I have a small complaint about fusion guitar players in general. Most of them do long, neck climbing legato lines (which I love) but these lines too often end with a big bend. It's almost like a mandatory exclaimation point. I also love bends but it's become predictable with these players. Predictable means boring. I'd rather be surprised. I am not a player I am only a spectator.
Fantastic player but a lot of the comments here silly,no such thing as the goat ,thr whole zhred thing is in one ear and out the other to the genetal.public and the obsession with speed ie fastest is best just thing of musical immaturity amongst guitar players you will never hear someone come out of an orchestra pit saying "did you hear how fast he played that ? "
So is this a speed comparison or just general musician ship? As a well rounded guitarist there's no comparison. Chris wins. Now if i went to a circus show and walked into a tent and saw mab playing in a cage dangling from the roof id figure that was 5 bucks well spent.
Absence of limitations is the enemy of art. All good. But why can't Max and similar tone down and visit the Gilmour or even Schenker galaxies? I hear their always rapid and frequently travelled legato arpeggios a tad redundant. Just me?
Yeah, not there. I didn't see him switch from major tones to minor tones, nor does he have the ability to do what yngwie did. I guess if he would watch this video, he would have given him a thumbs down. What about scales, and swtiching between them, son?
Yngwie has excellent feel and control no matter what anyone says (some say he hides behind the shredding), Romeo is equally talented but he also is a brilliant rhythm guitarist.. delivering those juicy metal riffs that will make you drool.. i vote Romeo.
To play like Yngvie with singelcoil in neck position with low dist is very difficult. He also play with scalloped neck. That is very difficult. He also play with 9,5" radius neck, not 12" like Rome. Thats impressing, because Yngvie have extremely high action, when Rome have extremely low action. Rome also rest in solo with easier finger picking, and that is cheating, if you ask Yngvie. Romeo is very good. He wasn't good as younger. Yngwie had it as newborn. But who's better nowadays? .. now bodie in the world's that good to judge..
That lick at 3:56 is identical to the one that George Lynch did on The Guitar Bible who happens to be another amazing guitarist. As far as who is the fastest between these 2 Italians, I think it’s too close to call.
Hmmm...I'm a huge Steve Morse fan, and poor Steve has been forced to change his picking style because of severe arthritis in his picking hand. This style looks to me like a solution.
