual license by any chance? Thank you.
@@ChcikenWang I don't think there exist any such ones right now no, sorry! You will have to keep an eye out for promotions from us (our newsletter) and from third-party RU-vidrs :)
I suspect this means your location does not have OpenAI API access. Where are you based in I may ask? In Dash 1.8 Beta, we have added the ability to use custom OpenAI Key and OpenAI Proxy Domain, if you are familiar with this you should be able to get it working!
You know what you guys need to consider doing? There's a software called Daz Studio. To date there have been attempts made to simplify bringing Daz characters into Unreal Engine and retain the look they have inside of Daz studio. But the process of doing this is rather extensive and time consuming. Plus not to mention whenever Unreal Engine goes through it's changes, then the process pretty much changes. The affordability of Daz characters, armor, hair, weapons, etc completely makes it a viable software for being able to affordably get smaller game studios to justify using the characters from there inside of Unreal Engine for ALL of their characters. You should look into how difficult it would be to do something like this properly. They have a Daz to Unreal Plugin already, but it's not great. Perhaps you could do better.
So much for going to sleep. Just came across this tonight, mind blown every video I’ve watched on this channel. Such an amazing tool, cant wait to tryout tomorrow.
Hehe sorry about your sleep! Hope it feels worth it!💪Feel free to reach out on Discord with your first impressions, always fun to hear if your initial testing will hold up to your expectations🙌
Ofc! First you need to select the scatter result, search for Bake in Dash, in order to bake them down to individual static meshes. And then you need to select them all, open the UE details panel and turn on "Simulate Physics" :) I hope this helps!
When creating very large areas/villages, I would say Dash and PCG can be great together! We have made several improvements on using Dash for larger areas, but PCG might still be better suited, depending on exactly what you need to do. I would say test both out and compare! Dash is more most people easier to use, but if you are going very big, it might not hold up as well as PCG :) And then for the smaller details in the village, Dash will for sure be easier to use :)
Haha! We have not been around for so long actually, but we have been growing the number of features and tools a lot this last year😃In case you didn't see it, you can try it out with a free trial if you want! 😀
Hi! :) We have several different masks in our Scatter tools that will help you to erase unnecessary objects with detailed control. But we also have the ability to convert the scatter result to standard UE foliage type, meaning you can then go in with the brush tool to remove things manually if you prefer that :) I would be happy to go through the different options here with you further if you want!💪
@@polygonflow i wanna it . end when i closed ue scene dash scene like surface scatter and so) closed too but if i opened that project dash scene dont open then I have to do it all over again. pls do tuts by the way your DASH is super good end easy to use, do better and better thanks dash
@@Burkhaniddin Could you perhaps join our Discord and send a video of the issue? It is hard to understand what is happening without seeing it. Once I get a video of the issue, I can surely help you out! :) Discord: www.polygonflow.io/discord
Thank you! Josh did a really great job here indeed! Dash has changed a lot since this video though, so if you are interested to try it out, our Discord is a great place to be in! :)
How can I edit a scatter made previously? I cant seem to find how to re-edit actions made previously without erasing them and creating them again. For example, to edit the Camera Settings and change color grading, as well as to introduce a new object for a proximity mask in a Scatter made before... etc
Hey! The Dash menu is contextual, meaning you it shows you buttons/icons depending on what you have selected in the scene/viewport. So, to adjust an existing scatter for example, select the results and you will see an icon pop up in the Dash menu, it has 1,2 and some lines. The same goes for the camera, select the camera in the UE outlier and you should see the icon! :) Also, you can search "active tools" to open up a list of all active tools in the scene, if you maybe prefer that way of working :) If it does not work, please send a message in our Discord and we can figure out what is going on!
We don't have any sound features/tools, but if you have created a terrain with Dash for example you can convert it easily to a static mesh with the command "convert to static" and then you have the normal control as you do with any static mesh in UE :)
It is because each asset tag costs us money as we are using the OpenAI API, so we have different limit on the amount of tags for the trial and the different plans we offer. We will most likely increase these limits later this year so getting feedback on what limits makes sense for you is very appreciated, any thoughts? :)
Ah I see. I've already used this months credit, and I'm not even 5% through my library (kitbash3d, quixel, and just the current project. Yes, there's a lot in it 😢) So the trial will run out before it resets?
@@richardfraser4843 I understand! Yes it will, the idea with the trial is that you should be able to test it, and for most people, it is fine to just tag 250 assets to get the feeling of it. But if you send me an email: info@polygonflow.io, I can give you some more asset tags for your trial!👋
I'm having an issue right in the beginning. I can't seem to path to my Quixel library of assets in the preferences. What exactly is the location or what am I pathing to? The library of already downloaded assets or some arbitrary location?
Hey! You are supposed to point it toward the folder where your Bridge (UE integrated Bridge) is downloaded on your PC. You can find that location by right-clicking an asset in Bridge and check where it is located. Then in Dash, make sure to use the path button on the right, and not just paste the path directly in the Dash Preferences, a Windows panel should pop up and in there, you give the path :) I hope this helps, send us a message on our Discord if you need more help! :)
Heyy, i have been wrapping my head around polygon Dash, But still couldn't understand how to use it for my specific needs. i think you must make a very simple, slow & a very beginner level tutorial of Dash, while explaining its overall UI and interface of the application. And a documentation, so users can figure out on themselves how to certain things instead of looking up for a tutorial for everything!
100% true! We are actually improving on this aspect now with the upcoming Dash 1.8, so stay tuned for that and let us know if you think we have improved enough then or not! Hope to share more about 1.8 ETA soon :)
@@AsasinoManik We will for sure! Right now I think our 80 min long tutorial on Helldivers 2, might be the best beginner friendly as Tamas goes over the creation in detail :) Link: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-kJhqc5_6usc.html
If you draw multiple curves, then yes there should be multiple dash_curves being created. However, if it's just one stroke that you drew to have a curve, but it's somehow segmented, please give us a more detailed report on our discord!
For now only Poly Haven content is downloadable in Dash and Megascans content will appear in the Content Browser. Hopefully we can change this in the future. But most assets in this video are free and it is described in the full tutorial video how to acquire it.
It's a very powerful plugin, but when I tried it, UE5 crashed. Is it because the grass density is too high and it can't calculate it? Is there any recommended configuration for Dash on PC? Will the paid version have this problem?
Superb.... I'm learning unreal. Should I use now or i should wait to complete the course. My fear is if I use this now and if I won't get this when I'll use it professionally in a company....
@@polygonflow currently I'm learning unreal engine. Already so many things are new for me. So I'm asking if I should try Dash after completing the course ? Other reason Why I'm still not using it that may be I'll not get Dash in the company I will join.
