Thank you so much for this video. It is exactly what I want to do. I'm a new CNCer. Hobbyist, and I have some ideas that the CNC 3D texturing are going to be the differentiator. This was so informative, thank you so much. I hope you keep up with content like this!
Thank you! I’m currently relocating my shop and putting this CNC on a level surface! Will be pushing new content soon.. good luck in your cnc adventure!
Nice 2ork.n6oy don't lose any stwps from vertical mounting your CNC? I was worried how thin your boards were after all prep work. I estimated 1/2" to 5/8" removal from roughing pass. Not surprised you broke through in places. L9vevthe finish colour
Thanks John! I noticed a slight variance on the z axis but it was not more than 0.05 mm - this project is actually where I discovered it - it broke through in some spots but not all so something was off
Peachtree Woodworking Supply 2 Pack of 4 Way Pressure Clamps For Clamping Panels - Using Pressure From All Four Directions. Ideal For Woodworkers and Cabinet and Furniture Makers a.co/d/iNbMKic Here ya go! These are awesome because you can cut your preferred length (the wood pieces are cut / sold separately
I saw a RU-vid video making those few days ago. I don't do much big panel clamping, but if i did, I would definitely make these !! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-p_-479BcbmI.htmlsi=GNISDvku--nUuC9A
Don't know how you don't have more subs just for the fact that you have a CNC mounted vertically to the wall, definitely worth the sub! Sign came out awesome also!!!!
The step down measurement setup in CarveCo is the measurement of depth that the bit will drop down per pass. For example if I want my bit to take 0.25 inches of material off per pass I would set the step down to 0.25 - this ensures that the bit does not take on more than it can handle
I didn't come to see you or your work. I come to see the machine but you sped it up like every body else does on RU-vid. At least give us five minutes to see it cutting then you can speed up the rest of the video. What ya think? Really nice job you did there so seeing a closeup view if it doing the finishing cut in real time would be nice.
Anything specific you would like to see in realtime? The finishing pass was 8+ hours long so I wouldn't upload 8 hours on to RU-vid. I have plenty of realtime video available I would just need to cut it up into shorter increments.
@@TsTimbers For this particular video, you sped up the video as soon as you stopped talking and zipped right through the cut. You could've let us see 1 or two minutes of the rough cut and one of two minutes of the finish cut. That would've been good. Just a thought or suggestion cause you did ask for suggestions. It is actually hard to find real video of it cutting. Especially for the shapeoko pro 5 or even the onefinity. People tend to speed it up forgetting that maybe we came to see the machine first and then to see the channel. No offense.
this is awesome. i’m looking to get one of these machines. so can you pause the cutting and resume later. if the power goes out. or you need to have it be quiet at nighttime?
Thanks! You can pause the machine for extended periods of time but if you turn it off it will completely reset your project. I frequently pause the machine and than come back to it 8 hours later or so and haven’t had any issues with that.
how do you load something to thumb drive and then to machine? I just got my foreman set up( first cnc) and did elite test cut but cannot figure out how to add something else. Any help, please.
Congratulations, that’s a nice one! I believe the foreman has a Wi-Fi connection you will need to connect it to your home network and than read the address displayed on the top right of the foreman screen. Enter the address into a web browser and you will see the admin screen on your computer. From their you can upload files directly from the computer to the foreman. If you want to use a thumb drive you must use your computer software (carveco, vCarve etc.) to produce the gcode from your created tool paths. After that transfer the Gcode from your computer to the thumb drive. Than take your thumb drive out and plug it into the usb on the foreman - you than can load the new gcode onto the foreman from the admin screen. I separate my toolpaths into separate files so I can run them independently it might be helpful to number them in the order you will carve them. Hope this helps!
Great video. I am just getting ready to pull the trigger on a Oninfinity CNC. I do have a question: When you purchase a file like this, can you edit it or is it locked?
@@TsTimbers That is the one I am looking at. And, are the files locked or can they be edited? I see some that one might want to customize like adding a name to. Is this possible? Thanks!
Mechanically it works just fine! I have the QCW frame from 1F as well which helps a lot. Sometimes it can be difficult to clamp down heavier workpieces with gravity working against you.
@@deonbaptiste1991 Its hard to say with artistic pieces like that but I value it at $800.00 having spent a considerable amount of time effort and resources on it.
When I do the final pour I sit the project on a box, and place it on aluminum foil. The foil lets me seal the seams and roll the edges to keep it off the table. I've used wax paper as well. Great project - looks awesome!
Tim great job! I have been in the sign business for over 25 years and built about every type of sign you can imagine. Woodworking or should I say making is my hobby and I have been wanting to experiment with epoxy for other applications but I never thought about using epoxy in my sign business. Just learned something new and can’t wait to try it. Great Job !
Thanks!! 🙏 - I started using it a few months ago - one thing I’ve learned is that epoxy is extremely unforgiving! Any mistake will not easily be undone or unseen haha 😂
How did you pause during the finishing pass? I didn't realize that the Buildbotics sofware would let you pause and pick back up where you left off. Beautiful piece BTW.
I paused it and left the box running so that it wouldn’t reset to the beginning. I think their is a way to edit the G Code to break it up into time blocks but I haven’t learned how to do that yet!
