All are good scanners frankly. Depends on what you want a scanner for and which indications. What do you do most commonly in your practice? Also, what is your budget? Runyes 3DS and Shining 3D can be considered a similar level in terms of scanning output and resolution of the scan. Shining 3D is more developed in terms of software and apps. DEXIS 3800 has powerful software, too, and their studio app has excellent AI.
This has been discussed for over 5 years since Align started locking Invisalign to iTero. The truth is, it's anyone's guess. Only they know. But I would guess that it is unlikely, given the volume of Invisalign work that goes through TRIOS scanners.
Helios 500 is similar to AS 100 which used to be sold as the Helios 600. Both are decent enough scanners. Helios 100 is the most economical option on the market. AS 260 is slightly different in terms of its proposition and has more developed software etc. Currently reviewing the Helios 500 and will release full review soon
Different beasts. AS 100 is not really pushed as much anymore and you would want to go for the AS 260 at least. Both scan well frankly. Shining has more developed software but Alliedstar is being improved very quickly. Try both, see what you like more. Both are great.
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry thanks , but in there is difference between allied star a260 and shining 3d price as allied is more expensive and as100 is almost as same as shining price .. So you advice me to buy shining ??
Is there any difference between helios 500 and helios 600? Both have a precission of 20 microns...help plsz in my country is quite easy to get this scanner
Helios 600 is an alliedstar rebrand. Helios 500 is the companies own intraoral scanner. Helios 600 (AS 100) is now owned by straumann and will slowly stop being made I think for Helios as the company pushes the AS brand. Otherwise, both seem capable of a low-cost scanner.
There is always some deviation when you do what is essentially free-hand but with navigation. I think this is better than most can do completely free hand :)
We have been using it pretty heavily in our clinic and lab, and what I will say is that Ultra is not a super fast printer like what Sprintray and the new Formlabs are pushing. Models etc take 1.5-2x longer than some of those printers. Nor is it the easiest to use, like Formlabs. But it has unmatched print quality. This is why labs love it. You see this when printing dies and how they fit in the model, all on x restorations without distortion of holes, etc. Even models, you often can't see any printing lines, etc. Also, the Ultra has a huge build platform, so you get around the speed a little bit by being able to print many models at once. I think it is hard to beat Asiga for print quality and results. I believe each one of those printers is strong in this current market, and each has its place. Sprintray does extremely well in chairside thanks to its overall workflow, wash and cure (nanocure is epic). Formlabs is also coming back with the 4B which is much, much faster than previous SLA. Hope that helps :)
Thanks for this great presentation.. But I'd ask difference between panda scannner and runyes ?? Which one you will prefer betwenn both ?? If I will buy my first scanner , which one you advice me to use ?
Both are decent low-cost intraoral scanners from China. I would say Runyes currently has the better software overall. Whereas Panda Smart has the size advantage.
Thanks for your kind reply .. But I am confused .. I will try them . But there is another scanner called ( QSCAN 7000 xpect vision) .. Do you know about it ?? Another question, is Medit i600 over all these scanners ??
@@DrKerolusmagid medit is by far the most developed in terms of software and overall workflows. If you just want a scanner for basic indications they will literally all work (single crown etc). QSCAN 7000 is a white labeled Runyes scanner. What you buy depends on how much you want to spend, what you want from scanner software and if you want to do more complicated scans like edentulous, all on x etc. Check out all our reviews here for more info: instituteofdigitaldentistry.com/category/intraoral-scanner-reviews/
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry QSCAN 7000 really is Rebranding for Runyes ?? There is difference in price here in egypt .. so what Runyes will do QSCAN will do ?? My work is crowns & bridges , simple implant not complicated , scanning cases not complicated ..
Thanks for this great presentation.. But I'd ask difference between panda scannner and runyes ?? Which one you will prefer betwenn both ?? If I will buy my first scanner , which one you advice me to use ?
Check our reviews! We have covered these scanners already: instituteofdigitaldentistry.com/intraoral-scanner-reviews/helios-600-intraoral-scanner-review/ instituteofdigitaldentistry.com/cad-cam/aoralscan-3-scanner-review-the-latest-ios-by-shining-3d/ Note - the Helios 600 was a rebadged Alliedstar scanner. The company no longer works with Helios to make these, and Helios now makes the Helios 500.
Thanks for the FormLabs 4B printer overview. Have you had a chance to use it to verify all of the statements made by Formlabs? Are you impressed with the output, speed, quality?
Yes, we have been using it quite heavily for the past 3 months or so. I have to say I really like this printer, and my lab team does too. It's fast, prints nicely, and is quite easy to use. The build quality is solid and impressive for its relatively low cost. Quality is high, but I think the top price still goes to Asiga Ultra at the moment. In saying that this is once again very good for the price tag. The only downside I see at the moment is limited resins, but the company says they are addressing this soon.
Both are good in their own right. Different software advantages. Medit i600 is a great low-cost option, and so is Aoralscan 3. I would suggest try both and see what you prefer.
Ok my friend wants this but he already had a laptop so what are the recommended specs for the laptop, is the software free or you have to buy it if you purchase just the scanner?
Check this - www.straumann.com/content/dam/media-center/digital/en/documents/brochure/product-information/490.710-en_low.pdf I would just get their new scanner instead of Vivo to be frank.
I love your videos, always keeps me updated on the latest scanners. Thank you! Keep up the great work. Would also love to see you do reviews on more things like curing lights, X-ray sensors, ect.
Thank you for your kind words! Appreciate it :) My passion is digital dentistry so unfortunately I don't think I will go over curing lights etc any time soon - I am plenty busy with all the new scanners and printers coming out!
Beating in which sense? There is no perfect scanner, it is all about workflow and software and what you want to achieve with it. Primescan is the best for CEREC chairside workflow. This could be interesting when they integrate exocad one day.
So iTero lumina is the 1st scanner who change the traditional scanning technology (Confocal Microscopy) to Multi Direct Capture..I think that is a game changer. 🎉🎉
Not the first no. There were others before it, namely the WOW scanner (which seems to be discontinued for now). I don't believe in 'game changers' It is a nice product for iTero, but it is not suddenly going to dethrone the other top scanners that have worked very well for years.
@@metsatsu3017 I believe it uses a form of stereophotogrammetry Not the first scanner, that was the WOW scanner from some time ago. This does seem like pulling it off much better as the wow left a lot to be desired in scan speed etc
Thank you for all your wonderful reviews. I think I know why you have been delaying the publication of your Smart by PANDA review. Compare the previous review of June 28, 2024 with the review of July 12, 2024, The roughness of the Smart by PANDA scan data in the second review appears to be even worse. Is this symbolic of the instability caused by Smart by PANDA's less-than-technical perfection? Or is this standard for a low-priced $1,000 equivalent device? The coarse resolution of the convexity of the sinusoidal border and the mysterious unevenness of the smooth surfaces seem to be due to an incorrect formula in the scanning software. I would have purchased PANDA if it was on the same level as Runyes 3DS 3.0, but I hesitate to buy PANDA because its current performance is not up to the practical level. Also, in the Smart by PANDA comparison photo, I was wondering, the gap between adjacent surfaces seems to be read deeper than other scanners, is that a miss-data? I have several requests for you. Please state the version of the software used for the scan. If possible, please make the original files of the scanned data available for download. I am very interested in the Fussen S7000, so if you own one, please let me know, even if it is just a brief review.
Oh wow. I didn’t even know that. They do look exactly the same and even the software looks the same. Could you tell me how it could be inferior to others because it seems it can do everything without a limitation besides itero being exclusive for invisalign. My main reason for buying a scanner is full arch restoration (10 crown preps on each arch), to take bite registration, and also to do some implant restorations and scan for diagnostic models.
@@JoonKimDMD for scanning alone it is fine. software is nothing like medit, shining etc. its just a low cost scanning tool. I would suggest try before you buy and see if you like it.
@@InstituteofDigitalDentistry What software feature can we expect by choosing medit, or shining over S200? If all I want is to scan accurately, fast, and save it as STL, would S200 be as good as the others?
@@JoonKimDMD To do simple tasks like this all work well. Medit software is more polished that is all with more features But Shining has been working hard to catch up.
You need to test against soft tissue. Models don't provide real world experience. Scanning was only 55fps. We get up to 62fps on i700 on current laptop intraorally.
We have another video on a live patient coming up. This is just the unboxing. Regarding FPS, this was a beta version during testing. So it have improved and been optimized.
Thank you. I only used the original and the 3.0. I think the difference between 2.0 and 3.0 was mainly nomenclature but when in doubt I would always just get the latest one.
What is your thought?I have an omnicam for single uints..I just want a faster scanner for full arches and implant cases..Would you go for trios core or aoralscan shining just to scan and sent to labs?Regards
Both are good scanners, and it's a close call. I think as an overall product TRIOS Core wins as it has a much more developed software suite, software implant workflows and is better at edentulous scanning (so your all on x cases). In saying that, Aoralscan is also close to 2k cheaper. As always try both at your next conference/expo in your region and that is the best way to pick. See what you like. Hope that helps :)
I would highly recommend *against* doing this. Many scammers out there and support is critical with any IOS device. I suggest you contact your local (reputable) distributor or representative for the company and buy from them
I read the article comparing the four Medit models. Thanks for the great review. I think my concerns are a little clearer now. I am amazed at the excellent clarity of the i500 margins in these results. The i900 seems to have no advantages other than speed and size. On a different note, I can't wait to see a detailed review of the PANDA Smart. I've heard that the scanning software has been greatly improved recently. I know you are a busy man, but I await with anticipation.
Panda SMART review coming very soon!! Yes the main advantage of i900 is speed and size. It is the most lightweight scanner on the market now. Even less weight than Panda. Also the Medit software is a huge advantage over most scanners.
Helios 500 please.. its the most economical in India.. please review.. i already got it but i dont have any point of comparison as i never used any other scanner..
I heard of reports in the Medit Facebook group that the USB-C cable is supposedly *not* interchangeable with other conventional USB-C cables -- which might be the reason why Medit has included two of them... Can you confirm that?
Permanent crown resin strength depends on the resin manufacturer. It ranges from about 80 MPA on the low end (temp crowns) and ~200 MPA on the higher end.
@@ValhallaGuild my bad 😅answering this from an airplane between conferences so lost the context... Flexural Strength 136 MPA Shear Bond Strength 34.7 MPA Flexural Modulus 7.6 GPa
