I got my first twin last year at age 63. A Wyve Twin Pin. I got it for small weaker days but turns out it loves steep hollow waves both big and small. Put the Machado Keel fins on it for more drive as the board was already plenty loose. Ended up being my go-to board all winter. Too bad one of these wasn't in this video. Great no foam hollow core 3d printed boards.
As a scientist (hydrodynamicist), this is the worst way to test anything for any performance boost. Likely the differences between the boards are so subtle that this entire video is a marketing stunt, albeit a good one. Surfboard design is purely empirical. While this is gotten us a long way ahead in the last 70 years, there is still some 'hand waving' involved that I cannot quite digest.
We are all spoiled by watching pros absolutely rip on waves. This guy is one of us, a normal guy that surfs probably better than most. All of you saying he doesn't, I would like to see how you look on this wave. He is doing more than I would be doing on those waves. And at the same time he is down to earth enough to make me hungry to be out there and paint my colors on that beautiful wave.

I grew up on a twin Fish ( circa 1975-) I ripped any wave at any time from Seaside Reef in Solana Beach to The Lighthouse in Ventura. That fish hung on any wall, and would Fly down the line and generate generating massive speed!
