I work out 4 days a week doing aerobics for 60 minutes along with muscle conditioning but it does not matter I have lost my lean muscle mass and now fat cells. What a piss off
I am a fan of David and Elon, they are both helping our future. David, since I have just come down with AMD and it is ruining my driving and my Pickleball, I will be happy to be in your Clinical trials!
I’ll make more comments later but this is really exciting. It reminds me of a talk published on RU-vid from Aziz clinics, one of the chief medical officers of Cleveland clinic, mentioned something similar to this. This case it was about plasmapheresis. He said there is a company that makes albumin had run a clinical trial on patients with Alzheimer’s in which they did plasmapheresis with albumin added, and a control of plasmapheresis without albumin. Good news, was that it had a positive effect. The bad news for them is that the albumin had nothing to do with it. It was the plasmapheresis that had the impact. so the company - literally - discontinued the trial! Because they would not make money on it. It’s crazy. There have been other discussions on RU-vid about the benefits of young plasma in particular. It’s a little macabre emotionally. That said, to the other podcaster’s question, whether some of this could be manufactured synthetically, I’m curious about whether secretomes might be considered. There was a talk on RU-vid from Hans Keirstead recently. They are using stem cells in those stem cells create the secretomes. He says secretomes are a brand new class approved by the FDA. They are in stage 1a an and 2a trials. They could manufacture it at scale for literally pennies a day. I wonder if the secret terms are some of the elements in the young plasma that are having the positive effect. I feel like this Alzheimer’s research should be funded by ARPA-H, or if caretakers could help provide funding.
Why the heck aren’t more people seeing these Inside Tracker podcasts…. With REAL scientists. What’s wrong with the Google / RU-vid algorithms? In the US, we’re collectively spending $200 billion a year on Alzheimer’s care alone - and the treatments aren’t even useful. I’ve seen that painful impact on patients up close . I’m spending $150,000 a year for my Dad between care and supplements and the diet I have him on. His “Top Neurologist” told me last year I shouldn’t bother doing anything except give him some pills he always prescribes to all his patients for the past 35 years. I ignore that defeatist neurologist’s and instead research on Nature journal, and others I can afford as a lay person, and on podcasts from real scientists like from Cure Alzheimer’s, and many other podcast sources. I also bring food every night to give my Dad the next day since these care facilities give crappy food. I bring whole grains, soy milk since we learned my dad is allergic to dairy, tons of berries every day, and I bring a huge salad, with lots of different vegetables, with olive oil or avocado based dressing, for him to have every day. My brother also gives the care facility smoothie to give him every day. I add low metal / toxin cocoa to that smoothie (from Blueprint since they showed how much metal is in other cacao). This care facility is wonderful (it’s a house) and take him for walks every day outside. The last place I had Dad in kept them sitting inside all day and gave them chicken nuggets! I keep going to the “Top Neurologists” just to get the prescriptions, and now this neurologist is “surprised how well your Dad is doing” and he is taking my Dad off some of the prescriptions because “he doesn’t need them anymore”. I asked him about his opinion about some of the new research - and he got a little defensive and said there is nothing but lequembi - and I shouldn’t get my hopes up because he remembers going to a conference for Alzheimer’s treatment 10 years ago about Vitamin B that never came to fruition as a treatment. I said for dad, as a double APOE4, they could offer to pay ME $26,000 a year to take it, but we’d decline it - because that drug is especially risky for that subtype due to the high incidence of hemorrhaging in APOE4. He said APOE4 had nothing to do with it (he’s wrong according to the research). I said maybe the Vitamin B and others may depend on which of the 5 Alzheimer’s subtype the people in the trial had. (And by the way, another scientist recently reviewed that rebuke of some B Vitamins, and the rebuke may have been wrong. He explained it statistically and did a talk about it, and it’s on RU-vid). This neurologist said what do I mean by subtype. I told him it’s in Springer Nature earlier this year. (Not from a conference 10 years ago). He said “oh.” I told him about the research around the microbiome for people with Alzheimer’s, the research from Cure Alzheimer’s (Dr. Rudy Tanzi ) and we’ve been using NR and Resveratrol. I asked him his thoughts about Glynac (he said, “what’s that”), and creatine, and light therapy. Then he said I can do what I want as long as I keep dad’s welfare in mind. I said of course. I’m about to buy my Dad a 1080 nanometer light for $3,000 - $4,000 but I’d rather buy the MIT start up Cognito Therapeutics light / sound device - but it is not available yet for us in the public - which is crazy to me why it’s taking so long. It has NO side effects! Why can’t more people sign up for it. Why isn’t it our choice? Why is it the government’s and pharmaceutical industry’s choice? The point is somehow this podcast from actual scientists have less than 800 views. That’s so disappointing to me. Something is wrong with our society and how we prioritize funding and get communication out to the public, and the medical community … My suspicion it has something to do with money and promoting the continuance of this economic redistribution that happens - even $150k a year for one patient - from average people like me to pharma companies or other entities for sick care instead of treatment or curative care. And trials only being able to be afforded by big pharmaceutical companies- when they have no economic interest in curing people from disease they’re making so much money to be sick. Emotionally - I’d rather just go get treatments from biologists than doctors and pharmaceutical companies. And for patients to opt in to giving all their data so it can be used by scientists in some sort of open source system and data source for continual AI / ML R&D. That way the money would go to the right people and continue to work towards furthering the development of cures. We the public need to coordinate and act with our politicians. And for those of us caretakers who have patients agree to make our complete data sets available - even if anonymized - to scientists.
There is absolutely no reason to test for and or reduce ApoB. This is just another measure of LDL and a ploy to increase statin distribution. This is very bad advice in proper lipid management. Driving LDL down to very low counts is bad medicine. Adequate LDL is required for metabolic health.
Last year Sinclair spoke of the goal of creating the anti-aging drug, very close...today he says he doesn't know if there is a possibility of stopping aging. Bah...
Great interview! Sinclair is a legend I take both NMN and reservatrol even though it is disputed. A vegan diet is the most important when it comes to lifespan and healthspan.
I am a lifeastyle medicine educator based in Ningbo china. I am Australian. I just finished my graduate diploma in lifestyle medicine. I was a nurse many decades ago. I enjoyed listening to this talk and think that it has definitely not gotten the attention it deserves. Doctor Katz mentioned that doctors need new tools. That is what i do however one of the big issues is funding. I am self funded and access to sponsorships is scarce. I am hoping to start my PhD in LM and public health next year. If i am fortunate i will get a scholarship. I totally relate to doctor katz in that i am hell bent on solving this problem. I wish i had a partner in life to work with as it is quite lonely work. Most of my colleagues are overseas and female. Well done, i enjoyed this. Kudos to you all.
Thank you very much for the wonderful podcast. I love that you are specific about nutrients and lifestyle really appreciate your knowledge! I am 87 and I am doing pretty well considering some biological problems ( leaky valves ) but my docs say 29:49 that I’m more like a person 10 or more years younger 😅❤
❤❤😊Dr G.Blander and Dr David Sinclair really knowledgeable presention podcast the people should be watching brilliant doctors thanks great podcast 👍 presentation
@@fredrik7922 really? Shameful .. I've been following Sinclair for over 10 years..I'm an "aging" boomer so I've had real interest in the field for a long time.... Sinclair has repackaged the same ideas for over 10 years to a different audience every time mostt likely with the intent of hoping the latest audience doesn't check his checkered resume/curriculum vitae.... Truly scandalous... The 700 million he made from Glaxo for his sirtuins wasn't enough. A real chazah.
@@robynhope219 He's referring to the resveratrol debacle in 2007. IMO, at least he's doing something. Personally I'll give him the benefit of the doubt for a little longer, perhaps until next year to see how the monkey vision experiment goes.
Most elderly people have problems getting up off the floor. As a child you spend a lot of time on the floor, adults do not. Doing yoga / stretching exercises on the floor can improve balance, mobility, flexibility and the ability to get up and down.. Just getting up and down to the floor in a controlled manner is difficult for many older adults. Play with your children on the floor. Bend over, get down and pull weeds in your garden. Play with a pet on the floor. The more effort you make to work on balance and flexibility will pay dividends as you age.
You are what you eat. Your diet impacts your health. Lower stress, reduce obesity, get enough sleep and more exercise are key to a healthy life. Obesity in children and adults is rising across the world. Fast food and sugary drinks including fruit juices are contributing to the problem of poor health and obesity. Eat a healthy plant based diet and exercise regularly. Reduce or ELIMINATE cows milk, eggs, cheese and meat. Eat more salad greens, beans, fruit and vegetables. Eliminate fast food, snacks like cookies, cakes, chips, and sugary drinks and juices. Every adult and child should own a bicycle and ride it regularly. Regular exercise will help you sleep better. Yoga is a great stress reducer. Obesity is all too common today. Get off the couch. Get off the phone, ipad or video game. A variety of stretching and other exercises help with increased mobility. Ride to work, ride to school, ride for fun. Every city should be a bicycle city. Speak up for bicycles in your community
Advice on diet is wrong. We are as individual as a fingerprint. Lots of ppl don't do well on a vegetarian diet. We were meant to eat meat.i, for one am on a hi protein, hi fat diet bc of metabolic dysfunctions.
David Sinclair has gone from a respected researcher to a snake oil salesman over the years. There is zero reason to have him for any legitimate medical platforms, and you just lost all credibility for having him on this video.
All the people involved in Zoe are investors. They had to put up their own money to get the thing off the ground. Despite this they are doing a lot of good and improving the health of many. I'm not a member as I believe I can monitor my own nutrition and lifestyle. Unfortunately there are people who are looking to be told what to do.
I see many fools in reality and on the internet who always advise sleeping for good health, as if there are people in this world who don’t sleep. I want to tell these idiots that a body with a high level of toxins will be sluggish and sleep a lot, around 6 to 8 hours. However, a body with low or no toxins will need only 4 hours of sleep at most. So, stop advising people to sleep well because sleep is just a way to purify the body of toxins, and stop this shit
Besides blood donation, iron chelation supplements can help treat iron overload and other conditions: - Deferasirox (Exjade) and deferiprone (Ferriprox): These are two FDA-approved iron chelators that are used to treat iron overload. - Chia seeds and coenzyme Q10: These can reduce iron accumulation in the blood. - Phytic acid: This has been shown to be a stable and reactive iron chelator that can pass through cell membranes. - Lactobacillus casei: This can reduce liver damage in rats that are exposed to iron and alcohol. - Fecal microbiota transfer (FMT): This involves introducing a fecal suspension from a healthy donor into a patient's gut. - Curcumin: This is the main chemical in turmeric, a spice used in traditional Indian medicine. - Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG): This is a natural iron chelator found in green tea. - Iron loss through sauna therapy: A study found that iron loss is directly related to the amount of sweat lost during a sauna session, with about 22.5 micrograms of iron per liter of sweat. However, the amount of sweat lost has only a small effect on the total amount of iron lost from the body. However, sauna also eliminates other heavy metal, such as mercury... - Carnosine: carnosine can chelate iron, copper, and other metal ions. Carnosine's antioxidant properties include preventing lipid peroxidation, quenching singlet oxygen, and stabilizing superoxide. Other supplements that may help chelate iron include: Quercetin, Resveratrol, and Milk thistle.
Thanks for this and I’m super confused. I’ve cut right back on saturated fats, eats oats each morning with extra oat bran and that is where my refined carbs stop. Rest of the time it’s protein and veg. Only Olive oil so far. Will have my bloods checked circa 6 weeks after first one. Not sure if that’s long enough though? Grateful for guidance 🙏
If u don t switch on and off adversity mode the contrary effect would be obtain at least for women who would have hormones all over the place due to the high cortisol being stressed out all the time and thats a boomer; has no logic be all the time like that or t This short was taken out of context and smth else should mention like alternating normal with adversity mode.
If David Sinclair is correct and we eventually achieve an average lifespan of 150, it's conceivable that future technological advancements will continue to push the boundaries of anti-aging science. With more advanced procedures available, people could potentially undergo multiple stages of rejuvenation after the initial treatments. This raises the question: just how far can we push the limits of human longevity?
I wish i could take the supplements he takes but some of them have poor bioavailability (Fisetin, resveratrol), and i dont know why he never spoked about that problem. Studies shown they can be better absorbed by liposomal formulations but they cost a ridiculous amount of money. I cant afford even one single of them on that form. I assume he must be taking the liposomal forms... or he don't know about the absorption problems, which i doubt... As for NMN same thing, ridiculously expensive. anyways, we'll see
