I sm not facing fall til the weather dictates. I am still walking early morning with tee n leggings here in the Midwest. My garden is still thriving.. until I need a sweatshirt I am NOT acknowledging fall. So I am still on the summer train for sewing 😊
You did not need to come for me at the beginning of this video lol😂. I am so excited for fall! Anyway, I love the blue brocade fabric and pattern pairing, and can't wait to see all the looks.
I feel the same way, I refuse to see any thing fall until September 1. My birthday is in August too and I don’t want to see anything pumpkin related while I’m still chilling on the beach 🏖️ 🍹
Hi. I’ve just started watching your videos. I’d like to watch more, but it’s really difficult to hear you. It sounded if you were whispering during the first part of the video. You might want to consider getting a mic.
Hi welcome! Thanks for watching💛 ! a few reasons you want to trace patterns, if you cut it out and change sizes but want to make it again you probably have to buy a new pattern. Also if you make any modifications, to the pattern it's better to do it on a copy and not the original in case you want to start over. I admit I only trace my paper patterns or vintage ones. If they are PDFs I have no problem cutting them because I know I can print a new one if necessary.
I also live in Dallas (in East Dallas Texas, aka the EDT). If you have a chance, check out Curiosities, off Garland Rd. It’s right next to the Dallas Arboretum, so visit the gardens and then head over to the store to check out their vintage selections. It’s a great shop, and the owners are just super people. The booths are unique and different, and the prices are reasonable (I’ve seen so many overpriced vintage and antiques shops here in the area). City View Antiques (approximately at Mockingbird and Abrams, behind the Tom Thumb) is also a fun place to shop, and they have a good rotation of stuff at the booths in their shop. It’s near Greenville Ave., so lots of good food in the area if you want to have lunch after you shop, it’s a good choice. Thanks for your videos! I’m just starting to navigate the sewing videos on RU-vid, and was glad to see your channel here. I will be subscribing.
I am a horder. I have no brakes when I am on a roll. This is my 1st time seeing you. Like your style. Good start on your stash. I love any and all eyelet fabric. The fabrics are cute.
Thank you so much for expanding on the differences in the old vs new Reader’s Digest sewing books. I’ve heard from several people that the older one is better, but they don’t usually tell us why. I appreciate your explanations for all of the other books as well. 👍
that trim you got I have a ton of trim that looks similar. (When I first started sewing and was on a spending binge) I bought a TON of vintage trims. And now I have them and have barely used it lol. I can’t wait to see what you did with yours. I need ideas lol
I love your fabric picks! I can't wait to see what you make. Also, I'm all about the trim too! I love. your Zimmermann inspo that you shared previously. I just finished my own Zimmermann inspired dress on my channel. I wish we had something like this, very cool!
Vintage patterns! It’s funny to watch what is labeled vintage because patterns show up my mother wore and then there are patterns I wore. I love the styles though. Yes, the directions may or may not tell you everything, but back then every girl took home economics classes and you walked out knowing everything about sewing. Exception: unless you wanted to sew professionally, then you went further and studied tailoring. Thank you for the walk down memory lane😊❤️
