Love this movie, the actors all played their roles perfectly. I wonder if Arno Frisch never tried to expand his acting career into the US or UK, because with the filmography he'd had at just 22 I feel like he had very big potential. That's not to say that he was a flop, by any means he wasn't. He's a very successful actor, but who knows how much bigger he could've been. Then again that's all easier said than done.
The 1992 short will always be an inspiration to young filmmakers everywhere. Getting it into Sundance, then getting it sold was like lightning in a bottle rocket.
There’s some genius aspects in BR. Some lines still crack me up every single time. “What has she ever done with her life that’s so great?” “You like these? Done.” “I bet that piano was worth ten grand” “You’re out too. And I don’t think I’m in either.”
Jose M. Sison the founder of CPP NPA NDF stayed & died in the Netherlands he was not like Mao Lenin & F. Castro & Filipino communists consider him a "hero" hahaha
The fact Haneke confirmed Susanne committed suicide in a special feature on the Criterion Collection release of the film "Funny Games". She died just a day before the fifth anniversary of her husband's death and this is heartbreaking to me. They were an unbelievable talented couple. Hope they’re in peace.
I've heard about edjop in college but not really the whole story. The trailer for Edjop movie with Jodi Sta. Maria and Elijah Canlas brought me here. We really need to give spotlight to our unsung heroes. It's crazy to think that I am able to watch this video because of people like edjop who we owe our democracy.
Pareho po tayo Lodz.. Narinig ko for the first time ang pangalan nya sa Papa ko, although tga-mindanao kami pero well-known ang pangalang EDJOP noong Martial Law d2 sa'min..
I love a lot of Owen's movie bottle rocket was 2 hours long and no plot line it seems like the love of my life needs to become better at Writing Movies he'll get there one day:-)
You know there is an indirect sequel to this movie filmed in 1997, where Takeshi Kaneshiro become the hitmen and have a crazy girlfriend like Michelle here. 😅
saw it in the theater and many times since. Met Dignan at a party, he was talking w Drew Barrymore, he introduced me to Wes who told me about his upcoming film with Bill Murray. I told him that it prolly was good fit. "Who is that man?" :)
Delicious to watch, real art, amazing movie. Wes Anderson first 4 movies told us all we need to know about his talent and creativity. Larger budgets, for some crazy reason(s) watered down what made those movies so great. Anyway I still like to watch his movies always expecting to see a less polished and formula bottled Wes.
First 4 movies - bottle rocket to Steve zissou (which had a large budget and got very mixed reviews and was considered a lesser film). I don't quite see your point. I thought Zissou was great but it was considered a drop off from his first 3 films.
I don't care about the politics surrounding this movie. All I can say is that this one of the masterpieces of the late National Artist Lino Brocka. Philip Salvador took the rare grand slam best actor award for this movie. It was shown at Cannes Film Festival in France where it competed for the Palme D'or. Gina Alajar was nominated for best actress in the same festival. It was one of the best movies of the 80's.
this movie is a gem and Arno Frisch's performance is truly spectacular: after watching it I immediately felt the urge to know more about him.. so, I watched benny's video and I was so impressed the guy was so brilliant even as a child actor. I don't know tho if he mantained this level on his later works.
