I don't know anything about serums or beauty products but I found this video searching on why no one talks about the fact vitamin c can NOT be absorbed through the skin. It can't pass the skin barrier, so why add it to creams? Do products use additives that break the skin down allowing the vitamin c to enter? And you're serum that does wonders, are you sure it's the vitamin c doing the trick or one the other ingredients? I'm genuinely asking after learning about vitamin c role in topical use and it's inability to bypass our skin membrane.
Oils create a layer on the skin to help it retain moisture and prevent moisture loss. Because oils have long chain fatty acids that can’t penetrate the skin. They help smoothen the skin and depending on the oil you use may also help fade marks and blemishes. Coconut oil is a winner in this regard.

She's spitting a lot of real knowledge. Real old knowledge. Science, and technology has evolved. She's holding on to her O.G. medicine for dear life. Each year there are hundreds of new dermatological discoveries that cancel out or add to what we once thought. Also, many of the serums, antioxidants, peptides, vitamins, etc. Are super cheap and very high quality. The science of what things like hydraulic acid, niacinamide, alpha arbutin, peptides, et al. do for the skin is undeniable. She's funny to watch though. Definitely entertaining.
it is old knowledge, they now sell serums on their website. I do believe she is right when she said that the serums do not penetrate the skin, but they can still help your skin.
@@starraider2291 not necessarily, i can put water on my face and layer it with peanut butter. doesn’t mean that my skin will act like a sponge and absorb the nutrients
@@serenacarter1910 That's not what I mean't. Products containing water or liquid will penetrate the skin and absorb. When you add any oil or lubricants on top of it, it hold the water in longer to moisturize longer allowing your skin to absorb the product.
Skin Science has come a long way since you've been in school. Molecular structure of products is ever changing for deeper penetration. Which is why spas don't use those ancient galvanic machines anymore. 😒😒
