Hello and welcome to the Tillman Family Farm RU-vid channel!!! Our farming Mission has changed a lot in the last year. We have moved from hobby farming into a pasture base livestock farming operation. Pastured Pork, Pastured Poultry and Pastured eggs along with Grass feed beef. We have come a long way with a long way to go! Follow along and learn with us as we grow!
GDA doesn't want small farms selling and making profit and getting ahead because it takes away the government control small processors sell real healthy products unlike big packers but it's ok .
I can go to my local canery Monday and buy bottled raw unpasteurized milk in ga. Anybody that says the government is looking out for health concerns has drank the corporate Kool aid. Milk Bourne bacteria is 4x as deadly as a whole gutted bird that took an ice bath and will be cooked to over 200 degrees
When GDA doesn't want something they create lies and make up rules to stop business I have seen it first hand with 3 GDA meat plants in georgia and what does tyler harper do go hide and don't get involved there is more going on with GDA than we all know and it needs a swamp cleaning but tyler harper isn't the one to do it cause he only knows what his cronies tell him which is bs. Agriculture is so much different from any other business you can't have Peta running it and that what you have it appears with GDA along with a bunch that don't want to work.
GDA is the most useless tax payers funded organization in our state our current AG Commissioner is useless to any one in this type of agriculture if your not a deep pocket with shiny facilities he's not for us. GDA doesn't know crap about regulations nor does tyler harper how can one be a ag commissioner and not know how to do the job and know the difference in bs that his GDA department feeds him. We need a real ag commissioner not some politician that wants to be governor representing agriculture in georgia tommy was good because of his love for agriculture Gary was better than Tyler but he was no tommy a ag commissioner should know everything about the departments under him if not he doesn't need the job
Hopefully this swings back so far the other guy that the big producers are punished for pushing this through in the first place and they think twice before shoving this kind of stuff through the legislature again. Do you know the names of the authors of the bills who changed the Georgia guidelines? Gotta shame these guys.
I really appreciate your hard work fighting for small farms! Pretty sure I've said it before, but that's why we raise food for ourselves and don't bother selling. We do barter with eggs, but all the crap laws just don't make it worth the hassle.
Put together a hand full of family farmer, start a co-op and build a processing facility that handles that and distribution.

I'm hearing you. You are brave for fighting the tyranny. Please stay strong. I think the USDA is as messed up as their food pyramid. "Cereal" is listed as a primary macronutrient and we americans are like, "hmm Lucky Charms is cereal." You betcha I think this is intentional.
We should find a state model that works well and use that as an example to explain to politicians. So what is the best state for small scale producers?
I’m following you because I’m a fellow Georgian, you win this I win because I’m a tiny homesteader in NE GA. You win, I win and I want to help you win. I’m tired of “them” trying to blue our state. 😡 Hang in there and know there’s people like myself praying for you.
Every small producer I’ve talked to is paying a processor a premium price to process and package their birds. NO ONE IS PROCESSING 1000 BIRDS OR LESS ON FARM ANYMORE. 2 years ago there were at least 180 farms processing 1000 birds or less on farm.
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 Ok, where are these guidelines you talk about? Goergia guidelines for exemption is online on their website and it has not been changed, but you say there's new guidelines? There has been no new legislation or guidelines that I can find anywhere but your vid. Where are they if not listed on the Georgia Dept of Ag website? Why would they have the "Old" rules still listed? It sounds to me you're not in compliance with the exemption or are trying to get larger as a small producer and have crossed the line into larger scale. Are you still in production? Or have you closed down? it seems your still operating so are you doing so illegally? Ya, you're not because your vid is BS to get views. Im not a chicken grower but have hogs, i also pay someone to process them as its just easier, so saying "Everyone I talked to" is paying someone doesn't mean they have to, its a messy job people would rather not do. Anyways, to settle this, where are these rules you speak of in this vid? Come on, give up a link.
People get angry when they find out they were getting away with something and get caught. NOT ONCE did I hear that you asked the enforcers WHY you needed all the "permits and junk." I wouldn't buy your chickens because you can't tell me why they want you to do all that stuff. I wouldn't buy your unpasteurized milk either. Feed yourself. Leave feeding others to people who know how to do all that permits and crap.
I sent 6 months jumping through hoops to get everything needed to be approved. Which is all still very legal through the USDA. We had to take classes and test. This isn’t some hillbilly shit. It’s very clear you don’t understand the the factory farming food system. By the way we are a dairy so there’s no chance of you drinking my milk. But you obviously don’t know the benefits of that either. You should watch the documentary Food INC.
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 Naw. It's not hillbilly shit, because I am a hillbilly, and our shit smells like honeysuckle. Congrats on your continuing education. Sorry you can't figure out a way to make it work. You should keep going to class.
IMHO a hardhat with face/ear protection is the bare minimum for PPE. The only other comment I have is I was concerned about the tractor placement at the end of the rope. I would have been much more comfortable if the rope went thru a pulley and moved the tractor to the side of the trajectory of the falling tree. Then everyone/everything is out of harms way should the tree be taller than expected.
We are the home owner cutting our own tree. I don’t own tree cutting safety equipment. If I did it for a living I would most definitely buy all of those things. I used a tree as a pulley and the tractor was a good 100 feet passed where the tree would reach. And off set to the left. That was the whole reason to use the tree. The rope pulls in the direction of the tree while the tractor is pulling in another direction altogether. Thanks for watching
Absolutely!! How about the fact that getting a candelers license to sell eggs is literally IMPOSSIBLE?!? We have been trying for over a year! They only have a few classes across the entire state with 16 seats only in each. We have applied for MULTIPLE that were supposedly open...but always recieved an email back that they were full so we couldn't attend. So, legally we can't sell our eggs. Or how about the ridiculous license needed to sell home grown fruits & veggies at the Farmers markets? Or the license needed to sell just plants?!? It's all absolutely ridiculous & it killed our homesteading journey here. Thank the good Lord we are moving out of this state before the end of the year. We've already looked up our new soon to be state's chicken & homesteading laws...thankfully it's going to be how it should be!!
No joke maybe 1 or 20 times🤣 but different every time! We have a video of a big magnolia that was close to a building. Check that one out. That one was was fun.
You talked more about the stickers then the actual rebuild. I had to replace the clear hose near carb, and you didn't even show any of your carb rebuild. Why would you leave out the good stuff.
I can’t take the verbal abuse from the ones that really know what they’re doing! 🤣🤣🤣 I do good to get them running again. I have another channel @southernhomesteading that fool with saws and guns. It gets a deeper over there. Thanks for watching.
We are sovereign nationalists not citizens or public chattel! We have the right to not participate in government legalism and the right to not enter into contract with anyone including the government! We the People created and control government not government We the People!
😂😂😂😂😂😂 Odds are you are a REPUBLICAN! What did you think you were going to get voting for the corporatist. Put youre big boy pants on. You got what you asked for. SCHADENFREUDE!!!!!!
I know someone who just built a small processing facility approved by the GDA. 3rd one in the state. State GDA was actually pulling for him. Just do it the right way. Contact the proper people. Build it and it will be approved. This is here in Georgia. I’d rather not give out name on RU-vid.
I’m trying to figure out how to raise chickens on my property and have them processed somewhere and that seems to be a real problem. They only want his facility to be used by him. Not let him hire out his facility or charge a processing fee. Which is just total bs in my opinion.
Right. You can spend the money to do it. The problem is just two years ago and 50 years before that you didn’t have to have all of that. It’s alright those. With some help I believe we have found where they messed up writing some of these laws. We’ll see. Keep watching! Thanks for your comment
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 totally agree it’s all messed up. I may have misunderstood some of the message in the video. I bet the folks I’m referring to spent a lot of $$$. Love what you’re doing and I’m pulling for you and praying for you and the system itself to change for the better!
@@tillmanfamilyfarm7759 trying to figure out how to turn my family farm into a small beef cattle and possibly chicken operation. 330 total acres, 100 acres of farmland 50 is irrigated, my dad still farms row crop conventionally but he’s about to retire.
