i know many like the full exhaust and fender delete with re-flash but in my opinion it is not needed first of all my 500 gos around 120mph its stock no mods thats fast enough for street i seam to find it fast, have you gone that fast yet wow hold on the stock muffler is nice a quiet at hwy speeds real smooth the fender helps in aid of the rain not splashing your back its there for a reason though i like the looks with the fender delete and im not going to ride in rain, the wing mirrors are useless put on the stock ones i had them and cant see crap,so with the re-flash to gain 5hp and all the rest of the mods the cost is really not worth it in my opinion unless you plan on racing on the track so save your money and just ride it the way it is you will be happy
Yeah the flash and exhaust isnt so much for the HP gain but more for just the overall driving experience for the bike for me. Everything just wakes up with a flash. You may gain a few mph more but I could care less about that. I personally love the sound of an aggressive exhaust sound over the stock. But that's just a personal opinion honeslty. And fender delete I also personally think the bike looks funny with the stock fender on it. And thats with all bikes to me. It gives it a more cleaner and sleek look to the bike with a deleted fender. I also never ride in the rain so I wouldn't know about it blocking the rain from hitting your back. But again we are all different and we like different things. I appreciate the comment. Stay safe out there.
I have the exact same bike, color and all. I put the iStunt slip-on on mine and it solved the heel touching the heatshield issue I was having and it is louder. I'm waiting to buy an aftermarket windshield for mine that fits better than the old 400 ones. I got the graves fender delete which is fine. I like your LED turn signals and plan on getting some like that. I'm getting 60.9 average MPG on mine which prolly has something to do with my area, which is very rural in SE Alabama where the lowest speed limit on avenues is 45 mph. What levers are those? They look awesome! I concur with the rider triangle but as a "beginner" bike, it helps me to remember to use my legs to grip the tank and take the weight off of my hands. Maneuverability is wicked awesome on the 500. I can turn at low speeds in a circle that is smaller than the width of two parking spots side by side at slow speed. It is such a fun bike and I love mine. I now understand why the Ninja 400/500 is the consensus best starter bike and IMO the one factor that sets it apart is positive neutral finder. Positive neutral finder is the single factor that turned me away from contenders in favor of Kawasaki. Finding neutral is simple and almost impossible to mess up, which is great for beginners. She does scream at high speeds because she's geared so low, once you get to 100 mph (in Mexico), it takes a while for it to get faster. I've had mine to 117 (in Mexico) and had to let off of it. It took a LONG time to get from 100 to 117 also so don't be trying to outrun the cops on it. That's not what the Ninja 500 is for anyways. The fuel guage is wonky. It'll have 3 bars when on the sidestand, then take it out and it'll go up to 5 bars. It's something you just have to get used to, but it is wonky. Sorry for the long comment, but I was typing comments as I was watching.
It certainly is a perfect beginner bike. And definitely gonna try and run from any cops on this thing. Wouldn't work out very well. I made a video on the levers if you wanna hop over to my page and I have link in description for them in that video.
Yeah I concur. I haven't gotten any aftermarket mirrors because I'm concerned with function over looks. I'm a somewhat new rider and I use the mirrors often. They have to work for me to be confident.
Unfortunately for me the stock mirrors presented the same problem in which I'm taller and broader so my shoulder is right in the way of mirror. I have to lean sideways and kinda duck my shoulder to look over and out the mirror for behind me. With these smaller mirrors I can just lift my arm a little and look under my arm. It's just these particular mirrors are terrible quality and they never stay put and move around a ton.
Love the video 👍. I have the red 500 and love it i actually came from riding harley's and I personally love riding this bike. Plenty of power to ride and get around cars if needed. Can't wait to see what happens one you add more and adjust the tune. BTW why is your garage completely empty? 😂 Wish mine was that clean.
It can over time cause damage as it is messing with your fuel to air ratio hints why it backfires. The bike sounds great without taking the resonator out though as well so honestly I do see a need for taking it out in my opinion.
Not sure what you are referring to as the drum but all that was replaced was the muffler. No other settings. And it is only bad if it backfires and pops which it does not unless you take the resonator out and then it does pop a little bit even then not enough to damage anything.
@@SethmotoX thank you, I would like to purchase the same mount as yours. Quadlock CS is telling me to use the brake/clutch mount. Which is weird. Is it possible to link it or tell me which one. Is really appreciate it. I’m a new rider so it’s much appreciated 🙏🏽
Hi, I wanted to ask you something, is this exhaust approved for the motorbike (ninja 500)??? because in Italy it is necessary for it to be certified with a suitable sheet. thank you so much you made a great video
This might be a dumb question but how do you pull those 3 wires at the start feels like I’m going to break them when I’m trying to unconnect them so I want to make sure?
Do you know Kawasaki quoted me 3+ hrs to fit $190;oxford heated grips (they're 🤬 dreaming. im financially in good place and im not paying that. I have 500 40th anniversary so same bike essentially
Im going to re-watch all your vids then time to get a few kms in (🤬 break in and i have to do this again damn it. I understand why one girl zx4rr gave bike to friends for break in. I don't trust anyone else for that). Continue inspiring others brother and stay safe out there 🤙 from Australia as always
Definitely not shaky on freeway even over 80 (here 130kmh. I was actually surprised at how well they do even with semi trailers flying past in opposite direction. I've been riding with very high winds + rain etc (Melbourne, Aus.) and apart from being a little cold you will love the stability and handling of ninja 500 (no Oxford heated grips after 3hr labour quote)
Im tempted to reflash etc but I only just bought my 24 Ninjas and in Australia you have a 2yr unlimited km/miles warranty. To me the reason why I even buy new cars is for the peace of mind vs used. Used almost same price and pray you don't get an issue as then it works out more than new (i can understand due to financial reasons and I forget about that angle sometimes. I just bought x4 40th anniversary so my life can't get better 🎉)
Good to see you out riding enjoying yourself. I don't like some people who don't come riding because of the rain. (Pussies lol) Stay safe and continue living your dream ❤ from Australia
Seeing the air box under that tank need to do some air box mods. If you’re not giving it more air with the more fuel / timing flash it won’t be noticeable.
H I just came across your channel, great vid. I'm looking to purchase my first bike and loving the 500. Do you have a list of you mods loving the mirror's. also what color would you say that is looks grey but then white, so dope. thx
The color is called Metallic Moondust Grey. And I all I really don't the the bike is a slip-on exhaust, high flow air filter, tinted windshield, the slim mirrors, finder eliminator kit and I had the ECU flashed. Depending on what you plan on doing with the bike whether your a casual rider or you race it or your a speed demon I would recommend atleast a full exhaust system. It just wasn't in the cards for me at the time as they can be pretty pricey.
Hey. I hear that this bike has a service light that comes one when ever the bike needs an oil change. Seems like this can only be turned off at the dealer. Do you have anything like this?
1000 and 12000km are service intervals (unsure in miles). I always get my dealership to do log book service (2 yr UNLIMITED KM WARRANTY or 1 yr if you do log book service). I change oils and filters myself but for peace of mind i pay (pain with the first service bringing it in but break in always a b**ch)
I've heard same at this point as in dealership gets light off. WHY DON'T YOU GUYS USE DEALER? I LITERALLY GET*2 YEARS UNLIMITED KM KAWASAKI WARRANTY IN Australia *if dealer does first service and check
Unrelated but given your experience with the bike, I’ve owned mine for about 2 months now. Something that’s concerned me is in regards to engine temps and an empty coolant reservoir My reservoir tank (I believe it’s the overflow tank maybe?) on the upper right side of the bike is always empty even if I topped it off to the full line with some additional coolant, but my temp range while riding the bike stays within a 175-200 while riding at speeds of 50+ where as it’ll be 190-215 at lower speeds during stop and go traffic. Sometimes It will settle around 217-226 after I finish my ride and turn off the bike. My question for you is, what temps do you find your bike operating at (as I have the same 500 literally same color) and do you know anything more about why that reservoir is always empty? Because the manual says it should be between the F & L lines when bikes “cold” but mine never is. Thank you for your time.
I check my reservoir regularly and mine is always full. So to be honest I haven't looked at my temperatures much when riding. When I get a chance I will take a look and see what mine sit at while riding.
@@SethmotoXI appreciate the quick response, I’ll have to take it in to get looked at then, because mines always empty, and I’ve put a full new bottle of coolant in it but no leaks or issues. but I’m worried something else might be going on. Granted it’s been super hot as of late in Florida and I have ridden the bike hard at red line speeds multiple times so idk if that combined with the heat might be making my coolant evaporate quicker if that’s possible
As many has mentioned.. if based off of this video, the way you're riding won't really show the true power of the ninja 500. Kawasaki's are screamers. Known for sitting at high rpms. I think your review is a bit biased due to the way you're riding. You will definitely feel 10 horsepower addition on a 50hp motor. Even without the full exhaust, you gotta push it to really know and feel.
As I mentioned in the video if you just casually riding it your not going to really notice anything other then just the overall response of the bike. Also as I stated in the video it screams a little more at high rpms as said as well. Maybe you misunderstood.
I agree. Being honest in Australia for the added cost of reflash and exhaust will make buying a 650 so much better and cheaper to buy off the bat especially if you are already thinking it needs more power. 25 650 krt is another bike I'm buying (500 40th anniversary SE already own and the new colours are hard to ignore)
The cost between them was certainly close. Paid $5200 for the 500 abs but the 650s were $8900 with abs. So still a few grand cheaper. Unfortunately couldn't find any 650s anywhere near me. After exhaust and reflash and all that I still only put a few hundred into the bike. Maybe have $6k in it.
@@SethmotoXfair enough as i understand no 650's available (I was told October by one dealer and December by another 🤬) Forget about my comments bro!, I'm super happy for you and I'm watching you upgrade a 500, thinking of copying you says it all 👍. Prices in Australia it's working out little over $2k price difference (40th 500 cost me $10312 + $1300 interstate delivery vs $13000 for the 25 650 but waiting until October November for the 650 and 500 I had the choice of pay extra or miss out on 40th ). Being honest in the fortnight since the comments i bought another x3 40th anniversary another 500 + $900 delivery, zx4rr and zx6r both from dealership 3mins away 🎉. I hope you are enjoying your life. Obviously you are a hard worker and stick to that I'm 44 and first new bike crf300l in 2021. Never give up or listen to anyones opinions unless YOU want to
Also working out conversions you pay less for the 500 but more on the 650 USD vs AUD (500's cost $10312 & 10200 with 1 year on roads and the 650 KRT $13000 Aud). I keep coming back to watch your content so well done brother
@@SethmotoX the windshield on your bike and the windshield link aren't the same. The bottom Part on the Amazon is a v shape while yours is an upside down kawasaki shaped v. If that makes sense.
I had the similar version called KO Lightning and man does it sound amazing. Wondering tho if I ever put my resonator in the right way lol… do you have an install video ??
Great video, really appreciate it! I just did full Akrapovic exhaust, TST velocity stacks, AIS block off, and 2WDW ecu flash. This absolutely registers on the butt dyno haha. Why not just get the 650 as others have suggested? It's heavier, more expensive, higher insurance, and lets not pretend that you wouldn't modify it too : )
I can disagree with you on the 650. They were no where to be found in my area anyways. How do you like the full Akrapovic exhaust? Im gonna go ahead and get full exhaust next just haven't got around to it.
@@SethmotoX love it, no complaints. It sounds awesome, but it's not so loud that it gets annoying on long rides. In fact much over 70 and I can't hear it over the wind anyway lol.
Great review. Gave it a like! I said the same thing on my review. These bikes aren’t going to get much out of a flash. You should have gone full exhaust if you were going to bother with the flash anyway but you are right it’s just not enough to really do all the effort imo. Thanks for testing it out for all of us!
My 400 made a huge difference with upgraded air filter and velocity stacks ! Although the stacks are setup for stock it's Night and day . I'm saving up for complete exhaust and ecu flash then I'll change stacks around for that and modify air box . From my understanding with that setup your looking at 10 plus bhp.
Yo bro please help me I bought exact same as yours but my rim broke and I can’t find replacement help me find one please please my front rim and it’s my first I can’t find the size online or find a decent price any recommendations god bless you🙏🏾
If I'm not mistaken it is a 17"x3" rim size. Unfortunately though sense it is a new bike on the market it's gonna be pretty pricey. Most the ones I seen were $200-$300.
2016 Honda CBR500 I got flashed/Dyno tuned. Slip on exhaust, K&N air filter, the rest stock . Night and day difference. Smalls gains in HP, torque gains over entire range and fuel/air around 13.2 percent Bike puts down what it can make way quicker, is smoother and better throttle response It now starts up and sits at 2,500 revs before settling around 1,000 after its start up cycle. I'd recommend a tune/ecu flash..it opens up your bike to make all it can be. I'm happy with mine and bike sounds a bit more throaty to.
