He's the kind of actor I would really, really love to compliment and show my gratitude in person, for his unbelievable, unmeasurable contribution to art, in the role art plays in our lives. I always find comfort watching his performances, specially as The Doctor, but not only. And yes, there are less famous, noticeable artists, spread around the world, who through their amazing work give us strength to face the challenges of this life. It is also true that the famous ones out stand, for reaching more people. And amongst them, Peter Capaldi has a very special place in my heart. He got me through very though times. Thank you, Peter. And of course, to all others who played a part in the creation of the characters he brilliantly gave life to.
He can bring a new life to this performance. It’s the same but also original. I’m not the only person that must have thought he started the speech as Peter capaldi and very quickly slipped into the doctor like muscle memory. Capaldi was was hero from being a huge fan of the thick of it and in the loop. So I hoped for a grumpy, mean, darker doctor. And we often got that but he was also able to portray that there was a light underneath all that misanthropic rage. Just like with tucker.
This speech and the entire Heaven Sent episode are enough to make Capaldi the best actor that's played the role. Nobody else could pull off the damaged war veteran or singlehandedly carry an episode.
I'd like to think canonically speaking he did give this speech to Kate and Bonnie but that it was one of the 15 times he wiped their memories. I wonder if Clara remembers them all. 😸
Where's the second part? (BECAUSE ITS NOT A GAME, KATE! This is a scale model of war! Every war, ever fought, right there in front of you. Because it's always the same! When you fire that first shot, no matter how right you feel, YOU DON'T KNOW, WHO'S GOING TO DIE! HOW MANY CHILDREN, WILL SCREAM AND BURN!? HOW MANY HEARTS WILL BE BROKEN!? HOW MANY LIVES SHATTERED!? -*cant remember the rest*-)
See anyone who complains doctor who got too sjw well every reference they made is a little gag at their expense a little tease at sjws and this speech is the proof. This is the doctor saying that anyone who wants to go to war without knowing the first thing about what they are doing, what they want, and what they perceive as the enemy is doomed to fail because they're too dumb too see the big picture and they lack empathy. It's basically an entire speech just to say fuck you not only to isis and Muslim extremists but also to what was then the rising tide of the regressive left
Although he hasn't had the bets run cuz series 8 was alright but only 5 of the 12 episodes in series 9 were any good but u can't deny he is a great actor and a really good Doctor
THAT was really cool, I love how he just switched to The Doctor, it was like Capaldi wasn't there any more, it was just The Doctor, doing what he does best :)
Sconstio there’s loads from the episode that wasn’t here, tbh the one in the episode is better and the one in the episode is also longer nad makes more points about war all around.
This was amazing to see in the audience, even without seeing the episode first. Such a cool event (though the host was an annoying lil shit and kept interrupting Capaldi) but he is so friendly on stage and just agh he is fantastic
Well, it has to. It's like a basic fundamental law of how the universe works. When someone as great and absolutely amazing as Peter Capaldi speaks, the atoms and molecules around him start vibrating so fast from joy it creates a subtle score to his words. It's just how it works and it's real science- trust me.
Im so speechless, sentimental right now, that peformance was stunning, totally something new and different from the original one on the tv show. Plus I found it interesting that this time it seemed he only showed little of his scottish accent while he got emotional at some point asking questions. Well Done Peter, and thanks for sharing
