Okay, i gotta ask. Since you are suuuuper passionate about mushrooms and wouldn't lie. Is there any truth to those mushroom "MUD" cooffee ads about lions mane, reishi, and turkey tail having any actual documented noticeable cognitive change when consuming those mushrooms?
This is a great mushroom channel and fun to watch, the channel fresh cap talks a lot about the studies in depth pertaining to chaga, reishi, and turkey tail. I think there is a hour long episode where he talks about turkey tail having the most conclusive evidence of real benefits then lions mane being the 2nd most tested having some hits and misses. Do any of these hyper inflated claims of cognitive uppers have any real ground. I think if they did we all would be using them as daily supplements and praying to them for more answers. Go straight to the studies of people that openly talk about the studies and don’t take Paul Stamets word.
To add- what’s more interesting is if the benefits they do have come from the actual fruiting body or the mycelium network that’s in the substrate(the bag of rice or grain). That is even more fascinating to be honest. Some growers who major in this say one side this or one side that. I think freshcap uses the fruiting body and Paul Stamets company uses just the substrate. I don’t think MUD lists the break down of their ingredients last the generic names.
missed you guys, Ive started my farm in Mexico and im trying to replicate your operation, so far my hardest challenge has been cell line maintenance since there aren't many good quality genetics providers so I get my cultures from mossy creek and try to keep them going but i usually have to go and buy new culture
Lion's mane has good health benefits, and it's good to add variation to your diet. Besides, the only difference between animal and fungal cells is the chitin in their cell membranes.
After sterilization of the substrate blocks, how do you put the spawn in the bag? Do you shake it or just throw some spawn at the top and seal it?? I shake it, but makes the inside of the bag dity with substract, and I notice it's bad for top fruiting..
@@SouthwestMushrooms i am looking into grow tents to grow mushrooms 🍄, what should I be looking for in the grow tent and the exhaust system and lights your own option for a Beginner in growing Mushrooms 🍄 again Thank you kindly for responding back to me in 🇨🇦 much respect back to you 🙏.
❤️ Amazing. This man just showed us the entire business and process. The absolute cleanliness and dedication to these mushrooms will have me looking him up and buying mushrooms from this company. These days it's hard to trust any companies that offer food. Food production is like a big secret behind closed doors. We are never shown where the product enters and exits. Everything is recalled these days. We only find out about the filthy conditions and violations long after many people have gotten sick and died. Imagine if every factory had to show us start to finish where our food comes from like this young man did? We would know exactly who to trust and who is safe to buy from.I really appreciated this video. They have a new long term customer here. ❤
I'm setting up shop in the philippines. No oak or soy hull here. I can get 80 kilos of mohagany sawdust for about $4 tho. Would rice hull work for supplement? Or coconut fiber?
Hi I live in Jamaica, and have always loved your videos. I grow mushrooms its been a challenge just brought some grow tents what temperature should I keep my Petrie dishes stored at
Hello, Im new to this, I want to ask if spruce sawdust/pellets are good for growing mushrooms, I'm asking this beacuse I could easily get it cheaper than oak pellets
Insane thought: We use almost identical wood pellets as cat litter and we have six cats, so we go thru a TON of pellets, which usually just ends up in the trash every week or so. COULD you (we won’t even get into SHOULD lol) recycle used wood pellet cat litter into substrate? You’d have to deal with the ammonia, etc, but it’s already been fertilized and you’re pasteurizing/sterilizing anyway, so….😂
Research shows that psilocybin mushrooms have promising results for mental health support, particularly in reducing symptoms of depression, anxiety and PTSD.
I wish you shipped these mushrooms in bulk! I’ve been growing them myself from time to time but I really wish I had a freezer full of them, and I’m a horrible mycologist!😉
Thanks for your comment! We understand the convenience and wish for a steady supply of mushrooms. That’s why we offer our premium Lion’s Mane mushrooms, harvested and dehydrated at their peak, so you can enjoy day-of-harvest freshness any time, right in the comfort of your home. You can order them in bulk through our website at www.southwestmushrooms.com. We hope this gives you the convenience and quality you’re looking for without having to worry about growing them yourself!
@@SouthwestMushrooms thank you for answering. I’ve never eaten them dehydrated before, but now I’m curious! Do you ever ship fresh lion’s mane? Like at a certain time of year, perhaps?
I used to use ulv diggers with a chrysanthemum based spray (rated food save) .. turn it on let it run a for about 10mins then let the room sit sealed with Air/exhaust off overnight then turn on the ac/exhaust for 15 mins and was good to go for a sanitized space
Would this be possible with master's mix as well? Or not recommended as soy hulls have too much nutrition increasing contam risk. I would assume there is no added risk, because its fully colonised anyway. Just checking. thank you
