I am sorry to hear yours is loud; did you purchase it new? If yes, you might be able to return it to the distributor for a replacement. If you purchased it used or on Ebay or similar, it is likely not returnable. There are multiple groups on Facebook; are you on FB? If yes, my favorite group is "Addi King Loomers & Knits" Perhaps scroll through some of the older posts and see if anyone else has had the problem, or make a post yourself. Good luck!

I SET UP MY HAT ON WASTE YARN OF CONTRAST COLOUR AND DO 10/12 ROWS KNIT ONE ROW ONLY WITH CONTRAST CROCHET COTTON. THEN USE YOUR MAIN YARN (yarns) AND COMPLETE YOUR HAT. ( THE 110, 120, 140 ROWS ETC. KNIT 10/12 ROWS WASTE YARN(CONTRAST COLOUR. ### NOW KNIT ONE ROW CROCHET COTTON, THEN 10/12 ROWS WASTE YARN. 1 ROW CROCHET COTTON. THEN KNIT YOUR NEXT HAT AS BEFORE. ( DO AS MANY HATS AS YOU WISH IN THIS FASHION AND LEAVE THE LAST WASTE YARN ON THE MACHINE TO THE READY FOR YOUR NEXT LOT OF HATS. FINISH OFF YOUR HATS AS USUAL. ( JUST PULL OUT THE CROCHET COTTON TO SEPERATE EACH HATS.) YE KNITTERS I HOPE WITH PRACTICE, WILL LOVE THE IDEA I HAVE GIVEN YOU. They are so gorgeous 🥰 I’m glad to see that it’s so easy to knit with alpaca yarn on the circular machine as we tend to use quite a bit of alpaca/merino blend, which is so soft and warm and more affordable than straight alpaca. Hi Nikki, great video! would like to ask if you have the same issue, that when it reaches to the black needles, it becomes more difficult to crank and the machine cracks loudly when you pass by the black needle and the row counter increases. I think this might be only the issue for the machine with mechanical row counter?

@@garychamberlin1117 Thanks for so quick reply! I just received it today :). I find some videos online, some machines are with electronic row counter and some are with mechanic one. In some reviews, it is said it is normal to have this crank noise when it comes to the back needles due to the mechanic row counter. I checked the offical website and now the product is only with mechanic row counter. So I guess they have changed to this model to save battery. When did you buy this machine?

I have a question for you, Nikki, and I’m hoping if I post it here you’ll see it: I bought a new Addi, and it seems like it has a lot of play in the crank handle. Is that normal? If I had known I could have bought it from an authorized dealer, I would have done that. When I contacted the seller, they suggest I tear the machine apart to see if a screw is loose. I’ve made only a few hats, and that seems kind of crazy to me. The machine seems to work fine, but the slight wobble worries me a little, and I’m wondering if I should send it back and try again.
@garychamberlin1117
@garychamberlin1117 2 года назад
It's hard to know without seeing it, what is a "lot of play". Mine has some play, I would never have recommended to have it torn apart by the buyer; it has a one year warranty and if you are within that timeframe I would contact the seller to make plans for an exchange for a new one!
@cynthiasymons
@cynthiasymons 2 года назад
@@garychamberlin1117 Thanks. It is working fine, but when I wind the crank, it is does not wind flat against the side of the machine (as it was likely designed to). What concerns me, though, is that at first I did not notice any wobbling, and it seems as though as I use it more, it is “wobbling” more and more. I had read online that people had trouble getting Addi to enforce the warranty if they had not purchased it from an authorized dealer. So I’m trying to figure out if I have a machine that is defective-and if I should return it before the return window closes and try again. When I watch videos online, it seems like a little wobbling is not unusual…so maybe it’s nothing to worry about.

Even though this video is a little bit older it was still very informative I would never think that because of the thickness of alpaca that one could get it to go through the addi. @nikkigriffith9703
@nikkigriffith9703 3 года назад
You are not doing anything wrong. I find that the looseness of the weave depends on the yarn, the type, thickness, etc. I use alpaca yarn, both huacaya and suri, and they both behave very differently in the machine. I typically do not hold any tension other than what comes from being in the yarn holder. I would try different types of yarn and see if that makes a difference.

Hi, the best video and well explained BUT what if the person wants a pom pom? It's reversible so how can you add a pom pom please? It would have to be removable/detachable I guess because you'd want one pom on one side and then remove it to use on the other side when wearing it on the other side. How to do this please? If you could please explain and possibly make a video how to attach removable pom. thank you in advance
@nikkigriffith9703
@nikkigriffith9703 3 года назад
Hello Fernando! Thank you for your question. The way of attaching the pom pom shown actually shows how to create it using part of the hat tube itself, not a separate pom pom. And you are right, when you do it like that, it is harder to become reversible because then there is the pom next to the wearer's head. There are a number of other videos about how to make a create a pom pom on RU-vid, and not even necessarily for a hat made with the addi, but the process would be the same. There are little looms that make it easy and fast to create a pom pom, but I have seen videos that just use things available at hand. Again, thank you for watching my video!
