I had heard that I should take a compass with me and learnt that it was a necessity... A very strange experience as a guy with a more than just a bit of Kiwi bush experience to think he's heading East to have the compass tell me I'm heading Nth.. Doubted the compass for a fair while then decided to trust it and got back just on dark...
