We hear of great people in history all the time. The Caesars, the Elizabeths, the Napoleons, and the Genghis Khans. They may have been enlighten rulers or vile despots; great builders or the destroyers of civilization - but they all shared one thing. They were human, and as such they had hopes, dreams, aspirations, inner demons, and insecurities - like everyone else. These traits affected the course of humanity for better and for worse. Together, they have made us the global society we are today. Flash Point History is dedicated to making history accessible because when we look into the past we discover ourselves.
The Pope was not the spiritual leader of Constantinople or Justinian. Constantinople is under the Patriarch of Constantinople, not the Patriarch of The West.
@josesilva4171 this is an unsubstantiated claim. My words are hard-hitting facts. They challenge the very foundations of western "civilization". Someone has to tell you about these historic events in a diplomatic albeit uncompromising way. The world is changing at an exponential rate, my good man
What an interesting way of explaining, very detailed... as a portuguese speaker and knowing a bit of the history of Portugal I must say I am impressed with all the research and effort you guys put into it. This documentary is gold!!!
@cg8397 the site owner hijacks my comments, or at least makes them 'disappear'. Hence no fair or objective way to engage you or others in teachable and spirited debates here
I think the problem is your language. Completely inappropriate. Certain words you use are simply unacceptable. Also, if you don’t appreciate it don’t watch it. Simple!.

@@Khufu_Tuntun There's no need to act paternalistic towards me. I was just explaining to you why your comments were removed, but I guess you didn't understand (and still don't).
@@Khufu_Tuntun Secondly, as someone living in Asia, potentially in the same country as you, I am well-acquainted with non-western culture and can perfectly distinguish between past/history (500 years ago) and nowadays. Let people here appreciate and enjoy the history; any unpleasantness should be directed elsewhere.
I proceeded to watch this over the course of approximately 2 weeks. As I originally searched for a video on the whole history of the Eastern Roman Empire, I must say, this has been very enjoyable. Not just the history of Justinian, but the presentation and the speech have been phenomenal. Absolutely superb, for all those who worked on it.
why was Constantinople always on some shit, its like people today saying its them damn phones but it was always that damn Constantinople if we truly think about it
Flashpoint picking a good spot in history to start for Spanish history *the goths enter the chat* I love your series, wish you would have touched the period before Islam with the goths. They’re some of my favorite points in history.
I just got back from a wonderful trip to Lisbon and have been spending time learning about Portugal's history. This has been the best video I've found. Thank you!
Although i slept after one hour of listening ( because i played any video with over 5 hrs to fall asleep) yet i enjoyed it and will definitely watch it again, but I'll make sure I'll stay up. Thank you for putting the effort for making such a great video ❤
