26:36 you said the type 91 torpedo could be released at an altitude of 300 meters. That's 984.25 feet. Good luck with all that! Wikipedia says, release altitude is 66 feet. Just FYI
"Valuable lessons were gleamed...". Gimme a break! Since the Vietnam war the 'endless' conflicts have on increased in size, scope and tempo! The purpose: to profit from continual war.
i truely belive that this plane, NOT JET, was designed from the start for ground combined arm's support. to be the heavy low and slow in conjuntion with attack choppers. which the AF ALSO didnt want the Army or Marines to have. total BS!!!! troop's first and alway's .
This is an excellent video! I’ve been to Edward’s many times, and there is so much history there. The sled facility has basically been abandoned , but you can still see the tracks and other parts.
I been to Edwards AFB TDY about five times in 1980s and 90s. Like going there. Love the history of the base and the endless sonic booms. I remember when they were filming the movie The Right Stuff and by luck watched two Space Shuttle landings. Dry, Hot and dusty, I miss going there, Great video.👍🦂🌵✈🌡☀🪖
My father is a WWII veteran. He fought with the 1st Infantry Division in Aachen Germany, the Hurtgen Forrest, and the Battle of the Bulge. He was even awarded a Silver Star in the Bulge. He is still going strong at 105 years old. When the war was over in Europe he came home to Philadelphia on leave. After his leave was over, he was supposed to report back for training for the invasion of Japan. Of course that never happened. He told me that if they had to invade Japan, he would never would have made it home. Much respect to all the B-29 crews.
These men are hero’s and inspire soldiers all over the world to this day even in the uk and inspire men like me to do are duty to the best of are ability R.I.P warriors and stand down you duty is done
I was an navy aviation ordnance AO2 during the Vietnam war. My specialty was both the F-4 and the A-4 I really liked how easy it was to access and repair the weapons systems on the Phantom. The F-4 was a very rugged fighter and could handle a lot of damage without going down.
I know many will disagree but the phantom is the sexist jet fighter ever!! Ive loved her since i can remember. Im not talking capabilities, im talk look ,style
I'm with you on that. When I was working on a degree in computer aided drafting and design, my project for the three dimensional design class was actually the F4. I painstakingly hand drew, measured, scaled, etc., etc. the jet then drew it on the computer, extruded everything...long story short I aced the class and the instructor literally framed my work and put it on his office wall - with my permission of course. Me? It's on a ZIP disc, which is totally obsolete! I have a ZIP drive, but my computer won't even recognize it. Thankfully, I was able to make one large printout which is tucked away and hidden so well I forgot where the hell I put it!!
I had a die-cast metal toy of one as a kid. I have always thought it looked so cool, with the angled wing and tail surfaces. It looked solid, mean, and capable; it looked like business, like a real war machine.
As an Air Force Veteran I never heard this! This is part of history and Air Force and Marine history even Army! What's the deal, cuz he was top harsh, too Pappy Boyinton for you?❤😂 it should be in the military history, I find it fascinating! Salute 🎉
I got to meet him once at the Reno Air Races. I orobably babbled like a star-struck idiot. Funny how I idolized Yeager when I was a kid, but came to respect Bud much more as I got older. Fair winds, sir.
