Hello and Welcome! I'm a past DCP member who's still obsessed with all things Disney. Here you'll find videos dedicated to the company with a focus on looking back to the past, reviews, rants and sketches and a sprinkle of spookiness all year round. We're just getting started so come join in!
Now disney is Littered with movie wannabes from LA. They don't care about Parks or Broadway - the best entertainment. And instead it's all Hollywood "elites" who all try to dominate their little creepy clique
I had a Shih-Tzu one of those cute fluffy dogs. His name was Buster. But during hurricane Irma a few years ago. We gave him to a new family. But I have 3 bunnies now. And I’ll always remember my doggie.
I know I didn't mention it during this video but in Part 1 I did mention that I wouldn't be covering everything yet because they went to Disneyland not Disney World. Those episodes will be talked about in a future episode focusing on Disneyland :D
The best guess would be related to cutting costs back but yes I wish both of those would come back! At least Epcot still has the concert series going on throughout most of the year with the Garden Rocks and Eat to the Beat shows so that's a good sub in the meantime.
Central Florida does experience cool and cold weather during the winter months. And Disney Parks do issue park maps to guests before their arrival at the resort.
If I remember right, the family from Black-ish lives in LA. So, they're gonna fly across the country to go to Disneyworld, when Anaheim is right there? I get that hardcore Disney fans would do that, but it seems weird for casual fans to do lol.
The Middle is just a Malcolm in the Middle knockoff but Malcolm is a girl and the youngest kid is ugly. The guy who played the Janitor in Scrubs cannot live up to Bryan Cranston, unfortunately.
Back in the day, if you inquired about a Disney World trip, they would send a "planning package". While I don't recall if it had park maps, it does seem likely since it did include a 15ish minute videotape of the parks and Rosanne was right in that era.
Aww, talk about nostalgia. These kind of episodes were my only way to 'visit' the parks as a kid. My parents couldn't afford it, and as an adult, I still can't. Thank goodness for RU-vid, I get to see all the rides and pretend I'm there.
i love that we are supposed to believe that a band full of a bunch of 30 something dads doing cover songs from the 60s would headline at walt disney world and be that popular 😂😂 the 90s were wild
Definitely remember the Full House one like it was yesterday. As a kid I thought they just did those episodes because Disney parks were fun and iconic. Never occurred to me that ABC and Disney were corporate partners.
It was always the ABC network’s sitcoms. ABC is owned by Disney. Cheap cross promotional tourism advertising. I also think NBC had a deal with Vegas, because a bunch of their shows went to Vegas in the 2000s.
I did realize that I said that after the fact thinking of the name change of the Fuller family when they did Fuller House but hoping no one would catch it hahaha
I always thought Step by Step stayed at Old Key West. I always wanted to have a Cory and Topanga moment in front of the Fountain of Nations (rip). And the Full House episodes are just so iconic. Every time I step into the Grand Floridian from the monorail, I expect to see John Stamos playing the piano in the lobby. One of my favorite fun facts is that John Stamos and The Beach Boys were among the first guests to stay at the Grand Floridian and the video for Kokomo was filmed on the beach.
The Tanner family (I was confused when I heard you say The Fuller family. I was like no that’s the spinoff years later and I don’t think they went.) is still one of my favorite TV families.
Rosanne was one of the best shows ever made... it was real life...and not full of fake fluffy stuff... it showed the real struggles most middle and lower midclass American working families have. It also showed, that no matter how hard life got, family sticks together, but normally.... not fluffy.
Love your videos! I can answer your question about "Could you get the park maps before you went back in the 90s when the Roseanne episode aired?" See I grew up in Orange County and went to Disneyland all the time. (In fact I work there now and have for many years!) But when I moved away to Colorado, I took a trip back to go to Disneyland because I missed it so much. And there are 2 ways they could have done it. The way I did it was I went to the Disney Store to buy my tickets in advance. That way after the tickets were bought all I had to do was worry about travel. I was staying with an old high school friend in Anaheim so lodging was free. When I bought my tickets (and some Disney dollars for spending money, member them?) They just gave me the park map. (Disneyland at the time only had one park.) So assuming the Langord Mall was typical of most shopping malls in mid America at the time, there would have been a Disney Store there to facilliate this. The other way is if they used a travel agent. This is less widespread now than it was then because most of us make our travel arrangements on our phones or computers. But back then it would have been easier for Roseanne to use a travel agent. There were multiple rooms at whatever hotel they were at and a bunch of plane tickets. So as soon as they got their tax refund (which is where the money came from in the story) she could have gone to the travel agent and booked everything through them all at once. Those agencies would include park marks when they gave you your tickets. Hope this was helpful!
Also since this was paid by tax return, they probably filed as soon as they could and got the refund (or got a return advance from H&R Block). Lower income people like me do that ASAP. I usually get my return in early to mid February so your guess about what time of year this was is probably spot on! I could also observe that Illinois natives don't know how to dress in Florida but you're right. Other people in the shots are dressed similar. Though it's supposed to be early February (I'm guessing), they likely shot at least a couple months earlier and did a lot of shooting with extras before park opening. That happens at Disneyland a lot.
@@bleedinggreen5748 They got the money for the trip when Dan quit his job with the city. He had vacation time compensation. Instead of saving the money, they decided to blow it on the trip to Disney. Again, showing how most people are... they get a windfall of money, that would pay off some bills...but instead, they take a vacation.... part of the reality of life the show went for.
Ok, the Neon Armadillo, i think, became the BET sound stage. It was beside the Adventure club. Was across from the comedy store and 8 trax. Thanks for sharing this.
