What a scene, might be my favourite from the series honestly.. this is 10x better designed than the death star destroying planets, even in the new SW movies

Species 8472 is the only species I seen that were a legetimate threat to the Borg.

Would the Borg be able to assimilate one of James Cameron's Aliens?
@thatsnotagoodidea
@thatsnotagoodidea 16 дней назад
Yes. But why would they do it? The Aliens in the James Cameron universe are not technological. They are animals with slight cognitive intelligence and acid blood. A species needs at least warp drive for the Borg to even look.

One of the best scenes in all of Star Trek history, was when Species 8472 said, “Oh Hell No”… to the Borg. And worse than the middle finger, Species 8742… said something worse. This species said, “fuck you”… to the Borg. To be fair, the Borg were asking for it, since they were the ones who invaded species 8472’s space in the first place. The Borg were brazen and arrogant as a hive mind… as always. :)

I would think that big hooters would be of no use to the Bork, except maybe to lure and entrap male victims.

"We are the Borg. You will be assimilated. Resistance is futile" is indigenous to "Voyager." The Collective never said that on "TNG" or even in "First Contact."
@funkmasteryoda8323
@funkmasteryoda8323 2 месяца назад
It is absolutely ridiculous to think that the Borg couldn't have come up with that on their own. The collective has the knowledge of thousands of species, not to mention the hive mind can work out complex problems in nano seconds. You're telling me that with all of the power and knowledge that they couldn't come up with what the Voyager crew did in a few days? Give me a break. What a stupid episode. You know damn well this was all Rick Berman trying to make Voyager more thrilling by going "bigger and better" with an enemy that could take out the Borg.

always got a kick out of the voyager warp ten episode like it was a first and ur in all places at one time. remember the episode on the original series the enterprise was at warp 14.1. plus common sense when they done time warp. obviously didnt fly around the sun and wiith the sling shot only hit warp 9.9.

Shows you how vulnerable the borg are when their only strategy fails - without assimilation they are unable to learn or adapt. Species 8472's natural immunity to assimilation made them the perfect ones to take down the biggest threat in star trek.

Who is scarier: the Borg, the Kelvan race from the Adromedan Galaxy that can take your star ship through the Galactic barrier into deep space. The doomday machine that eats planets. Galactus . The Modified human that went into the galactic barrier on the TOS enterprise that became a godlike human which was becoming more powerful every second and considered ordinary humans bugs that could be swatted on a whim.? The Galaactic barrier.

The biggest crime Janeway ever done was side with the Borg. Every time any species was finding a way to destroy the Borg, Janeway would stop it Same way the Enterprise didn't destroy the Borg when they could. When it comes to morality and saving the galaxy from destruction, the federation will always choose morality. Even if it just means just one individual being saved (Hugh). "The needs of the many, outweigh the needs of the few" Logic that the Enterprise and Voyager clearly didn't abide by

When I first watched this episode I was hoping for a Chuck Yeager-type of storyline. Actually using human (Kilingon etc) ingenuity like they did back in the 50s (and how they would later do the 60s 'space race' with the Delta Flyer's construction). The first act of this episode is fine. It falls apart after that.

At the end of the episode Tom should have said “Computer, end program” and he steps out of the holodeck. At least in my head canon this episode is just Tom fantasising about getting back to Earth by some implausible means.

1:18 this point is roughly the 10 second mark for the "you have 10 seconds to comply" ultimatum. Technically, even as Janeway is giving her speech, the time runs out on the timer she herself set. It's roughly 15 seconds until the Borg reply, at 1:23 TV/movies and their concept of what time is... frustrating. it's one of my pet peeves that annoys the hell out of me. Just don't throw a stupid time limit in, and it's fine.

If warp 10 causes problems then why didn't they just go as close as they can to it that way that would still increase their speed significantly without the problems.
