We were overworked. So I started a new band. This guy! 😂

This is still a record I go back to the most. It was incredibly raw. And Tom's voice was killer. Of course, Untitled is my favourite Blink record which carried much of the tones. Just brilliance.

Tom is most influential singer in 2021 emo & pop punk. His annunciation is today's official singing accent.

Without Box Car Racer, there wouldn't be the Untitled record which I hailed the Box Car Racer album to influence the record that became a Blink-182 masterpiece.

Boxcar Racer is a treasure. I got the CD when it came out, or shortly thereafter when I was about 11 or 12. I still have it and listen to it. I wish he would have done more with the band, but I hope he at least comes back to Blink.

I have two disc bulges and they are legit painful as hell. His severity would of sucked SO much. Poor guy.

I truly think he wanted to go "solo" since that time already, or at least, be the center of a band. Exactly what it did with BCR and later on with AvA.

I understand Tom, if you don't grow, if you don't do what you feel deep inside is right, you stop growing as an artist and as a person.

Box car racer album helped me in my life in ways tom will never understand. It was what helped me in my darkest times

Fugazi!!! I loved the boxcar racer album so much. It hit in the feels. A lot of the comments are talking about how Travis was obviously still in the band and mark was featured - i think the key difference here probably is writing process. Blink probably had to be more collaborative and here Tom Probably just wanted to come up with his own sounds. Travis has songwriting credits but not sure if it’s just for the drums or other parts. I’m sure there were other internal politics at play with mark which sucks but I can’t imagine being stuck with people this much and not clashing. It happens.

I used to blame him when I was younger. I just couldn’t fathom the “selfishness” of this act. I always saw it as the catalyst that planted the seeds of discourse between the members. But now after growing up a bit, I can totally understand where he was coming from. As much as it sucked for Mark (he’s my favourite of the two), I think Tom was right in doing what he did. As an Artist, you have the right to pursue your ideas. The passion was clearly visible. BCR was a legitimately great album. The AVA stuff is also really cool, and his love for Space , Astronomy, and Science is really evident in AvA’s sound. Even after all this, he was still nice enough to feature Mark in one BCR song. At the same time, I understand Mark’s pain too. Blink was like their baby. Something that they started together. And then when your best friend starts a side project, you obviously expect to be a part of it. But he takes a stand on it, stating that it’s something he wants to do alone, in order to harness his musics vision. Travis on the other hand was with The Transplants. He probably joined BCR because there wouldn’t have been a better choice. People often don’t realise, it’s hard to keep a band going. Especially one that was as big as blink. It’s really crazy how many things they went through together.

I am sure everyone noticed this, and that was when he was talking about what happened to his back, It was ALMOST identical to when he was talking about that on his start the machine documentary back in the 2000s! the way his face looked, his voice, and what he did with his hands, It looked very similar!

What I took away from this: Tom's back was blown out.

"We were exhausted, we were over worked" - goes to make an album instead of taking a break "We needed space from each other" - gets Travis on the album "Ive been doing at that point five or 6 different records with that sound" - makes an album with a very similar sound.

Tip: keep making my heart cry bitch tears like all your music does and y’all will go down like gods!

Yeah I can definitely hear some fugazi influence in box car racer. Fugazi was the first CD I ever bought. I'm old enough to remember the transition from cassettes to Cds.

I didn't really like Tom Delonge in Blink-182 but I really liked Box Car Racer. But I did like Blink-182 anyways. So I guess the style a person does really matters.

Most of y’all don’t understand how bands work FR. BCR was toms project to which he had full control of. All of this shit only started because people like you guys make fake drama bullshit, like blink was fully broken up and mark and Tom hated each other or some shit. Tom wanted to do something on his own, and just cause he ended up getting Travis to drum for it (like woah, what a crime dude. Throw Tom in prison) despite the fact Travis will literally drum for anything he likes, y’all act like that’s the biggest blow. Bands are complicated, power is complicated. Bands either work as a whole unit, or with a leader who decides everything. And it’s fair for Tom to want to decide what he wants to do. Blink-182 can still be a band, and Tom can still do his own projects and passions. Both of these things can be true

Box car was an awesome album but blinks self titled album is the best piece of work any of the three blink members have done. I love +44 AVA but toms ego ripped up the band. I appreciate all the music afterwards but it’s not the same
