Welcome to my Stormgate gaming channel! We'll be focussing on the new RTS by frost giant called stormgate, covering news updates, stormgate gameplay footage, stormgate discussions as well as stormgate casted games.
I find that on this channel the commentary provides more information about the mechanics and numbers of the game. It's something I greatly miss with all stormgate casters, seems they are all so used to cast a 14(25) year old game, that they don't ever bother to provide details on how the game works.
Rush with Exos is a dirty way to play o¬o ... I counter that with centinels and the shield ability uwu ... But is must important to scout the enemy to see in what phase is and how many units have, more or least. The upgrade of the shield is some late, but I gain time with 2 bunkers with shileds too. Affter that, with some 3 centinels with the shield ability is enough to protect my units and then, they give up XD
Im happy with the new brute upgrade path. Having to upgrade the fiends on sundering soul before upgradjng the armor on brutes felt awful and i never found a time where it was worth investing in one to get the other.
"Things were a little bit ropey" :D , with ~300 Average players I'd say it's a total disaster not a little bit ropey my dude. Until 90% of the models in game are reworked and races revisited from the ground up - the players numbers will not increase. (there are ofc other problems besides that.. Just pointing one of the biggest one) No one wants that Terran vs Diablo/Warcraft Orc/Demons (that do not fit in the whole narrative of Terran) vs Protoss (that can move their bases at any moment in the game) confusion... If they wanted Demons - they should have learned from Doom. (since they did a Sci-Fi Humanity vs Demons and it was a decent implementation of such vision)
50 players and 5 viewers on twitch ..game is kind dead man remained me little bit of Quake champions..but Quake had actually good player numbers and great GFX compare to SG..
Some like it fast, some like it slow, some like it turtled up no rush 10... Looks like an exciting update! Especially looking forward to seeing the Weaver and melee units pushing/ new pathing as an infernal main.
0:30 The launch had 2 issues. 1. People who supported the game got to face instant micro transaction via pay to play heroes. 2. That campaign looked like ass. They shouldn't had shown it yet. It was soo under cooked. The start cutscene looked a bit weird. The rest of them were really not it. Some things look like they are in an alpha stage. If you don't want to animate the intermission talking yet, than just have a picture of the character who's talking, till you finish it, so it doesn't look weird. 3. The getting new heroes part were not tested I guess? Cus it's soo easy to loose them, cus you don't control them, but the dumb AI is and they can die as well, which they will. So the missions need some more time in the oven as well. So over all, we got an early alpha campaign which shouldn't had been shown to the public, cus it makes me don't wanting to play the game.
”Hello! We will give you some small update. Please give us more money for everything. Campaign is bad? PAY FOR MISSIONS! PAY FOR HEROES! Next update: pay to right click!” Free to play does not excuse the game asking for so much money for everything, especially with the state it is in atm.
It does take inspiratrion from WC3 where it matters most - the map editor aims to be like WC3, the ability to create WC3 heroes in the editor already exists - it's gonna be good stuff
And I think the problem is there are as many who would say the opposite thing. They try to please two different crowds, and will end up leasing no one.
I like the change with the shroud and gaunt. Overall I feel the Infernal ability to cover the whole map in shroud, should be a very impactful moment. But at the moment it really feels unimpressive, this change will help push that it the right direction.
Coop is already kinda fun, but these character progression trees have me looking forward to 3v3 so much. They also get to tweak pretty easily how powerful they want the heroes to be in that mode.
Is the game gonna be faster or remain as slow as a snail ? Wet noodles battle design remains or not ? Lightning seems better though. Unit are less uninteresting. Can we be hopeful again ?
Higher time to kill than SC2 (for more micro opportunity) has been a stated goal for years. We seem to be hovering around AOE4 TTK, and it's been working for the desired goals, so that's probably not changing.
@@ZverseZ What does that even mean? Average game time? It's already 10-15 minutes. Time until units start fighting? That's anywhere between 1 and 5 minutes, similar to SC2.
@eduardoserpa1682 How long the games last is hardly what makes a game feel slow. First there's unit cost, and early game units like the lancer which costs double what the starting SC1 units cost. And Exos also cost double what a marine costs, and I consider that a starting unit too. This issue is quadrupled by workers getting half as much luminite with +4 instead of +8. Seige units like the atlas just miss their target and don't automatically reload The game can have a high TTK sure, but with the current systems in place it's just too slow. If it's gonna be a high TTK, lower the cost of units, or at least increase luminite yields. If they don't want to change those then yeah the TTK probably needs to go down Even Warcraft 3 gave you 10 gold per worker
Awesome videos! They really us plyers improve and understand the game better. Will the build order still be valid for the latest patch? I have a feeling it will with slight adjustments.
I was so confused about that Support - How to install the update. the update isn't ACTUALLY live, I just spent an hour trying to figure out why I couldn't download it. 'Now, it’s time to present Stormgate’s first content update, 0.1.0!' they meant: 'SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOON' I love this game, I'm going to forgive the derps. XD
