Our channel encompasses aspects of RV living and adventures on a budget and in a "Van Life" style, call us "RVan Lifers"! We are Canadians but our current video series is exploring the west coast of America. Our next series will be all aboot beautiful British Columbia, eh!
@@hudsonthebird It depends on what type of fish you are after. Check out the Google for best times to catch different species. Don't forget to check the regulations!
Y'know what is kinda pathetic? Prairie Creek SP and I think most all SPs and Nps were all built in the 1930s by the WPA with federal $$. Have ANY parks been built since? None that I know of. !
Ice Plants is what those succulents are called. In 1980, my wife and I applied to be caretakers of that Battery Point light house museum, and were conditionally accepted, but when we told them my wife was pregnant, we were turned down BECAUSE at high tide you can't walk to shore. As caretakers, you reside on the rock. Ironically, the hospital WAS right down the block at the time. We ended up only living in Crescent City for a few months, and we loved it. I built a landsailer and would sail up and down the big, wide beaches - on the beach (3-wheeled cart). It was summer, 110 inland, and 55 deg. in CC. We had our down jackets on and shorts. At the beach, we'd see people just come into town, in shorts and T-shirts, and think they were crazy. After a few minutes, I think they were off to get more clothes. But just a few minutes drive east out of town, you'd be smokin' hot and jumping in the river to chill. Lots of fun. John, California
When I was a kid, someone got the hare brained idea of turning the old lighthouse into a spook house for Halloween. It was extremely dark, fortunately none of us went off the side, near the end kids were wading through ocean water to get out. Fun memories
They filmed some of jurassic Park in fern canyon and return of the jedi in jed smith state park. They moved that tripod from its original spot. The tidal wave moved it off its original foundation. Do not go out on the jetti. I used to fish off the jetti till i got hit by a sneaker wave. It almost pulled me back into the ocean. Luckily i was hanging onto a rock or i would of went in. Cc can be a pretty place but no work.
The sneaker wave situation sounds pretty intense, glad you made it out alive. The jetty is pretty cool and there was a lot of signs stating that we should not go out there but there were a bunch of people already out there walking around so we went out as well. Prolly best to heed the warning signs. Visit the lighthouse instead.
I have no idea why this place isn't more populated It was beautiful Beach, Mountains, surrounded by the world's greatest forest The water dogs! I loved this place
You were in Crescent City and did not drive to Jedediah Smith Park. You missed the best part of the area. Across the highway from Trees of Mystery is Hidden Beach trail.
@@RollingwiththeRoss ok brother. Your vehicle will not fit on Howland Hill Road but you can drive to the yellow gate and bicycle the 8 mile road. The Grove of Titans is the premier destination on Mill Creek trail. The state gave up trying to keep people out of the grove so they re- built the trail during covid. 25 minute hike from your car door to the grove. 4 of the top 5 biggest coastal redwoods in the world. Hyperion w372 feet tall 40 miles south of Crescent City. The four Titans are very large in diameter and over 300 ft. tall. I used to hide the “ society” trail with branches in an effort to keep people . The trees were a secret for 15 years until an arborist published the longitudinal and latitudinal location. The rangers don’t like the man. I used to sit in the grove for 1 hour in total silence and saw no one. Now it’s a tourist stop.
@@RollingwiththeRoss I’m a Jambalaya freak who has consumed a lot in New Orleans and Baton Rouge. It’s the real deal in Crescent City. Covid lock down started 3 days after Michael and Jennifer opened. They could only sell take out. I support them. The Chart House in the same parking lot has good fish and chips. At Sea Quake I get the fish tacos. Wicked Aunt Tammy is a good micro beer at 9.4 %. Wicked Aunt Tammy herself is a trip. Crescent City has new pavement on the street going to Sea Quake.
That's really Great Kenneth! Crescent City is a wonderful place, we had great times there and we hope to go back soon. Thanks for watching our channel, we'll be back soon with all new content.

What great times the two of you have had. I’m totally investing in a wetsuit. It looked like you had too much fun. We like to go to Georgian Bay. I think it be a lot more fun with a wet suit. Hmm 🤔 Glad you made it back over the border. 👮♂️🇨🇦 Season 1 has been kickass. You’re sure rocking the editing. You need an episode featuring Niagara. 😃😃😃 Have a relaxing Sunday with Cheri!!! 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇺🇸🌊🏝
The wetsuit was a game changer, keeps you warm and extra buoyant! We're glad you enjoyed the show, Niagara would be a great place to film an episode 😀 Great idea! Cheers and we hope you have a great wknd 🍻
Awe the last one!! What am I supposed to do on Sundays😊 Another great video showing short snaps of places. Hope you will be back soon❤❤ loved the "Hi Mom". Looking forward to seeing the next bunch of videos Everyone should check out Rollin' with the Ross's🦋☺️
Welcome back to Canada. 🇨🇦 Stunning views as always. Absolutely loving the Ross’ Ranch. Your yard is beautiful!! I had to close my eyes watching that drive up the mountain. 🙈🙈🙈🙈 I can see why you love Salmon Arm. Looking forward to season 2. Till next week. Cheers 😁
Hi this is Jack. We are learning about garbage art in class. Tomorrow in my class we are watching this after the announcments because it fits right in with earth day.
Hello Jack! That is great news, thanks for promoting our channel and Washed Ashore. We believe it is a great cause and I'm glad you kids talk about it in school. Happy Earth Day kids!
Another great video!! Your videos are like a history/geography lesson 😊 So interesting - nice that you explain the how and why things are like they are - example Wash Away Beach. Looking forward to next week😊🦋
Glad you enjoyed the video as much as we enjoyed creating it. Wash Away Beach is a great place with an interesting story, we hope to return soon. Thanx for watching, see you next week!
I have to agree with Mike Myers. Another excellent episode. We gather as a family every Sunday to watch. James watches in Copenhagen. You’re a pro putting them together. 🌏 We all watch in amazement. 😁😁 We are looking forward to season 2.
Love the fire on the beach. Amazing sunset. I can hear my dad saying, “Cheri needs an NYFD hat.” Lol. 😜 I’ve added so many new places to my bucket list. Thank you for helping keep the beaches clean. 🗑🚮🌊🐟🏄♀️
@@RollingwiththeRoss no doubt. I can't remember one this cold. I moved down here from up north in '88, on april 10th. It was +38C in ashcroft when we were passing through and stopped at the drag races.
Another great video!!! Loved the vintage vehicles - the seals were really neat loved the Carousel. Would be nice to live in that house that is fenced. Nice you have the ocean sounds - another great piece of work👍
Another great video - the museum was very interesting - love that big hole. The kites were neat. Now the trick is to get that plastic out of all bodies of water. 🦋☺️
Just crazy how much garbage is in the ocean. What a way to raise awareness. We will definitely make a game of picking up garbage when we go places now. Amazing art pieces.
