Please define "Break from work" as it is not in written in the MLC leading. some of the seafarers are forced to work continuously 6 hour in a shift 12 hour in a day which would lead to fatigue. A break is mentioned in the MLC but left to Flag stat or Authority to define which even when i looked in flag state definition it is not their. Thank You
Yes i suffered the same though the ship was not abandoned but the pay is low and work which we do thee pay is not justified , Good companies are there but they dont renew the contract fast and we have to give a lot of money for joining on their ships

My advice do your research. I lost friends aboard ElFaro the company did nothing to keep us safe. The unions did nothing also. See something report it to proper authorities. Our jobs are dangerous, look out for yourself out there
Incase this problem happen to you what i can do ? this happened to me when I was criminalized I was depressed due to the intense pressure from the office and some of the crews I asked to be hospitalized but what happened I was immediately returned without examination.
