I think Gm / Fords best offerings were down under. In the US we got absolute garbage for the most part. I also enjoyed Top Gear Australia, I found em just as enjoyable as the originals.
Both were great cars, only now do we understand what we lost. In terms of aussie history and aussie design the F6 with the aussie engineering and the 'gull' barra turbo is the legend, not a vauxhall with US crate motor. Buy one, love it and store it in a shed....
I've had a few falcon inline 6's, very few problems. My current drive is an Au, the last of the single overhead cam engines, I've been very happy with it, and the car overall. I'd buy ford in the future because of my positive experience with the falcon.
Confusing drag race.. they are the same cars which had been used in other comparative videos and the F6 did not suffer that severe on take off. They are not loading them up, TC on is not going to help with getting power down either, all it does is create bogging down. On another note, I would have loved to have seen the British team when they came to Australia test drive the Turbo Falcon and to see their views on it. Obviously they have used the HSV on some of their feature events but sadly not one of the best bang for buck tuning engines Australia has given the world. (yanks are putting them in Fox body's and Mustangs for Christ sake)
Two racing drivers...yeah right... your at a circuit so what are the LAP TIMES! I Don’t care about burnouts... Australians in general focus way too much on engines power output...they Both have way more than enough, what about the rest of the car? Chassis, suspension, brakes, gearbox, diff, power delivery... WEIGHT!
Im surprised about the amount of Ford fans having rants in the comment section. Sure the ford might be faster but when was the last time the ford wasn’t fugly and have a decent gearbox
@Jimmy Valentine real drivers use a manual, any fool can accelerate and brake, like driving a dodgem at the fun fair. Use your brain rather than the cars brain.!!
HUGE bloody shame that these vehicles are no longer manufactured because of lack of sales why didn't they export their cars? The Australian car scene is a great example of what is wrong with this country why can so many other manufacturers survive but not ours? If it were not for all our natural resources and being taxed the limit this country would be a third world one everything looks fine but we pay a heavy price for everything in OZ.... end rant.
