I'm getting ready to finally record a repair (gamegear recap). You're a huge inspiration for that. Have done another recap and that worked, so I'm optimistic. Checking this video now because your videos are awesome and I love the setup with cameras etc. After uploading some videos on youtube and realizing how much time editing them takes, I do really want to set it up in a way where I'm editing the video on the fly. You have a Stream deck, so do I. Need to map it to OBS scenes and add another capture card to get the feed from the hdmi microscope vs using the microSD card. Thanks for uploading this video and showing us around. Is this something you have considered doing? Switch video sources in OBS using the Stream deck while you're recording? Could save a lot of time I think, not having to sync up videos etc.
given that the traces are sort of washed out/different colour than the other 2, i would say it's a cheap chinese knock off, that probably never worked...
Steve, never knew you had this channel, sub’d and loving the videos, quick question though, what is the grinding pen your using, and what tips are you using?
given it looks like the MPU is not connected to anything but the "barbus" does the white cable labeled as IO on the MPU, connect up to the white plug (yellow wires) coming down from above - otherwise how does the MPU communicate with anything else in the case? Otherwise we likely would need images of the top and bottom board to be able to assist with googling.
You should try and find out if your grease is compatible with the gear. Those bent gears are not normal. Something has degraded the plastic. If you have used incompatible grease, it would explain it perfectly.
Nearly 400 quid for a pile of crap. Why do idiots buy Dyson products. I owned the first Dyson vacuum cleaner. Bits kept falling off it , luckily under warranty. So , yes I was an idiot, not anymore. Obviously Dyson don't want you to repair their stuff, they want you to buy another. No wonder Mr Dyson is so wealthy.
After a while on charge my vac didn't hold charge and the led light kept flashing and would turn off . I dissembled mine, reassembled and its working good as new
The share file is blocked in red basically you cannot add roms because it says permissions denied , that's through desktop mode then look for sd card , also dosnt show all files if plugged into a laptop , so I'm confused how you'd add your own roms and delete the crap off you don't want ... anyone know ?
I know this is a year old, but at 3:27 there may be a filament between the 6th and 7th pins that you knock off as you're doing the solid test. Could that have been it? I'm just an avid viewer and not an electronymacist, so I'm just guessing.
For that lifted pad, I would have left it soldered to the capacitor while gluing it down. It was aligned perfectly, and made it easy to hold the pad in place while gluing.
Hey Steve, you seem to have at least two loose connectors the second one is dangling in the breeze at 0:50. Its only briefly visible, the connector is white and has 4 sets of wires (white, black, red, yellow) it seems to origninate from the bottom of the MPU box. Shortly after in the shot of the board at 0:51 way on the right side there are just two pins visible on the board of what appears to be an empty header. The leftmost pin seems to be bent slightly to the right. Not sure if that is the header for the unplugged cable but it is surely a candidate to check. This looks like an intersting one, so congrats on your bargain purchase =)
Thanks so much for posting this. I realize I’m pretty late to the party but I picked one of these cards up a while back and forgot about it. Figured I’d give it a go and I wouldn’t have figured out how to run it if not for you. Thanks!!!
What i think that might help is to try: -reconnecting all the cables -see if the cables even work by using a multimeter and seeing if it shorts -above the you see those connectors maybe try disconnecting those and seeing if that works -maybe searching for a missing board -try and see if the cables lead to something important and maybe check if there are any open ports where those loose cables fit in I hope that maybe one of these idea's might get your further! But i'll still wish you the best of luck i know that i made alot of typos but i'm lazy and don't feel like checking
did you notice the TONS OF DISCONNECTED WIRES?!?!?!? - there is one HANGING DOWN RIGHT NEXT TO THE 'self test' MACHINE!! - THERE'S YOUR FIRST PROBLEM!!! - but you're gonna need to know EXACTLY where to plug them in..... OOHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!! - Another place that deal with older arcade machines and would sure have connections to someone/somewhere to get a manual is 'RMC - The Cave' try to connect with him (if this comment doesn't get deleted for mentioning another channel... grrrrr) lol
OHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH I KNOW WHO MIGHT BE ABLE TO HELP YOU OUT, AND HE'S IN ENGLAND TOO!!! - TECHMOAN !!!! He's dealt with a few machines similar to this, maybe he knows where to get some resources... I doubt he would directly know, but he might know a guy who knows a guy, if u know what I mean :)
When it says 'cycle power' that doesn't mean cut the main.... it means use the ON/OFF SWITCH for the machine.... at least that's what 'cycle power' usually means..... FIND AN ON/OFF SWITCH somewhere on the machine.... probably inside if it's a real machine that involves money.... - have you looked for the repair manual, or user manual, or ANY type of written material??? - if you can't find online then you might have to contact the company manufacturers it and ask them how much for a repair/service manual... but that's IF they allow regular people to get it like here in the states where anything to do with gambling is tightly regulated and you need a license to obtain anything to do with those machines..... but the internet can help bypass that, if you can find it
I can't wait for more episodes on this machine. I'm fairly sure you didn't "accidentally" buy it. You accidentally buy whole milk instead of semi-skimmed, but not a fruit machine. 😂
I have Money Maschine.similar then your. You can See IT in a Video in my Channel. Some das, they dont Work. There a Batterie inside. But when is dead,a replacement doesnt Bring the machine Back. Intern,a Programm get lost. Here in Germany,i found a human the replace the Batterie and reparier the Programm. I think thats the Problem. The Programm is lost. I send them the circuit Board. Think max 50 Euro. All Work fine now
Reset the RTC by turning off the power and pressing the up and down buttons on the MPU6 while turning it back on. Test RAM; if it passes, restart the machine. If the error persists, replace the CR2032 battery on the MPU6 board. Run self-test routines and check switches and channels1. Hope this helps! 😊
