2:14 “The test of any company is their bathrooms.” Love it! 8:27 Employee satisfaction will guide you to customer satisfaction, and customer satisfaction will guide you to success. 10:55 “What does it matter what the plant looks like, if they have zero defects?” ~Shingo 14:50 Japanese are open to foreign connections. You can call the president and get the assistant, and the assistant is current and up to date with all of the information in the company. The only challenge is the language barrier. 17:04 Great processes are key to OE and quality. The Japanese have a high quality life because they are in pursuit of quality in everything they do.
keeping it in house is the easiest way for you to be able to make improvements, eliminate waste, and make the process the most efficient it can be. It also allows full ownership to easily pivot due to unforseen circumstances, or new improvement ideas quickly and easily. There are maybe some circumstances in which using a 3PL might make more sense - such as square footage constraints etc. If that is the case though, you should always find someone willing to work with you to make constant improvements to their processes based on your requests, or it will be a nightmare.
@@FastCapLLC Great insights, thanks Paul. I also imagine FBA/Amazon wouldn’t be any better, especially if needing to resolve issues with defects? Ideally, no defects would ever make it out of the plant or factory floor - but in the rare event that they do, it’d be best to have a system to manage or minimize them at the warehouse (e.g. inspection protocols, etc.), to ensure they never reach customers. It’d be hard to catch them if they make it all the way to a 3PL facility, I would imagine.
Fantastic, a leader of leaders! And I totally understand the part about taking care of customer returns and defects on a deep, visceral level, in my mountain bike shoe startup. Anyone who hasn’t tried running a business before will never know what it feels like-but it’s extremely important to do those things. Customers are the core of any business.
Yeah Nah too much play and plastic clip look like they will break easily, how do I use the Domino without it ?, same way I am using it currently, don't need this complicated gadget.
Have several green left/right tapes. The thumb lever clip is great and the two way scales are also. As a guy the has been reading scales for 5 decades I could do without labeling all the eights. It’s just too busy!
@marybradley210 No it currently only works with the DeWalt 12" 779, 780, 781, & 790. We are working on creating more versions for other saws. We will keep you posted when they launch.
Seriously, I'm right handed. Pencil in right hand. Tape body in left. Numbers upside down. In my view all tape measures are lefties and the left handed ones are meant for righties

One very useful home project using the bits that make holes & matching plugs is for hanging lights & garland to decorate your house for Christmas. I've installed dozens over archways/door frames before I was going to paint the wood work. Also did this, with a different set of bits for adding Neodymium Magnets to the brickwork around the fireplace, for more decorations, & for hanging stockings. To hide the holes in the brickwork I reused the core I drilled out & used epoxy mixed with additional brick dust, & used copper wire to center the plugs ... the brink was a nightmare to get right, I think it would have been easier to add the magnets to free standing bricks (not installed) & remove the bricks from the fireplace & replace them with those with the magnets you installed... Also this way you could install the magnets from the backs of the bricks.
They do sell sets for drill bits to cut holes & make matching plugs... very useful when you're working on a project that is using/showing natural grain wood, so you can match the plug with the hole ... trick I've used was take the plug from the same piece of wood, just take it from the flipside... that is if it isn't seen.
@JustinsGarage Our morning meeting is a huge part of building the Lean culture and giving everyone a chance no matter their skill level or natural propensity. Lean isn't just about efficient manufacturing it's changing your teams point of view and giving them the power to change/improve things.

@ScrubShark6663 For the Super Reel it works best with a 2" Inner Diameter, which is 2.25" Outer diameter. It can also be used with a 2.5" OD hose. It can fit any length hose, you will provide your own 2x4 and there are directions that come with it specifying what length to cut the 2x4 to depending on the length of your vacuum hose. Here is a link to our website: www.fastcap.com/product/super-reel Under the "Tech Specs" tab we have a PDF with the Super Reel instructions and that will help determine your 2x4 size needed for the length of your vacuum hose.
A decent DIY'er could probably do it in a couple hours if you have a way to cut a nice circle. I guess nothing says the circle has to be perfect as long as you get you get your 2x4's level and parellel. May be easier to do octogon or hexagon sides with a jigsaw or skillsaw if you don't have a router with a circle jig or a CNC machine. Look up turntable bearing, or Lazy Susan bearings, a winch handle, and a 2.5inch hose coupler (or whatever size hose you have). ~$30 in parts on Amazon. 4x4x 3/4 sheet of plywood, a 2x4x8, and a zip tie or velcro laying around hopefully. Whole project will run you about ~$65-$75. Up to you to put the sweat in and make it look as nice though. Considering the shipping costs the seller has to pay, I'd say $133 isn't a terrible price to charge and get a fair profit margin. Up to you how much you value your time, and the learning experience of DIY I suppose.
Raise the heat gun up a little. She has to lay the can on its side to heat it where needed. Just pick the heat gun up to where it needs to be. There's 2 seconds. Have the cans upright on the table, the cone goes on the next can in line, not on a cheesy holder. . .why put it down just to pick it up to put it where you need it, why not just put it where needed. Yes, the table would need a redesign. It would need to be loaded, have a low friction incline to allow the cans to slide into position for loading autonomously. There's another couple seconds. You're down to 10 seconds.
@jimgriggs2184 Thanks for the feedback. We have updated this process quite drastically since this filming and we have our production team working on updating this video! We can't wait to share the updated process.
I always wrap my cords up starting from the center and doubled up. Besides rolling up twice as fast, it also allows the hose to straighten itself out because each of the two strands can spin freely and independently.
This looks great--but you know what's really weird? RU-vid only has a thumbs-down option! I want to LIKE this video but it's not even an option right now in my browser. Super lame.
@johnelder6557 We do have a few distributors in the UK, here is the link: www.fastcap.com/content/international-distributors I would reach out to them and see if they have the Crown Stop Fence in stock. If they don't ask to see if they can possibly order it next time they put in an order. Shipping prices will vary depending on the distributor or if you order through our website.
What is the name of the brand of bread that they are packaging in the video, which says spelled in green? That's not Dave Killer! Maybe they package small brands, I would like to know, thank you.
