The psychological impact alone of hearing your three mile time one second off your personal best, and knowing you're only at the midpoint of your race, that alone had to have less than positive effects on his thinking and feelings about the race. THAT is tough, and only distance runners can know what that feeling is like. Am I going to fade and "die"? (have to jog to finish), Am I going to at least make this look like a race? He never says it, but I believe his going through Marine Officer's training had a lot to do with his 'never quit' psyche. Marines never quit and they train that way and drill that 'never quit' attitude into each Marine. I'd like to have heard him speak to that.
There is an error in the translator. I also really like this song. I am very interested in jazz guitar, so I am learning it hard these days. I want to play this song on jazz guitar. If you have the sheet music, can I receive it by email or file? I will always look forward to great songs and great jazz guitar performances. I am a fan in Korea.
But I have to say that when I performed this video, I was mainly thinking about the voice and so did not follow the guitar chords very well in the chord chart 🥴
Your voice and guitar playing go so well together. Your calm voice and simple guitar playing are so harmonious and you expressed this song so well. I'm working hard on singing in this style right now haha. Thank you so much for the sheet music you sent me. I'm currently playing the guitar in 3 positions. I'm using CMaj because I'm still a beginner haha.
Yeah there are some timing problems with my vocal in the first chorus. At first I thought it was glitches in the backing track but now I think it might be me. I seem to sync before the second chorus kicks in though. So that part is good. I confess this in the true spirit of Foolish Frankie. 😅
Nice version an arrangements for that gem of music...the Shadow of your smile.. Also beautiful masterpiece of guitar ... Just one ,maybe stupid, question ; the F key holes are just painted or they are actually there? Sorry about my naive comment. Thanks
My wife says the only foolish question is the one you didn't ask :) It's a Yamaha SA2200, and those are real f holes cut through the top. Here's something you might like, I don't know, about Jim Mullen: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-TOutRlybKBs.htmlsi=AzGvyZgqeQ_Llo_Y&t=396
Semper Fidelis. Always faithful to God, Country, and the Marine Corps. Run the race so as to win the prize. Putting behind all things, to I keep my eyes on Jesus Christ, in whom my faith is founded. Have you been born again? If not, call on the name of the Lord and be saved.
Well, not to be too technical, but it is an SA2200. (not sure what the difference is) Amazing guitar. Just recently started playing around with the switches that let you turn the pickups from dual to single coil. (How does Yamaha make a single coil that doesn't buzz is my question.) Hey, I looked at some of your videos. You're a good player. You could check out Rich Kettner for Christian guitar players. He's a gas.
@@billbettencourt7053 I never thanked you for the Yamaha nerd info!! Not a huge difference in sound imo. On the downside, it seems to make the sound less full and lowers volume. On the plus side, seems to make the notes more distinct and less muddy. I like the guitar a lot, though it is very heavy. If I play it in public for an hour or two with the strap on (like standing), I feel it. (of course I am pretty old)
I see / hear a mistake in this. At 6:58 the note on the 4th string that's going to descend is a C, but it actually in the next chord goes up a half step to Db, then to C again, and then to B. I mistakenly say it goes from C to B to Bb to A.
