SDI is for the video feed on cinema cameras, cheaper cameras usually use HDMI instead. They work in very different ways and SDI can be a lot more fragile, but ultimately it's a better and higher quality connection for these cameras.
Private victories everywhere, can't wait to start uploading again, but I need to build out some things before that. Trust me I'm coming back with a banger, just don't know when...
They didn't allow us to put anything like that outside the warehouse, and putting a diesel generator inside is not the brightest idea. (also it would not have been that much cheaper)
You accomplished something phenomenal that most people will never achieve in life. The experience has also made you shrewder, in that you know to cover your bases from greedy people such as your previous landlord. Fixed leases for a determined duration are so important to determine your cash flow or a manipulative and lazy landlord has the leverage to take advantage of you. In any case, your future success is inevitable and you're definitely young enough to recover. I wish you every luck in your future endeavors and commend you for sharing your honest journey with the world.
What a heartbreaking story. Your landlord is/was a huge dick. Raising rent and prices like that on a whim is insane. Where I am we sign contracts so rent can't be increased on a month to month basis but only when the contract ends. And we pay electricity to the energy company directly based on usage. Your studio looked dope, as a studio owner as well this was such a sad story. Hopefully you can get enough money in the future to buy your own land and building outright and not have anyone price gauging you out of your business. Seems like he was jealous of your business going so well! Good luck in the future man!
Thanks man! Nah they weren't jealous, it was more like we didn't fit the theme of the industrial area. Kinda like when you cause some trouble in a gated neighbourhood.
Bro, you really killed me, there was something inside me always hoping for a better ending. I saw and felt your passion, im sorry it didn't work out, but im sure you will succeed in future. Man, that was a tough one to finish with.
IMO, people are totally justified blaming the manufacturer. Engineers have known about this issue for how long, and they can't put a $1 isolation relay in my $XXXX camera why? Give me a break.
Yeah, totally agree! I mean there must be a reason I'm not an engineer, but it's weird, cause it's the same situation on +100k Arris and Phantoms. I've used Phantom Flex 4Ks before where 2 out of 3 SDI ports were blown out.
This is very insightful and much appreciated, for someone building a studio in my country Nigeria, not just the good things alone but the downsides that can happen to anyone... thanks for sharing very encouraging.
This is honestly a refreshing story. Most videos you see with this kind of title end up being a kid fresh out of high school lying about succeeding with a get rich quick scheme, like drop shipping or AI content farms. Good to see someone actually putting in work and building something for real.
Thanks! In the past two years I've been in a lot of communities outside of filmmaking, related to different business models. And it's crazy how many scammers and just overall fake people are out there. I feel like all the filmmaking communities are much much better than anything related to entrepreneurship and making money online.
@@marcellittleThis is something I’d like to do in my little town 🇬🇧 How viable would you say it is? I don’t know where to turn for resources regarding advice/guidance etc.
Incredible video and really incredible Studio you built. You know... While I was watching the video I couldn't imagine that ending, you are an example of the negative magnitude of a war. I'm thinking about this business model, what recommendation would you give me if you had to start from scratch? Is it a profitable business? Is it easy or difficult to get clients? I send you a warm hug from Argentina.
Cmooon man, don't speak down on yourself like that. It's very doable you just have to put in the hours. If you want it bad enough, you'll find a way to make it happen! Good luck and get back to work!!
holy shit... that is insane... I'm so sorry to hear that you were effected by the war! Anyways this proofs that you are capable of doing things like this! Don't quit and keep on chasing your dreams 🙏🏼
How did you manage your personal work while managing the studio! I’m so sorry that you had to close it but it’s a great experience and i’m sure the next one will be much smoother! Can’t wait for you to open another studio again!
I'm really interested in how a 19-year-old could afford all of this. This would make a great video. I know it is taboo to discuss the financials in many places, but I know it's what we all are wondering.
Long story short I didn't spend anything on myself and invested everything back into my career. But even with this the majority of the funds were coming from my business partner, he has a much bigger company.
full respect guys, especially Marcel seems you did a lot of the heavy lifting 💪the world needs more inspiration on youtube instead of commercials ;) anyways... would love it if you make some inspirational videos "niklas christl" style out of all your experiences
Of course it is, the legendary Barracks LA! Btw you were a massive inspiration and motivation for this whole film studio project. I've been following you for the past 5-6 years and it's amazing to see the whole empire you built.
Chin up... you did more in a year than most people will dare to do in a lifetime. Good for you, what a learning experience that will only make you stronger! Keep going!
The whole problem was that we paid our bill through our landlord and not directly to the energy company, also the war probably affected us a little more than other EU countries.
