Blimey ! I've got one of these and i can't believe you have to go to soooo much trouble just to remove a carb. Kinda makes me yearn for a Suzuki TS 185 again. So much simpler.
Bro can you help me i have a suzuki 1994, you see the little metal stick right beside the little star it brock in half and i cant take it out HELP ME PLEASE HOW COULD I TAKE IT OUT
The trick is to use a wrench on the rubber boot connecting the carb to the airbox (rear boot). Press the wrench in towards the side of the boot and then press towards the rear (press hard!). Have someone hold the bike for you so it doesn't roll or tip over. By doing this you relieve most if the tension from the boots that are holding the carb in place.
Remove the pair of ten mm bolts on the rectifier and sit it to the side. I used the handle of a long wrench to pry the air box boot back while using the vertical subframe as a fulcrum. Also make sure to connect and disconnect your throttle cables BEFORE getting your rubber boots where you want them.
Do u have to take that vover off to adjust that from the engine or can u just adjust the cable from that cover. Some one adjusted the lever end so much but i want to check that part
When there's a cliff edge it's probably not a good idea to try dragging knee. Pick safe corners when leaning heavily. Your riding line could also be improved. I have areas I ride that also have cliff edges, I can't fly, so I won't be doing anything crazy on certain corners.
Yes. It was my first time dragging knee through a corner, it felt good, and I gave it some more throttle so I could touch down again... all the while forgetting this corner I had taken so many times before was a decreasing radius corner.
davetechme You have a choke on your left clip on. The left clip on on my k2 750 is from a 2000 600 after I crashed it, but I took the actually choke lever off.
That's what I iniitally thought too but it's not a choke. It's an idle adjuster for cold starts. Same function but technically not a carb and choke setup.
davetechme I've heard of the adjustable idle but didn't know it looked just like a choke. I actually posted on GSXR.COM recently about the k1 600 actually being carbrated because all of the ones I've seen had a choke.. or so I thought. Never really looked any deeper than that to see if it was in fact carburated. So thanks for telling me.
hey davei was wandering if you know what sho gun 09r1 and lady l have been up too haven't seen any post from them in a long while hope there ok any info much appreciated
Replaced cable and have wayyy to much slack in the lever, when I back out the adjuster knob it gets a little tighter but nowhere close to what it should be! What did I do wrong? Anyone help plz!
Looks like a beginner driver...react to slowly at curves and has really difficult to keep the correct path on the road. I would recommend cone training, drive slalom through the cones to gain control over your bike
Before you lost control, I kept thinking man, he takes those corners kinda oddly like not in the best angle or part of road. I'm not surprised you wrecked. Looks like your skill level doesn't match the bike.
you leaned too much that u lost control and power to put back the bike in straight position that's why u kept going left glad u still ok that the most important
Gsxr are very sturdy and don't break easy. The bike looks okay for the most part, I just wrecked mines the other day. Just like that, and I only have to but new brace and farrings
