Appreciate you asking! We have one disfigured fruit this year on the Asian. (We left it on, but don’t know if it’ll actually ripen.)Hopefully we’ll have a good crop next year. (Need to do a better job of making limbs run horizontally.) We also grafted a Bradford with edible pears this year. It’s taken off and I bet week have some fruit next year.

Great video! I have 3/4” poly tubing on a timer for my garden and 1/4” soaker tubing on my strawberries. Using drippers like you did, plus the diameter of pipe, pressure is not an issue. Soaker hose on the other hand really needs to be on a closed loop system because the pressure never gets to the end the same way as the top otherwise. Two things you might change in the future: 1) those slip unions are not meant to be permanent ;2) above ground plumbing like that, you should consider schedule 80 grey pipe instead of 40. It is designed to withstand uv exposure.
@DeanFamilyAcres
@DeanFamilyAcres 8 дней назад
Great tips. - Union was intentional as it is seasonal and will be removed for winter. - I may paint the PVC to prevent any damage, in general it'll last a very long time. - Hoping to modify the soaker hose portion one day, for now we're just glad to have the blueberries fully irrigated.

I am in Zone 9. I have a black, self fertile, very tight bunched, dry scar and very early ripening muscadine that is a heavy producer and I do not know what variety it could be. A neighbor gave me this vine and he is not sure what variety it is because it came with the home he bought. I am thinking it may be a cowart. Would anyone like to guess which variety it could be? This muscadine also have a strong sweet muscadine taste.

I plan to move in Fall 2026. How do I find affordable acreage?
@DeanFamilyAcres
@DeanFamilyAcres Месяц назад
Location impacts affordability greatly. Especially if you’re looking for acreage. Property in most of the state has increased greatly with the influx of new residents from traditionally higher cost of living areas over the last 3-4 years. There are a few opportunities, but they’re usually word of mouth, a FSBO sign or similar. If a realtor gets ahold of it it’s usually going to end up at a premium.

I love Cowart, Ison, Dixie Red, Supreme. I'm growing them in a large greenhouse in Seattle. I love the thick skin. You're spitting out the healthiest part of the grape. Ruby Crisp was awful. Bland and tastes nothing like a traditional muscadine. I'm replacing it with Paulk this year.
@DeanFamilyAcres
@DeanFamilyAcres 2 месяца назад
That’s cool that you’re able to grow them in a greenhouse. Skin is good for you, but not my personal favorite. Tastes and flavors can be different depending on climate, soil, water schedule and ripeness. Imho Ruby Crisp tastes much better when you let it get fully ripe. Hoping we get a few Paulk off our personal vine this year. (It’s in a semi shady area, so not as much fruit/flowering) We’ve been to Seattle once about 13 years ago, neat city back then. Good friend lives on Orcas.
