watching Darren talk about something with his convictions of yesterday and today is a satisfying dive, as I watched his growth personally and professionally. Master.
I love them so much. The way that Darren talks about Chris, it's so sweet. I don't ship them since Darren is straight but they I friendship them so much
Or as talented as Tamara Keith. Not as talented as Amy Walter...that one would have talent more along the lines of Harry Shum...and the actress who plays Quin Fabre...and, and..as talented as Ari Shiffman, the west coast kid who developed that covid tracking website....jeepers you kids are talented. But please: stay the heck out of politics...it's a very very bad idea to mix showbiz with politics. Inherently a bad idea. Please guys. I share your opinions on many many things, and I value you and your talent...please stay out of the political arena, because ....it belittles the system, that's why. Even Peggy Noonan would say the same. There was a novel by Robert Heinlein that one of my elementary school buddies gave me, a boy named Josh who looked like a kiddie version of my adult medical mentor. Dr. Thom, in face and stature.....this kid and I were on the same wavelength in elementary school and he gave me a scifi novel for my eleventh birthday that he thought I'd like, called Revolt in 2100. And the point is that in the novel (I was too young to notice at the time how deeply Heinlein hated women, by the way, since I didn't yet identify with adult women, and since little girls don't realize that women are hated until they start to have curves and I wouldn't have a curve to my name until I was sixteen at least), in the novel, when the rebels win and destroy the Religious Totalitarian Inquisition Hell Government run by some guy called The Prophet, as I recall all these decades later...at first they were going to put into place the same kind of propaganda that their defeated enemies had used to "educate" people politically to support THEIR regime instead of the old religious totalitarian ayatollah government....until someone pointed out that, wasn't that just the same old evil repackaged into a new form? Wouldn't it be better to let the people Make Their Own Choice without massive propaganda? Or else, how were the new secular rebel leaders any better than the religious dictators they had replaced, if they still used the same methods to indoctrinate people, only into a new set of official "beliefs" instead of the old ones? So the new rebel government decides to do this novel thing, namely to let people form their own opinions, and in the novel at least, it worked out for the best, and the people decided honestly to support the secular democratic rebels over the religious totalitarian dictators they had just overthrown. Now I get it that "the people" in America these days, at least many of them, are ignorant and hate filled as heck. But it bothers me deeply to mess around with The Free Press and with Free Political Commentary...even though the opposite side, the up and coming nazi-like right wing, seems to have no such scruples at all, broadcasting totalitarian balderdash on Fox News. I get it. And yet, if we progressive proponents of an open society copy those methods,...how are we a better alternative? It's not enough merely to fight for our faction's survival. We have to be BETTER than the opposition...or why does our side MERIT the victory? So please, do what you can to keep political discussion as clean as possible...even though it kind of looks like it might already be too late. Democracy is so fleeting. It seems to be a fleeting little transient eddy before the current takes society inevitably onward towards the whirlpool of totalitarian hell...yet we need to fight to preserve that little eddy of Democracy for as long as possible. Hmm, I wonder what Karl Wittfogel wrote besides that essay on oriental despotism, irrigation waterworks, and dry field farming, that we had to read in college? His article and G Skinner's article on the patchwork quilt patterns in Chinese Villages, as seen from an aerial view, were the most brilliant articles I ever read as an undergraduate....them and old Prof' MacFarquahar's Origins of the Wen.huah.dah.ger.minq, jolly nearly cover to cover,. hours and hours spent reading these books on reserve, while sequestered in the stale air of Lamont Library. MacFarquahar's historical book goes well with the novel Dreams of Joy, given to me as a Christmas Present by Dr. Thom.
This Darren Chris isn't bad...but the one in the original video is every bit as talented as Saiorse Ronan or...Lin Manuel Miranda. Dang, that's talent. This guy's OK though...
I hope Darren is being honest about what he saying about Chris the interviewer did say friend and cast mate so I hope they are friend but Chris and Darren to me seem like to geuine guys
