I have right sided hemiparesis as a result of a prenatal stroke. Interestingly enough, I speak English, as well as four foreign languages, which, knowing the fact that it affected the left side of my brain, which controls language learning and acquisition, is very cool. =) I graduated from high school (I'm from the States) with a standard diploma, and I am now at Florida International University doing a Bachelors degree.
I can relate a little I have left sided cerebral palsy due to a stroke I had in the womb. I have it on the lower side of the spectrum, I can walk and run but I look like an extra from a zombie movie when I run. I’m in my last year of high school. it’s cool to hear about you’re story. Thanks for this great explanation of why sometimes there are behavioral and social emotional consequences to hemiplegia, having a son who was recently diagnosed this really helps explain a lot!

hemi means half plegia is somwhat like paralysis its is known as half body weakness you can gain ability with d help of exercise and have a good diet over come your weak ness thats all u need dont thik tberes no cure but that ll possibly improve forsure i m also suffering d same docter gave me i jections on d neck few times its epidural steroids i jection wgich will improve u faster just consult a good neurologist

I'm a 35 year old living with left-hemiplegia in the United States. Great videos that you guys have created here, I wonder if you ever collaborate with CHASA in the US. I think there is a lot of information that could be shared :-) Growing up, the physical aspects affected me most and I see that bullying is quite a common theme here. Its always good to see that bullying is becoming more and more socially unacceptable. The most difficult battle I face today is simply keeping up in the Walmart-Operations driven economy. Adults are generally ok with someone in the work-place having a disability, as long as it does not affect their productivity numbers or what their definition of "efficient and hardworking" is. Short-term memory loss becomes "not detail oriented/indecisive" Cognitive issues become "Not paying attention or careless" As I write this now I am generally rated as a low-performing employee and under constant scrutiny because of a general lack of awareness. The lady doing ballet in this video describing the mental aspects of living with this is exactly the same things I face every day at work.
That was a great video thanks for creating it, its good to see older kids with hemiplegia so i have an idea what it will be like for my little boy growing up. I agree with your dad hemi kids have been touched by an angel and are beautifully special.
