Here's a quick little behind the scenes video about a crazy Black Friday commercial I recently shot.
It was definitely a new experience to shoot a commercial in super slow motion with the mighty Phantom Flex4K, but also a really nerve-racking experience because half of the time I was just thinking about how freaking expensive this camera really is.

I know exactly how you feel man. I just finished a 3 month project and I was really not happy with the result but the client was happy. I like your honesty and drive to make everything perfect and better. Overall I thought the commercial was not good but I only say that because you said it first. It's just the set design that let everything down, a store would have been much better and also if you are shooting just white empty studio seeing the room corners and not clean background is bad but I'm sure you know that. Amazing job on the data wrangle, injest, and editing. To do all of that in 3 days is unbelievable you worked very smart to get that done.

Being a "do it all" filmmaker myself, I can tell, for the amount of days, I think it's amazing you pulled it off!!! And if the client liked it, great job! I have one tough question though Marcel. Not saying you did it but since I hate price dumping and unpaid work, I have to ask it 😅 You said a girl had to leave, were they not paid? I mean for a multi country commercial release and using a Flex, you must've had the budget for it. Or was it just hard to find so many available people in a short time? I'm also curious how much you charged as a "do it all" videographer, that would be interesting to know as a fellow professional who lives close to Hungary hehe. Keep up the good videos, I think this is 1000 times more helpful then camera reviews and all this "cinematic" hype.

So the actors were paid but since we couldn't find professionals in the short amount of time they were on a minimal budget. I can't really tell you much about my paycheck on this project, because I'm on a monthly retainer with this client.
