At 0:44, what 3D set up is in the bottom right? Is this as part of the package included with the celette purchase or are you able to buy set up specs per vehicle or brand?
Yeah this type of mentality might work for independent shops but let me try and tack on some additional materials at an MSO with DRP contracts…immediate change request 😂
Cost of living is not getting cheaper folks. These businesses have operational cost, employee pay, benefit coverage for each etc.. That said, it's about charging what's fair given current cost of parts, labor, and other business overhead. We live in a capitalist society folks. We trade time, effort, skill for for pay to cover our cost of living . A business wouldn't stay in business very long if they became a charity and charged only what the vast majority may be able to afford. This why it's important to carry the proper level of insurance coverage. Can't afford it? Search for a better paying job, and use public transportation in the meanwhile. 😉 7:25 10:59
all my customers are told up front that they will be paying out of pocket for something. a few refuse to pay mark up,rates, calibrations, scans etc. we have oem certs its doesnt matter how much documentation i provide. itemized innvoice nope not paying, delivery charges nope. i hope all the ins companies enjoy setting up recals and trasportation and paying dealers. we will continue to repair vehicles per oem procedures period.
Are the insurance companies buying stocks in companies through shell companies untill they get a substantial amount of stock holdings untill they are able to change priceing of paints companies, estimating companies, companies like astecs from with in as well .they look to controll every part of the repair process. Untill they can monopolize the whole cost of the repair of the claim.????
The VCs buy intrest in insurers and other companies in the lifecycle. I think they believe their is profit in those relationships, but so far in our industry that has never proven to work. Material increases, labor force increases and labor aquisition cost keep them all chasing loss
I can understand why they would want standardized pricing. The inconsistency from shop to shop and dealer to dealer is ridiculous. $450 to calibrate a front rader at 1 shop and $1200 somewhere else for the same car. Some shops and 3rd party vendors are definitely gouging when it comes to prices for scanning and calibrating. I just removed a front bumper on an Audi and got a $2200 calibration bill for 4 different systems. Scanning and calibrations are a huge issue.
Sure they want it, but its not something they get to do. Same as one shop wants to repair a bumper and one wants to replace. Train the adjusters to adjust. But a rules system that no one can see taking precedent over OEM is extremely dangerous
Now this is what I’d be buying if I ever have new-Ferrari money to spend on a car! The craftsmanship and finishing on that build would make a watchmaker proud
this reminds me of a Government organization! Lots of BS talk! Not real world action, the bottom line is that the insurance industry will not pay for all this time that you people want to spend on fixing a car! the Problem is that the estimating software does not allow for many needed things that have to be done when repairing a vehicle. The estimating systems are capable of including many item but they just dont and its because the insurance industry is in control of the estimating software not the Body Shops! Do any of you people actually have a Body Shop? because you remind me of IICAR people or paint reps! you dont even talk as Body Shop people do. If you are estimators then ok you are estimators I dont know what you know about actually getting the car repaired and back to the customer in a timely manor.
So my car was in an accident back in August. I had trouble with my seatbelt and going over bumps my seatbelt would tighten the car felt like it wasn’t stealing correctly after they repaired. I let them know that still wasn’t correctly in the front.. I went over a bump it felt like the ABS WOULD KICK IN. Brought it back a few times they couldn’t find anything because it was on the dashboard.. fast forward the end of March. I was pulling into the bank to get money out of ATM and I must’ve not hit but rubbed against the curb ever so slightly. Pulling out of the bank driveway. I noticed I couldn’t steer my car. My tire was bent in so I had it towed to a different dealership because clearly the ones that I went to originally didn’t fix the problem. During the accident the tie rod was bent and according to my boyfriend a Welder they didn’t replace it they heated it up and bent it back. When I brought it back to the new dealership, they found not only that but the steering column was cracked in three places. My question to you is how easy is it to crack a steering column without getting into an accident? My insurance progressive that I ran over something in the road and that’s how that happened. How likely is that because I was not in another accident and I did not run over something.
Oh my god, I bought a 2024 F150 today. When I delivered the car today, I found that the paint on the driver's door was damaged. The dealer said that they would replace the skin door for me. This is not worth it at all.
The only complaint I have as a consumer with diminished value is how the industry hasn't kept up with places like Carvana. I was about to sell a car to Carvana when it got hit. Carvana was going to give an incredible amount of money as they had for other cars I'd sold to them (literally over what I paid at the dealer new for one). Only problem now was they don't sell accident cars. So it was a true ≈6000 drop in price if I'd sold to them after it was fixed. They buy for more than KBB often. Going third party clamient $300 was all I was going to get. In the end I took a check and sold it as is, I lost some but would have lost more if I'd gotten it repaired.
