I have a microdermabrasion facial once a fortnight and have achieved excellent results. I'm constantly having compliments on my skin. It's incredibly relaxing, doesn't hurt and I swear by it. Nothing is going to be a one size fits all and you're wrong. There is a science behind it. It has proven results in the medical world and as a result stepped across into the beauty industry.
I had microdermabrasion done many years ago for acne scaring and it did wonders. It wasn’t just a one off and it took time to see results but I did and I was very happy 😊 As I am now older I guess it would dry out my skin but with proper hydration I think I would give it another go
Microdermabrasion is equivalent to using the Clarisonic skin brush on your face. I had it done a few times to no noticeable difference. I always felt like it was scam. Thank you for sharing!
So from my experience I burned my skin pretty badly using a diy mask and was left with really dark hyperpigmentation around my mouth that I couldn’t cover without makeup and wouldn’t budge and lighten at all, 2 years later I decided to get my first facial, when the clinician saw my skin she recommended hydromicrodermabrasion, I was sceptical and didn’t think it would help but thought it was worth a go. I kid you not, one session that’s all it took one session and the dark marks were completely gone, it was very red for a few hours after but my skin never felt so soft after, all the darkness around my mouth had gone and my skin was glowing. I think maybe it depends on what products are used in combination with it but I do think it’s over priced, you can get an at home device for the same price as one session and treat multiple areas. I’m going to purchase my own now from homedic
Sorry but I have to disagree. My skin does look different. More refined, smooth and renewed. And I have good skin to start with. Fine pores, no lines, acne scars or anything similar. So it would even be harder to tell but it does show a beautiful difference. It’s not a scam.
Ugh, scam? I thought MDB had fallen out-of favour due to concerns that it does too much, not too little? Is anyone out there going to definitively review it and properly put the test any claims that it either damages the skin or (as suggested here) does nothing? Firstly, it doesn't hurt at all really, plus I've had it multiple times and after just one session noticed that my pores were cleaned out, skin was brighter, pigmentation slightly faded and a visible crease (not saying a deep wrinkle) on my nose almost disappeared overnight. Have 6 sessions two-weeks apart and you'll really see results. Of course, there are different grades of machine out there, and admitedly some just seem to brighten-up the top layer for a few days rather than causing some redness and minor peeling like the stronger ones do (which ultimately leads to a better complexion, just like with a peel). Also, in my experience with Diamondtone it may take more sessions to achieve the same results as you can with a good crystal machine, but I wouldn't discount MDB and I certainly wouldn't suggest that a cosmetic scrub product or sponge could achieve the same result. Just a thought here, but although I'm not trying to suggest that peels don't work, is there any chance that they caught-on mainly because they're much easier to do than MDB and don't require expensive equipment and a constant resupply of materials?
I've been doing it for 20 years at my dermatologist initially for cystic acne and it helped dramatically. That was just for 2 years. After that I do it every 3 or 6 months and never had any problems. When I go home I have warm camomile compresses to sooth my face.
I completely disagree with her assessment. I had microdermabrasion done & my skin over the course of a few months, looked smooth, cleared up & I started having friends notice! ..No it is Not instant but with treatments you WILL see results, this woman has her opinions but she doesn't understand the time & technology
I think you were a little harsh calling it a scam, but there was one very important point that needs more stressing - research shows that in most cases a chemical exfoliant works a lot better than any type manual exfoliant -and microdermabrasion is just that, nothing more. No wonders happening here. And I believe you are right about being careful where you spend your hard earned money! thank you :)
Stone age is what your talking about It has a suction that sucks the pores. I had my face done and took pictures before and after on myself and there is a difference And I have pics to show to prove it
I just got one and it’s definitely not worth it. I don’t think my skin is fit it. I didn’t see a difference in my skin. It also felt like the process made my skin dryer
Yeah, people swear by microdermabrasion but here is the thing, did the esthetician use any form of peels on you? Microdermabrasion is typically used w some sort of peels. People leave w amazing results but is most likely coming from the chemical peel. Another problem is that you don’t know the long term effects under a microscope, and by long term I’m talking about 10 years. Additionally, I can guarantee you will get the same results if not better by just getting peels from your esthetician. Also watch Dr. Drays video about Microdermabrasion which is a more unbiased opinion and talks about the pros and cons.
What did I just waste my time watching? I don’t even like microdermabrasion and still know this is a load of crap. What is she trying to sell people on instead?
I disagree. I get microdermabrasion & it has done wonders for my skin. The last time I got it, the aesthetitian used diamond tip and I saw the dead skin in the filter of the tool. It cleared up dead skin cells on my forehead nose and very congested chin. I must add that I informed her to use the highest setting on the machine; it wasn't painful. I will be going for the Hydrafacial next. Since you think that microdermabrasion isn't effective, what do you suggest as an alternative treatment? Do you suggest peels?
I am so excited! I ordered .6% tretinoin today! I want to try the aggressive advanced complex and order for mom and sis for Christmas. We are over 2 decades Obagi Nuderm users and we are ready for new products.
