All things 182. This is a blink-182 fan page channel following the band blink-182 and the blink trend such as various side tracks by Mark Hoppus, Travis Barker, and Tom Delonge.
I used to blame him when I was younger. I just couldn’t fathom the “selfishness” of this act. I always saw it as the catalyst that planted the seeds of discourse between the members. But now after growing up a bit, I can totally understand where he was coming from. As much as it sucked for Mark (he’s my favourite of the two), I think Tom was right in doing what he did. As an Artist, you have the right to pursue your ideas. The passion was clearly visible. BCR was a legitimately great album. The AVA stuff is also really cool, and his love for Space , Astronomy, and Science is really evident in AvA’s sound. Even after all this, he was still nice enough to feature Mark in one BCR song. At the same time, I understand Mark’s pain too. Blink was like their baby. Something that they started together. And then when your best friend starts a side project, you obviously expect to be a part of it. But he takes a stand on it, stating that it’s something he wants to do alone, in order to harness his musics vision. Travis on the other hand was with The Transplants. He probably joined BCR because there wouldn’t have been a better choice. People often don’t realise, it’s hard to keep a band going. Especially one that was as big as blink. It’s really crazy how many things they went through together.
Exactly. Tom was growning. I know Mark felt left out especially when Travis got involved with BCR, and his feelings were vaild. But they did need space and it did give Mark the opportunity to grow himself and make some bangers with +44.
I know of a couple people who were diagnosed with rare cancers that were not in their family history within 6 months of the Covid Vaccine. I also have a number of friends who finally have come out saying they have neurological issues since having it and someone who had a heart attack not long after the jab. If it ever be a movie about Blink 182 I would wanna see it in a heartbeat and just watch the coming of age of Tom, Scott and Mark. I honestly feel the passion when they made music by listening to Chesire Cat and Dude Ranch. Dude Ranch production wise was beautifully made! When I realized “Man Overboard” was about him I honestly felt sad for him. I wondered if Travis and Scott exchanged words and a fight almost happened between them cause he was being replaced? Idk I’m just thinking what really went wrong. Cause you barely see a lot of interviews where Mark and Tom speak about Scott. Yeah Travis is an great drummer but Scott Raynor was humble beginnings. What’s wild is that the Aquabats picked up Scott after the fallout and Mark spoked about them in a interview being on a tour with them. They probably can tell he was a dope ass drummer and they needed someone like him so maybe that there was another opportunity. I just think Scott is a man that didn’t wanna be famous cause he knew the consequences that came with it and that’s fine. He is a legend in his own right of the beginning of Blink 182
He’ll always be famous for the work he done either way. He’s an original and when they get inducted into the HOF he better get inducted too. Without Scott. Blink-182 would be nothing. There are two Urethra Chronicles movies but none with Scott. There has to be footage. They could name it the Pre Urethra Chronicles 😂
they fired him bc of his drinking, scott also said that he thought them firing him was the right decision. he also wanted to sign to a different record label at the start and after that he said he felt like they were asking him to make too many compromises. this is all according to wikipedia so might not be 100 percent true but he was definitely fired because of his drinking
@@judfps that’s true. I did a story on this when I was younger for college. I asked the guys for info and had them confirm it all. I was just a young dumb kid then and didn’t realize how important all of that info was. Some teacher has it now. Not even in my hands 😢

@@judfps me too man. It was a project where every student in the class had to write about someone famous (dead or alive). We had to have resources and that was where the entire thing got ugly and complicated. I reached out to blink and several of their acquaintances in hopes of confirming all of the information that I had, assuming they would know the correct info. I had written about them up until that time which was probably around 2003/2004. Most of the information they confirmed is a lot of information that Wikipedia mentions but with more detailed information. Blink started on drugs, skateboarding, and broken homes. Greatest band of all time in my opinion. Stay cool bro 😎

Fugazi!!! I loved the boxcar racer album so much. It hit in the feels. A lot of the comments are talking about how Travis was obviously still in the band and mark was featured - i think the key difference here probably is writing process. Blink probably had to be more collaborative and here Tom Probably just wanted to come up with his own sounds. Travis has songwriting credits but not sure if it’s just for the drums or other parts. I’m sure there were other internal politics at play with mark which sucks but I can’t imagine being stuck with people this much and not clashing. It happens.
I think the biggest underlying problem (regarding why BCR broke up blink) was that Tom didn't communicate very well. Mark had a perspective on what was going on, with Travis seemingly in the band. I believe Tom when he said he was being cheap asking Travis to play drums, instead of pay for a session musician. Including Travis is songwriting credits in lieu of payment is also my speculation . But in any relationship, if there's a really big misunderstanding, it needs to be worked out before resentment builds.

Most of y’all don’t understand how bands work FR. BCR was toms project to which he had full control of. All of this shit only started because people like you guys make fake drama bullshit, like blink was fully broken up and mark and Tom hated each other or some shit. Tom wanted to do something on his own, and just cause he ended up getting Travis to drum for it (like woah, what a crime dude. Throw Tom in prison) despite the fact Travis will literally drum for anything he likes, y’all act like that’s the biggest blow. Bands are complicated, power is complicated. Bands either work as a whole unit, or with a leader who decides everything. And it’s fair for Tom to want to decide what he wants to do. Blink-182 can still be a band, and Tom can still do his own projects and passions. Both of these things can be true
Yeah I can definitely hear some fugazi influence in box car racer. Fugazi was the first CD I ever bought. I'm old enough to remember the transition from cassettes to Cds.
he done it to get away from mark ,marks been holding tom back for years ,marks a cool guy but he sings songs about high school when hes 40 ,guys never grown up
Boxcar Racer is a treasure. I got the CD when it came out, or shortly thereafter when I was about 11 or 12. I still have it and listen to it. I wish he would have done more with the band, but I hope he at least comes back to Blink.
Later on, yes! But according to Scott, he started the band and Tom sorta verified this! Mark was asked about Scott's comments and Mark said he will let Scott's statement stand for itself!
I spent so many countless hours as a teen just sitting in my room with BoxCars album fucking jamming, and I would just get lost in the lyrics, they really spoke to me and explained all of my feelings trying to grow up as an awkward teen. This is probably the greatest album ever made.
