There's only 1 type of dog I like. The quiet/reserved dog that minds it's own business but will accept attention it's given and not demand more afterwards. Basically a well trained and disciplined dog. My dad owns two dogs. One of them is overly hyper and I can't stand it. The other is to itself and is the personality I described above. I think it's a personality/breed type of thing because that dog is a blue tick hound. Maybe hunting dogs are just that way. To themselves and disciplined naturally.
Pugs have the best temperament of any dog and I love them. I’ve fostered, rescued and owned several. However, you’re wrong on several counts. Housetraining- no more difficult than any other breed. Training- easily trainable. Stubborn- no. Prone to obesity- only if you overfeed them. The following is true tho- they do have health problems- I’ve had problems with eyes, ears, skin and spine with mine. They do shed a lot and they dont do well in hot weather.
They are wonderful souls but dont get a pug please.. The health issues - eye problems, breathing issues / tracheal collapse , skin issues under the folds , ear infection etc are extremely common
Or the 1,000 or over asshole owners who make them this way don’t have no consequences to Face they just keep doing it and in the long run it’s the dogs that gets put down if by some chance it bites someone once and it’s a pitbull that we all know it’s a death sentence in Animal control these pitbulls didn’t ask to be born or ask to be forced to fight other dogs they are lovers and would rather be in center of attention with your family and whatever there doing have a picnic tell your friends to bring there dogs have them socialize with each other under supervision But never forget to check on them even if things are going good at first check on periodically and go back have a hamburger and hot dog go back all owners and let the dogs be with all there owners and keep socializing you talk with other dogs as well as other people
I used to raise Shar Pei. This year I lost my last one. She was (I know it is very very ) unusual close to 20 years old. Her mother was a Shar Bull. They were a local breeders idea to cross a Shar Pei and English. It was a pretty mix and they were trying to get the best traits out of the two and eliminate some of the bad (like skin problems) The Shar Bulls were a great looking dog with very good temperament and protective skills. Like Shar Pei., extremely loyal. The one I lost was from a Shar Bull and my Dad's border Collie. It was all the dog's planning and not mine but the puppies were super cute and Meesha was a great dog and protector to my family and home for a long time. Miss her greatly.
0:56 - a guard dog is physical protection. A watch dog's barkin. Four sources say this. Some sources say Golden Retrievers r protectiv n some sources say they aren't. A Golden Retriever breeder told me they protect the family. So it depends on the dog.
@ health issues: There's a breed called retro pugs, which have more prominent snouts and therefore don't suffer from the breathing related health issues of pugs. Also afaik the eyes falling out is not likely with this breed. @ snoring: If you don't sleep in the same room with your pet, there's no issue.
This is the totemic animal associated with Set, the Egyptian God of Chaos, War, Deserts and Storms. For age no one knew what the "Sha" or Set-animal could be. But it was this rare dog breed, the Saluki, that was beloved by Ancient Egyptian royalty and was used to herd sheep. Neat 👍.
My dogs used to howl twice a day, at noon and six pm when the siren went off. I used to howl with them, imagine 6 dogs howling at once lol. They have all passed away now and I so miss their howls when the siren goes off. 😢
Ive had both American bully and American Pitbull Terrier. The American Bully makes a far better family dog for kids of all ages. They are often a true nanny dog.
My house falls between two other houses, one with two dogs and one with only one. Don’t even get me started on all the barking and the noise. The house with two dogs also has a cockatoo, which when the dogs are on a barking lash, it seems to only pile on. And the other one is even worse. When it’s owner isn’t home, it barks, and it doesn’t stop barking. It will bark for hours at a time, more often during the night, when the whole neighbourhood is quiet and trying to sleep. I can’t stand it. I feel like we quite possibly live in the worst positioned house in the street.
Yes, I had a female MinPin, and she was the best companion that I ever had. I was an over the road truck driver while raising her in my truck, going all over the country. She obeyed me beyond all instinct and desire. Alas, my poor baby died of 😮sugar diabetes. As she was suffering I went to the vet. She advised me to put her down, she couldn't see, and overweight. No diet worked on her, after she was fixed she just swelled right up and became a wide load. But I loved her still. I miss her😢
In my opinion, dogs don't think like humans, but they do act based on instinct, on experiences, and even come to conclusions. I think a two year old dog is more intelligent than a two year old child. The dog is smart enough to avoid dangerous situations, even though it doesn't understand exactly what is going on. Dogs are not as narcissistic as small children. They don't demand everything they see, including attention - or else throw a temper tantrum. But the dog will reach a plateau, and can't grasp things beyond a certain point.
Best dogs in the World BUT- Shar Pei Fever will kill them quick. We got our Baloo for a hefty price from a reputable breeder. NO guarantees on Shar Pei Fever eradication. Our precious Baloo made it to 5 years old. He got Shar Pei Fever and was dead in 3 days. Very sad to say no more Shar-Pei for us, can't ask for another BIG broken heart.
I've got a baby girl cat at My house, and she's as fat as a pig, I have 4 cats and 3 dogs, the dogs are very bad troublemakers, I would however like to have a pet spider that bites harder than all insects.
