So during an initial cycling of a tank, should I treat is daily with Prime? You mentioned something about it detoxifying the ammonia for 24-48 hour hours. What happens to it after that time? I’m currently using the recommend amount of Stability.
Wouldn't breeding thos 2 together make a flowerhorn I know there's the midevil but I'm sure even that would technically be a flowerhorn cuz breeding these fish together is how flowerhorns r made
I wish metal stands were more commonly available. 26 years ago my dad gave me a metal (iron) stand my grandmother used. Only for a standard 10 gallon. That thing was solid as heck. Using a beautiful wooden one now on a 40 gallon custom made by a local guy. I probably asked him 3 times about it being very sturdy and able to handle the weight. He assured me, but frankly I personally prefer the metal ones. Or at least wood reenforced with metal.
Appreciate the information. I have the same results, sadly both orders didn’t worked for me and end up with dead fish on three separate occasions. Thank you for the info Travis👍🏼‼️
I noticed you can buy just the diaphragms, do you happen to know what size they are? I'm assuming the large. Large: Outside diameter: 3.3cm/1.3 inch, Inner diameter: 2.4cm/0.94 inch, Height: 1.5cm/0.59 inch
Hello I’m a bit confused on how you got the 15 1/4” and 23” part from. Would it not be 14 1/4” and 22”? Because the wood is 2x4 it would be 18 1/4” - 4” (bc of the wood it’s attached to) and 30” - 8” (bc of the wood it’s attached to). I am trying to scale it to my measurements and want to make sure I don’t mess it up (my measurements are L:24 1/2” W:13” & H: 30”).
I bought a bottle of GE 1 hundred% silicone. It’s the all purpose stuff that you used in your video. It says 100% silicone but above there says seven years most free silicone. Is this still safe to use on aquarium?
@@TrafishAquatics I was concerned because the original G one was sold to another company in 2020. And the original label does not say seven years mold, free silicone. And I was very concerned because I had already used it on my aquarium. So you think it’s still safe for the fish.
Great tips. Thanks so much from the aquarium beginner !!! I actually am going through a bacterial bloom. Learned from internet. Sorry PETCO but they are absolutely no help!!
I have a question about lowering ph by adding driftwood. Eventually over time and doing water changes the water will start to clear up. Does that mean you have to add more or replace the driftwood that is already in the tank? Or will the driftwood continue to help keep ph levels down forever?
I have a approximately. 40 gal octogone I just dug out of storage for some. It's fairly crusty and the word was it was a leaker. Should I clean first or after resealing?
Ugh! Thank you!! You’re the first person to even mention recycling glass from something OTHER than an aquarium. I’ve been nervous trying to find what kind of glass I can use!
Will any of the silicones work for attaching a submersible LED light to the underside of my plastic lid for my 20 gallon aquarium? I want the light to be above my plants instead of inside the aquarium mainly because of lack of space and because when you look in the aquarium you get blinded by the light
No however there is some truth to it, the air stone makes smaller bubbles and alot more of them, which in turn creates more lift essentially making it work harder and more efficient
@@TrafishAquatics thank you, why don't people just cut some more filter out and put it in the middle tube. Would do the same as an air stone and less fiddly lol
Thank you for showing the comparison of a baby and full grown in a 20 gal. I work at a PetSmart and we always tell people that goldfish get HUGE (most people don't like hearing that and many try to fight us on it because they're adamant about putting multiple goldfish in a 10-30 gallon). We have a couple months old comet that's some inches larger than the ones in the feeder tanks that we show people as reference to how they will grow quickly and we had some photos of full grown comets being 8-12 inches long and that always surprises people when we show them. I'm here to learn more about goldfish care to improve their quality of life in the store I'm at and to be able to share important info with goldfish keepers.
How do you know bacteria only grows to load?so if you have 3 different filters in aquarium with 1 fish there’s only a 50% load on one of the filters and the other 2 have none?
