You did a great job capturing the beauty Louisiana has to offer! New Orleans is a great city but each section of Louisiana has its own little things and completely different people in each part of Louisiana. Even though I don’t believe you officially visited cajun country, since you visited our state capital your Cajun name will be Douglas Rose Boudreaux 🫡
That guy at the top of the Capital, his shirt is a really nice gym in my hometown of Lafayette, Louisiana. Red Lerielle’s Health & Racquet Club is the name but everyone just calls it Red’s. Shaq goes pretty frequently and when WWE comes into two a lot of the wrestlers go there to workout. I’ve seen the big show, the undertaker, John cena and Roman reigns working out there. Probably more but those just come to mind first. I have no idea who that guy in the shirt is tho 😂 seems to have had one too many hand grenades on bourbon by the way he was speaking

@@Nick-1828 And as for "Joey" at the top of the capitol ... are there variants on the Cajun / Creole accent? And if so, are any of them along the lines of what I described? The most stereotypical Cajun accent I heard the whole trip was the old guy at the front desk in the capitol.
@@DugrozReports oh yeah, each little part of Louisiana has its own accents. For example, my mom is from Cut Off, Louisiana and that’s about as Cajun as you can find (Farmer Fran from the water boy 😂). The accents down there are completely different than you will find in north Louisiana. As for Joey, I’d have to hear him in person to know if it’s a Cajun/creole accent vs a foreign accent. Louisiana has a big Hispanic community so there’s many different accents you could hear taking a trip to Louisiana 😂
I agree not to tip for them handing you 2 canned sodas. However, you should tip for the bussing service in buffets even though you got your own food. That really is a hard job. As for those service charges, i have worked for a few places that had them including catering. The owners dont mind you thinking that the servers receive that but I assure you they do not. It is supposedly more what a “plate charge” used to be. Covering the plates and glasses and dishwashing etc. the margin on food is historically very very small so owners try sneaky ways to cover there cost.
Thanks Liene! I agree, and I will tip at a buffet (maybe a little less, but still something). I really wish there was an easy way to consistently know what goes to the establishment vs. what goes to the server.
These gift cards are pretty much useless, no one working knows how to redeem them. I see a big class action coming here as people are going to have dozens of these. I have three of them and have got told no at two separate Hiltons so far
That stinks. I did have a random Hilton employee at a Hampton Inn (Alton, IL) who knew how to ue one!!! That experience was my first and may have given me false hope on the Hilton gift card front ... :(
@@LK_EBM so it would work for the people it’s intended for, not people Ike me who wants to get one visit per year and a free meal! 😂 Honestly, I can’t blame them, it was kind of too good to be true. If there was ever a situation where I knew I would be going to a Caesars property more than once a year, I might spend $100 on dining on the first one just to get the second one.

Indoor and outdoor pools and a gym. Plenty of restaurants in shopping nearby but in quiet neighborhoods. One with an ocean view looking South. The other one on the neighboring Island looking North.
@@DugrozReports sure. The executive membership pays you back so the 2x on Costco from citi is on top of the 1x you get from membership. The gas doesn’t count but citi gives 4x and gas at Costco is consistently cheaper than most.
I had asthma pretty badly too when I was younger but for some reason mine just went away when I was like 17. I’ve experienced shortness of breath when sprinting but I haven’t had an asthma attack since then. But, I know how it is to have to carry an inhaler.
